How to Use This Board

Here's our Second  Challenge for you all, suggested by Anna who won the last Challenge.

"THE BLUES"

Details:

  • Show us your best interpretations of any "BLUES" for this challenge--Blues Music, Blue Skies, Blue Flowers, anything Blue!. Here is an opportunity to come up with some fascinating and creative pictures!

  • Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes.  If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo.

  • Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.

  • The challenge is open now and will be locked to uploads on Saturday, May 6th, 2006 and then we'll vote on them.

  • Please put a title in your post for your photos.  We need the title for the poll.

  • Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge.  So start posting.  Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!
Remember, this is a fun project!

Thanks to Anna for suggesting this topic.  Anna was the winner of our last Challenge entitled "Signs of Spring".  Thanks Anna!

Etta, love your shot.   The silhouettes are very strong and I love the way the color blends in the water.

One nitpick; they aren't egrets or herons, they are cormorants, diving birds that catch fish.

They were once widely used in Asia as tame fishers.   The fisherman would put a band aroiund their neck so they couldn't swallow a larger fish, and train the birds to fish for him, in return for bits of food.

Miracles are not contrary to nature, but only contrary to what we know about nature - St. Augustine

Etta Sue

Barbarian ~ My excuse for not knowing what the birds were is they were in Florida.  I was in Florida but from Indiana.  We don't have any of those birds around here in farm country!!
