Have you seen the winners of our
"God in the Details" challenge?

What wonderful macro and close-up images and we hope that all of our members--past and present--will come and view them and congratulate our winners!

Here's a link to see the winners:  http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=9764.msg148990#msg148990

How to Use This Board

Here's our
44th Challenge for you all.

"God is in the Details"

Details:

  • This topic was chosen by Rocky0728, who won our  last Challenge.

    His explanation:  "The details sometimes reveal the most beauty! The veins on a leaf, the wrinkles on an old woman's hand, a butterfly on a flower, the bark on a tree, a dew drop on a rose--all reveal wonderful details that we sometimes overlook because we are looking at the big picture. Hopefully, those who participate in this challenge will be reminded that our great God cares about us so much that nothing escapes His notice, that there is no area of our lives or our world in which He is not active."

  • Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes.  If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo.  If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it.  It's best if your photos are at least 500 to 600 pixels wide so that they are easily seen.  Please keep your photos under 175 KB in size.

  • Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.

  • The challenge is open now and will be closed to uploads on April 30, 2010   and then we'll vote on them.

  • Please tell us the camera you used to take your photo and when you took it.  Please only enter photos taken by you.

  • Please put a short title above your photo.  We need the title for the poll listing.  If you want to tell us a bit about your photos, please put it below your picture.

  • Please post only one entry per post/message.

  • Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge.  So start posting.  Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!

    Remember, this is a fun project!

Monarch Butterfly Cocoon

[attachimg=#]

A crystilis is a cocoon for a monarch butterfly caterpillar like the one your photo. The butterfly lays an egg which hatches into a caterpillar that spins a crystilis and that hatches to a beautiful butterfly. God is truly in the details.
I have attached a crystilis photo.

[attachimg=#]

This badly beat-up image of Jesus was found in the garbage. All the holes, cracks, missing parts, dirt, stains and discoloration remind me of my sins and my human imperfections. The disheartening details are also constant reminders of our Lord's agony when He died on the cross to redeem us.

As I said "That Bee picture was going to be hard to beat." That has to be one of the best pictures that I've ever seen of A Bee and Flowers. Thanks for all that voted and all the winners. Now Bhallo7 remember you can also enter this next challenge even though you chose it. I say that because I see some of the winners not enter pictures in their own challenge and wonder if they know they can enter.Congratulations to all the winners. Early morning Showers was another great picture. You could almost feel those rain drops on the leafs. Now, let's make the next challenge even better. Katleen, keep entering the pictures like the Hummingbirds. As a Birder Photographer, I drooled over that picture. To all who entered, keep up the Good work. And a big thank you to Jeanne and all who helped her. Sorry, I left out Jim's picture. With so many marriages going south these days, what a wonderful picture of faithfulness and commitment. :yes: :yes: :grouphug: :grouphug: :groupwave: :groupwave: :cp: :cp:

Congratulations to bhall for a great photo showing just a few of the details of God's glorious creation! All of the photos were wonderful interpretations of what I had in mind in issuing this particular challenge. As soon as I saw bhall's photo of the bee, I said to myself "Uh oh! This one's going to be hard to beat!"

Every detail in our world was put here for a reason, and to me, it is so worshipful just to think of how a Loving Hand put all of it in place--some of it for a very specific reason--and some of it "just because." I heard someone say once that God could have created the world in black and white, but He choose to add color! And aren't we so grateful He did? So "thank you" to all who entered this particular challenge, and for capturing for the rest of us just a small portion of the beauty of our world.

Wow!

Congratulations to all the winners!  I love that bee, Bob!

But so many good ones here and due to my off and on internet connections in the past three weeks, I didn't get to vote!  :(    One of my favorites was the Giraffe detail.  I love giraffes and that was a great photo, Kathleen.

But now we're looking forward to hearing what you choose for the next topic, Bob!

Well done everyone!

Congrats to everyone who entered well-captured images of God's awesome details.  I, too, wish there had been more entries, but it was hard enough to choose as it was. LOL
