Title: Dentures
Post by: All4Him on May 21, 2008, 08:46:24 PM
Here I am 34 years old  with no teeth and feeling like i'm about to aggressivly attack (gum) anything that moves near me :D
Saturday (tooth removal day) came and went, the procedure went rather well except for the fact that my dentist was recovering from a bad case of gout in his dominant hand, I recieved about 20 jabs to my mouth, enough to send my heart racing and my whole body trembling for the following half hour of tooth removals :o, came home and spent 3 days ...o.k. I won't go into the gory details, those that have been there done that will likely never want to be reminded of it again.

My question is...is it usually this uncomfortable to keep dentures in days after the tooth extractions? i'm off to the denture man in a couple of hours so he can make some adjustments (hopefully not to my jaw after i've finished screaming his clinic roof down).
Also, I look like i'm wearing a full on mouthguard, my lips cannot even meet to close when the dentures are in, I look like a cross between Mary Tyla moor and the Mad Hatter.
Please tell me i'm normal,  :'(

When I had my teeth out, I had general anaesthetic, felt funny for a long time afterwards, but on the plus side I could taste food like I'd never tasted it before. The dentures I havenow are my second set, when I got them I really couldn't wear them they seemed far too big to fit in my mouth, know what I did? Got to work on them with a file, then a needle file, then emory paper, I must have reduced the size of them by a third, and they fit perfectly.
