JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

How to Use This Board

Here's our
41st Challenge for you all.

"Details, Details"

Fine points to remember:

  • This topic was chosen by shutterbugmom, who won our  last Challenge.

    She explains:  "I'm looking for close-up and macro images for this challenge.  Use whatever camera & equipment you have, to capture the details of whatever subject you choose.  Even most point-and-shoot cameras now have a macro setting, so hopefully everyone can do this challenge.  If your camera doesn't have a macro setting, or macro lens, just get as close to your subject as your camera will allow, with your camera zoomed in all the way, and take your shot.  I would also challenge you to try and take at least one or even more of the images specifically for this challenge, if you can.  Also, please do not enter images that have been entered in previous challenges on this website, and please no text.  If this is your first time trying close-up photography, I hope you enjoy learning something new.  I hope everyone has fun with this one...start shooting!"

  • Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes.  If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo.  If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it.  It's best if your photos are at least 500 to 600 pixels wide so that they are easily seen.  Please keep your photos under 175 KB in size.

  • Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.

  • The challenge is open now and will be closed to uploads on February 7, 2010  and then we'll vote on them.

  • Please tell us the camera you used to take your photo and when you took it.  Please only enter photos taken by you.

  • Please put a short title above your photo.  We need the title for the poll listing.  If you want to tell us a bit about your photos, please put it below your picture.

  • Please post only one entry per post/message.

  • Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge.  So start posting.  Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!
    Remember, this is a fun project!

Back Off Buddy

[attachimg=#]

I'm leaving wednesday to go to Florida. The weather is dark and dreary here. So,
my first entry is an old photo when I was using a Nikon D70 and 28-200 Tamron Lens. Using the Close Up selection,  I was able to get this photo from about 12 Inches away . I promise not to put all these words on any more entries. But I had to explan this one.

Mother Gator With Hatchling

[attachimg=#]

I did try one time to get close enough to get a picture of a Mother gator with a hatchling on her back. I learned at that time that they could jump about 4 feet out of the water onto the ground. I was able to jump a little farther. Now, I keep my distance.

Since you can only list one picture as the winner, put his there. I loved his picture from the beginning. I just wanted the opportunity to do this. Congratulations to all the winners. I hope this is satisfactory with everyone. Thanks to everyone who voted for my entry. God's Word is truth, You can trust and believe what he says more than any human word!!!--"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him;I will be with him in trouble,I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
