Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

The pediment above the town hall in Todmorden.

One interesting external feature of the town hall is the pediment. The fine carved stonework has two central female figures on a pedestal. The left hand one represents Lancashire (cotton spinning industry) and the right hand one Yorkshire (engineering and agriculture).

Does this also show the "Sweat Shop" conditions the people worked in?

Interesting artwork, I enjoy the history.

Summicron

Definately not, they avoided that like the plague, these are like the communist propaganda imagery, striving for the common good. No mention whatever of the almost slave labour conditions that went on in the mills.

Nice job getting it from a difficult angle.  Very sharp and clear and interesting history background.  :)
