How to Use This Board (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=5279.0)
Here's our
Twenty-Fourth Challenge for you all.
SUMMER'S END
Details: - This topic was chosen by Becky aka LakeLady who won our last Challenge. The subject of the next Mini Challenge is SUMMER'S END. Becky says, "By this I don't mean autumn colors. I mean things like football, children going to school, school buses, businesses closing for the winter (down here some businesses are really "tourist" attractions and they close Labor Day through Memorial Day). Those are the types of things that mean the end of the summer."
- Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes. If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo. If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it. It's best if your photos are at least 500 pixels wide so that they are easily seen.
- Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.
- The challenge is open now and will be closed to uploads on September 22, 2008 and then we'll vote on them.
- Please tell us the camera you used to take your photo and when you took it. Please only enter photos taken by you.
- Please put a short title above your photo. We need the title for the poll listing.
- Please post only one entry per post. .
- Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge. So start posting. Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!
Remember, this is a fun project!
The Title is "Back To School with A Different Message."

While Driving down Cruise Road in Lawrenceville, I saw this amazing sign :clap: on A Telephone Pole next to Sweetwater Middle School. I'm glad I stopped and took this picture. :yes: It only stayed there for about 3 weeks. :( But someone was bold enough to stand up for the Truth of God's Word. Maybe we need to hear the message or not forget that "Jesus Lives! :yes: :yes: :groupwave: :cheer: :banana: :banana:
The camera was A Nikon D80 and settings were AutoFocus-Shutter Priority.

September Sunrise
[attachimg=#]
Each September I bicycle over to the Imazu River to capture the sun rising over "O-KURO-GAMI-JIMA", the island in the distance. And the cool mornings along with these amazing sunrises tell us that Summer is done and Autumn is peeking around the corner.
In His Grip,
Kevin

The crowds are gone, the mornings are quiet and still. It seems to be easier to
"Be still and know I am God."
[attachimg=#]
Again, the crownds are gone, the only sounds are from the waves and the gulls. Surrounded by His creation, with no other distractions, it seems easier to
Focus on God and hear him

Here in the deep south seasons do change. Most of the time though we tell the changes by when football starts up (of course they have moved it up to August now which is confusing), when school buses begin picking up children (again moved up to August), and maybe by back to school sales.
Here at our house we watch the sun. Our lot runs due east and west. At summers end the sun sits exactly center our lot over the lake. Here is a picture.

Title: Summer's End in Germany's Mountains
I shot this photo on our vacation celebrating our 35 wedding anniversary in September 2006.
Photo taken with Sony A-100; ISO 100, 70mm, f/9.0, 1/160 sec

Title: Summer's End in Alaska
I shot this photo this September, while on a 2 week cruise. I just missed a double rainbow and one was inverted! What a wonderful creation :thumbsup:
Photo taken with Sony A-100, ISO 100, 120mm, f/6.3, 1/250 sec.

Title: Summer's End in Yosemite National Park

Ode To The Hummingbird
[attachimg=#]
When Summer light begins to fade and days are getting shorter. The Hummingbird starts gaining weight knowing Summers over. It's tiny frame has bulged in size for the trip that lies ahead. A long, long journey it must take. It's hidden in his head. The Master Creator has made this little creature to endure. Through endless flights and stormy nights, it's destination sure. So, when you see the Hummingbird Sipping Nectar from a flower. Remember then that Summers End, has finally reached it's hour.
Camera Settings: Nikon D80-Shutter Priority with Flash.

Back to School in Japan
Many students commute by bicycle and most wear uniforms here. I spotted this student at the base of the local shrine, heading down a slight slope, on his way to school yesterday (Tuesday).

Summers Ending On The Hooch
[attachimg=#]
Paddling the Chattahoochee River generally runs from Memorial Day Until Labor Day. There are some that enjoy it so much they may go a little longer. But the Canoe Rentals generally close at Cochran Shoals Area in early September. When I began to see less Paddlers on the River, I know that Summer is coming to an end.

Well, I guess we'll close this and start voting. Not as many entries as last time. :(
Hard topic! (But good one)
Hard choice, I wanted to vote for at least FIVE! :)
This was a challenging challenge! Moving the difficulty level up a bit could help us with our skills a bit, too. <3
Well ... I voted, but y'all are just getting gooder and gooder at this!
WHEW! I didn't realize how difficult this would be. However the images that are here are all good.
