Details: - From shutterbugmom: "The new challenge topic is: "Texture" Texture is defined as the tactile quality of the surface of an object--how it feels if touched; however, I want to see the texture in an image. The texture in the image should be obvious; for instance, we should be able to tell by viewing the image, just how it would feel if we could reach out and touch it. It can be smooth, rough, sharp, rounded, gnarled, wrinkled etc...
Try to take pictures for this challenge if you have time. If you don't, go ahead and look through your past images. You can surely grow as a photographer by critiquing your already captured images just as you can by taking new ones. Ask yourself why a certain image does or does not show texture. Objects can have texture, but that doesn't always mean it comes across in an image. (Hint: lighting has a lot to do with this.)
Don't forget the other basics of photography that make a great photo, such as a clear subject, precise focus, correct exposure, composition, etc...(Please no HDR images for this particular challenge)"
- Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes. If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo. If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it.
- Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.
- If you possibly can, please tell us the camera you used to take your photo and when you took it. But if you don't know, please post the picture anyway. We want to see your photos. :) Please only enter photos taken by you.
- The challenge is open now and will be locked to uploads on Monday April 20, 2015 and then we'll vote on them.
- Please put a title in your post for your photos. We need the title for the poll.
- Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge. So start posting. Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!
