We thought this was a beautiful tree outside a city hall.

You are right it is a beautiful tree. 

I have tall trees in my yard and have often thought I would like to put lights to the top.  I would never be able to do what they have done in this tree though. 

Well done, the lights look like stars!

really good exposure, spot on, the tree looks kind of like a pointed wedding cake, with the spiral band round it
