Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Here's an odd little shot I took from my car while my husband Mark was pumping gas. I had my camera and wanted to try out the digital zoom. From the passenger seat, I pointed it out the window towards the street. These pipes were in the grass next to the sidewalk. Not sure why, but I kinda liked it.

I like it too.  By digital zoom, are you talking about the digital zoom in a P&S camera (as opposed to the optical zoom) or are you referring to a zoom lens on an SLR?

Unfortunately, I don't have any fancy lenses or accessories yet. The only camera I have is my Fujifilm FinePix S5200. When I first got it, a friend recommended to only rely on the optical zoom and to turn off the digital zoom. For this picture, I turned the digital zoom back on for the first time.

I most cases, using digital zoom isn't your best option.  In some, it works fine.  Basically, all digital zoom does is "blow up" the image.  Blow it up too far and you see the pixelizations.

But I still like the image.  Not sure why...it's just different.

Interesting shot. We have those kinds of pipes around too i think they might be for water.

Thanks Marilyn. I just loaded this image into my gallery and was going to link a picture here to it, but guess I didn't do it right.  Anyway, here's the same picture of the pipes after editing with Photoshop:

I like this too Deb.  Interesting to see the old rag and the various wires, etc. all wound around it.

Oh, you're welcome!

Now let's see more experimenting!  :)

Yes I like it too!

As Pat said lets see some more of your experiments.

Debboggy

Hehe, glad you like it, but I haven't been doing much experimenting. I've been trying to learn how to use layers in Photoshop, just to improve my pictures. Once I learn those basics, I'll have a lot more fun playing. :)

Well keep experimenting and enjoy doing it.

I am looking forward to seeing more!
