What an interesting challenge this was that Barbarian chose! You can see all the winners at this link:
http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=8426.msg134438#msg134438
Let's all congratulate everyone who entered and now we await the title of the next challenge that will be chosen by FOTOBIRDER who was the winner of this one!
Congratulations, FOTOBIRDER!!!
How to Use This Board (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=5279.0)
Here's our
Thirty-Second Challenge for you all.
"They don't make them like that, anymore."
Details: - This topic was chosen by Barbarian, who won our last Challenge. The subject of the next Mini Challenge is ""They don't make them like that, anymore."". Barbarian says, "Things that work really well, but are no longer being made, maybe something you have had for a long time, or something that you miss seeing in daily life.
- Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes. If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo. If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it. It's best if your photos are at least 500 to 600 pixels wide so that they are easily seen. Please keep your photos under 175 KB in size.
- Please upload up to 3 entries per member for this challenge.
- The challenge is open now and will be closed to uploads on May 23, 2009 and then we'll vote on them.
- Please tell us the camera you used to take your photo and when you took it. Please only enter photos taken by you.
- Please put a short title above your photo. We need the title for the poll listing. If you want to tell us a bit about your photos, please do that in a separate post so that every post ONLY has the Title and then the Photo and that's all.
- Please post only one entry per post. .
- Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge. So start posting. Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!
Remember, this is a fun project!
PLEASE remember...
Put a title above your photo that we will use in the poll
Put your camera make that you took the photo with below the photo.
If you'd like to tell us a little bit about the photo, please post that in another post that will be moved just before voting.
It will be good to see your photos at least 600 pixels wide but even if they are linked to another site, we'd really like you to keep them under 200 KB (150 to 175 KB is best).

Sure wish I'd had time to pull out a couple of more photos for this challenge, but we've been so busy I just didn't get a chance. My daughter graduated high school Saturday!
I love old things so I love looking at all of the photos in this challenge!
I voted. It wasn't easy!!!! :-\
I voted !!!!!!! :D
That's great Kathy! So happy you finally managed to get onto this site!
I voted also! ^-^
So many nice images and memories attended all these entries. Great topic!
What a GREAT group of photos. Difficult to choose just five. Congratulations to all who entered their photos. Your all winners!!
Bob Traber <3
Lot of switching votes this time. I've never seen that before?
Steve
Will one of the global Moderators please explain why the votes are changing? My picture of the Covered Bridge had lost two votes. I just don't know how it works.
Steve
I have no Idea why that is happening. Right now you have 4 votes. I will contact someone who can help out in this.
Thanks Judy. I've noticed under entries have gone down in votes also. Just never seen this before. The entries aren't in contention. But I was just wondering if there is a glitch in the system. Thanks for your help.
Steve
I'm having some dizzy spells right now but that don't have anything to do with what I know I saw. There was a Button on here that said remove vote. It's gone now. Did anybody else see it.
Steve
LOL You sound like me with dizzy spells. Don't worry everything will come out in the wash.
I don't know Judy. Mine is from inner ear problems. I'm going to have Inner Ear Rehabilitation. What in the world is that? I guess I'll find out.
Thanks for your replies
Steve
Steve, do you have vertigo? I had it a while back - it was the most awful thing ever.
It can work in to Vertigo but it's more like nerve damage in my Trigeminal Nerve. It's called acute Trigeminal Neuralgia.

Steve
That button's always there right after you place your vote. I think it's there for a limited time in case you accidently messed up on your vote, you have time to change it. I think it's just like the edit or modify button for a post that is only there for a short while so you can change something in your post.
We've always had that button showing and people are voting right up to the last minute, Steve. I know that I've hit a radio button at times in error and then changed my vote to the one I meant to vote for. I have no idea who changed their vote but we've always had it.
Anyway, when I saw your post earlier I turned it off.

I've been a member here and voting on these challenges for 3 years now Steve, but never even noticed that there
was a change vote button, so don't feel bad. After reading your post about it though, I did notice that two of my photos each had one less vote than they had the day before also, so no, you're not imagining this vote changing thingie. :em:
Thanks Jim. I thought I was imagining things. I probably am doing that but not in this case.
Steve
Even the vote closing dates keep changing. First it was May 31st. Then it was June 1st and now it's June 2nd. Just wandering why it keeps changing.
Steve
Alright, it's closed for voting.
I'll announce the winner later this evening.
Sorry Pat. I just asking.

Is there anybody out there. I wanted to know what you think about the next challenge.

Maybe Pat hasn't seen it yet. :) Or maybe she's thinking..
Great win Fotobirder. You deserved it with that photo.
Didn't she say she was going to spend a few days with her cousin's daughter, Rachel?
Congratulations Fotobirder/Steve, Pat, and everyone who entered this nostalgic challenge.
I liked the composition of that country church photo (with its leading lines of the road and trees directing our attention to the main subject) the minute I saw it. :)
Thanks Everyone. I just came upon that church while traveling in the mountains. I'm having trouble finding it again. Anyway, I sent the email to Pat like she requested. We'll wait until she returns.
May all have a blessed day
Steve
These were all so wonderful.
I do so like the image of the Country Church. I also like the emotion that it brings up in me when I see it. Lovely all around.
Becky
Congratulations, Steve! I have to say, liked your "Great Cars and Cheap Gas" shot better.
And I am looking forward to seeing what fun images the next challenge will bring us!
In His Grip,
Kevin
Congratulations, Fotobirder; that one was one of my favorites. A great choice.
Congratulations, Fotobirder, a very pleasing photo! :)
Well, for goodness sake! :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[
I've been watching and watching for a PM from you Steve (fotobirder) and since I've not received one, I decided to come in here and see what was up!
I'm just not sure about this! Pat's Choice?
Wow! I'll have to think about it.
Thank you so much for the kind words.
That is an honour to be sure.
Come on, Pat! I just know you'll come up with something really challenging!
I know this probably isn't the right place to put this. But I need your prayers. I went in this past week for Vesicular Rehab. That's Rehab on the Inner ear. The exercises mad e me so sick that I had to stop doing them. But I believe this is God's way of letting them know what is causing the problem. Thank God that this isn't happening to me full time. When I get away into the quietness, I feel much better. This has nothing to do with me wanting Pat to pick the challenge Subject. In my opinion, anyone who has two beautiful pictures in the top four deserves first place. Anyway, I know you'll we Pray for me. Thanks in advance for being such a caring group.
May the Lord bless & keep all of you in his hands
Steve
