How to Use This Board

Here's our
35th Challenge for you all.

"JOY OF CHILDREN"

Details:

  • This topic was chosen by Croppy7, who won our  last Challenge. He chose the new subject of "The Joy of Children". .  crpoppy says, "I love being a grandpa, GOD has blessed me with 7 grands. I would like the new challenge to be, The joy of childhood. "

  • Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes.  If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo.  If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it.  It's best if your photos are at least 500 to 600 pixels wide so that they are easily seen.  Due to our bandwidth limits, Please keep your photos under 150 KB in size.

  • Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.

  • The challenge is open now and will be closed to uploads on August 16, 2009  and then we'll vote on them.

  • Please tell us the camera you used to take your photo and when you took it.  Please only enter photos taken by you.

  • Please put a short title above your photo.  We need the title for the poll listing.  If you want to tell us a bit about your photos, please do that in a separate post so that every post ONLY has the Title and then the Photo and that's all.

  • Please post only one entry per post/message.

  • Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge.  So start posting.  Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!
Remember, this is a fun project!

I'll be back later for this one .... gotta think about my choices.

Jeanne Lee

And, Jane, it won't be easy!  What a fantastic array of photos of children!

JudyB

I am having trouble seeing the pictures.  Nothing to do with the site, it is dial up and a very slow computer.  the pictures I have seen are fabulous.

Jeanne Lee

Judy, that's too bad that you can't see all the pictures.  If you wait long enough do they all come through?
Click for Corinth, New York Forecast" border="0" height="41" width="127

Jane Walker

I have the same situation ... but, yes, if I wait long enough they do come through ...,
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Fotobirder

Only 5 votes with all the great photos. It would be easier with 10. It was very hard but I will try and do my best.

Steve

JudyB

No I can wait forever.... Even refresh doesn't help.  It is my computer I know that.  Would like to get a new one or maybe add some speed, ram or whatever it is called to speed up the works.

Jane Walker

I know exactly what you mean, Judy.   :-\  Fortunately, I have a grandson who works with IT and he wants to fix gramma up with new hardware and upgrade the operating system ... I just have to get my computer to him -- in Sacramento!  That may be a while.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Don

If you are on dial up that is the problem. The speed of the computer has nothing to do with being able to surf the net. The problem is with the isp or traffic on the net. Thank God that dial up is a thing of the past for me. Been there and done that. I don't think I could go back to dial up now.

There's a problem in computing the voting . That is unless 2 people only made 1 selection each. The vote total should be 15 and not 7.

Just curious on how it is tabulated

Steve

Jeanne Lee

Steve, I believe it's done automatically by the software.  It's possible someone didn't vote for five before clicking on "submit".  :(
Click for Corinth, New York Forecast" border="0" height="41" width="127

JudyB

Yea Jeanne I did that once and I wasn't able to go back and fix it.  It was an "Oh Well"! situation.

Don I do agree it is the connection.  There is no high-speed in this area in the foreseeable future.  This is something I have learned to live with.  There are too many other things that take over the  thoughts.

Jeanne Lee

Right, Judy.  Once you click on "Submit" there's no going back.

Maybe it's time for a reminder on how to vote.  Separate post coming up.   :)
Click for Corinth, New York Forecast" border="0" height="41" width="127

Jeanne Lee

REMINDER - PLEASE NOTE

When you vote for your five choices, click on all five before clicking on "Submit".

Clicking on "Submit" locks your vote in and you cannot get back to add any choices or to change anything.

So be very sure you have your vote the way you want it before you click on "Submit".

I'm glad I happened to stop in here today because I had been waiting for the usual email that says "We're Now Voting", but never got it. Maybe other members didn't get that notice either, which may be why only 6 people have voted thus far?
Anyway, I now have voted!  :D

Jim, I'm sorry about the lack of email.  That must be something Pat does automatically, but I don't have access to her list.  In fact until you mentioned it I never gave it a thought.  I hope more people will be "stopping by" and find out we're voting.   :(

Aaaagh!  I had two windows open, one to look at the pictures, the other to vote.  I had my last vote and put it in the wrong window.  So I only voted for 1. :(   Is there any way to fix this??

Jeanne Lee

Nita, to the best of my knowledge once you click that button it's a done deal.  Maybe if Pat gets back in time she can do something.

Congratulations there Gator!

For those of you that may not know, I invited Gator here about a year ago after sharing our testimonies with one another on another photography forum.  We have come to know one another on photography boards and share a lot of the same interest.  One of the interest that we share and give one another a hard time about is college football.  I am afraid that at the end of this football season, I will yet again be contacting my friend to congratulate him on his beloved Gators (they look really good).  But we will cross that bridge at a later time, for now I would like to congratulate my friend Gator on his win.

Congratulations to all that participated and won.

Looking forward to Gator's subject for the next challenge.

Congratulations to TTgator and all the winners. :groupwave: :groupwave: My computer has been down for over a week with a virus. I found out the Hard way that Norton and some of the other Virus Protections doesn't help for major Spyware attacks. Be aware! If some thing pops up on your screen saying That you need Advanced Spyware and you can run their product for free. Turn your computer off immediately. While you're running their product, they are loading all these viruses like Trojan onto your computer and stealing all you're information. Don't give them your Credit Card to buy their product. They are just stealing all your info. I found out it's a complete fake page that looks professional. Also0, if you hit Alt/F4 it will take you out of it. It may be time to see if you're protected against these Viruses. It goes right over the top of Norton and others like it. I'm happy to be back and see that a great picture won First prize. Very well done TTGator and all the rest of the winners. As always, all the entries were winners.
