Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Well I finally went back to the Trafford Center, yes I also got a tract out of it, and boy did I get a surprise, because under this pediment of Zeus, a unicorn, and a gryphon, was a text you can just see the word that. Read and see.

Arguably the most pagan place in Britain, sumptuous in design and materials, a place seemingly not only devoted to commerce and selling, but teeming with imagery of pagan gods, of classical Rome, Greece, and Egypt. At one time it was a place I would never have considered visiting, but just before Christmas 2009, I found myself on a bus and actually going in, this visit confirmed all my worst fears that The Trafford Center was nothing more than a pagan temple utterly devoted to the ancient classical gods of the ancient world.
But then a few weeks ago I went back, my intention was to photograph the Chill Factor, the massive indoor ski slope just across the road. First I got off the bus went to the loo, then went in search of something to eat, three pieces of Kentucky fried chicken and a large coffee fitted the bill nicely, as I was then on the ground floor I decided to exit through the main entrance, It was then things began to happen.
There was this guy standing reading a book on Christianity, obviously with no intention of going in, I wonder if he had the same thoughts as me about the place, then it occurred to me, why not indeed church in that place especially in the massive restaurant area, what a great place for people to casually wander in and hear something about Christ. You never know what a seed will do when it's planted.
Then I noticed one of the marble lions outside, it had an expression on its face imploring people to come and play ball with it, which I photographed, then things did happen.
My attention was caught by the roofline, the length of which was decorated by the classical forms of nude women, below that was a statue of the god Zeus flanked by a unicorn and a gryphon. Then underneath that was an inscription. "Hold fast that which is good," Ever read those words, they are the words of the Apostle Paul in first Thessalonians, when he is summing up at the end of his epistle. In amongst all the paganism we have a word for word quotation from scripture, and right over the main entrance hall.
Someone had a very Christian sense of humour, or somebody didn't know what they were writing, and the Lord God took a hand in things, bearing witness to Himself to all who could see it, I certainly did.
How wonderfully fitting and scriptural all this is, an Athens, or Corinth, or Ephesus right here in the North of England, the Apostle Paul would have been really at home here. In Athens at the time of Paul's ministry, at the very least there were thirty thousand idols, the Athenians thought they had honoured every known god by erecting statues to them, but just in case they hadn't they erected a plinth with the inscription, "To an unknown god," And Paul being who he was, drew inspiration from this and told them who this unknown God was. Acts 12:22-23, Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, "Men of Athens I perceive that in all things you are very religious, for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore the one whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you." Do visit the Trafford center, then read the whole of Acts chapter seventeen, you'll be inspired.

"...and the Lord God took a hand in things..."

That may well be the most telling phrase in your post!     We know He can use anything, no matter how strange it may seem to us, to accomplish His purpose.
