Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

As I have a disabled pass bus travel doesn't cost me anything, that's travel throughout the whole of England, as I was down town today and had no particular desire to go home, I decided to catch the Bolton bus and see what to do from there.
When I got to Bolton, there was a bus in at the back of me going into Manchester's Shudehill bus station, it was where I took the picture of Britains First Skyscraper. I thought there might be a chance of some shooting (no not the drugs related kind of shooting) photo shooting, had a short walk up towards a fairly tall building a mustard coloured block of apartments, with an overhanging glass roof, maybe a penthouse, don't know. On my way back, it started raining, not much, then it came down heavier and heavier, umbrella time, got back to the bus station, and there was a colourful scene right across the road, old buildings and shops, with thaffic lights on red and cars with their tailights on, and all looking through a downpour of rain, it looked good so shot a few frames then decided to head back to Bolton. I thought I've come all this way just to make one picture, but there again if the picture works it will have been well worth it, nearly finished this film now, so I'll post it when the slides are processed.

 Sounds like an interesting day.

Interesting to say the least, came back on one of those bendy buses, they're like a road train with two saloons connected with a central turntable you can walk through from front to back. Manchester is interesting in that you can get lost and then arive at somewhere you know within minutes.

It sounds like fun to roam around, and take pictures of whatever looks interesting.

I'll tell you what as well, there is a series of minibuses that are free to anybody to ride on that take you round Manchester city center, so if your tired or lost hop on one, and have a run round and familiarise yourself with the route map, get off anywhere, and jump on another, its fun, then get yourself a Greater Manchester day ranger ticket, and for £2.50p you can run about all day, to Wigan, to see the pier (canal wharfe of George Orwell fame, The Road to Wigan Pier, actually Wigan Pier meant the pithead I think) or down to Stockport to see glass Aztec hi tech pyramid, and when you get tired of that, it takes you to Manchester airport and a plane home. The American tourist, "Gee this place looks bigger than I thought," i.e. Manchester airport. Local wit, "I' it looks bigger since we took thatched roof off."

There are quite a number of ways down into Manchester by bus, from Bolton there are the bendy buses, one that goes all round the houses, takes two hours to travel ten miles, as the crow flies that is. Then there is the scenic route, right down the Irwell valley from Nelson and Burnley, the buses that run this way, are called, The Witch Way, and the whole fleet of buses are named after those feuding families better known as the Pendle witches, they are liveried in black and red and have a huge logo on the side of a witch on a broomstick flying across a full moon, must admit though they are a comfortable ride, with leather upholstered seats, and run regularly at ten minute intervals. In Burnley there is a local fleet of ultra modern buses, they call starships, and on the back, they have quotes from Startrek, my favourite being, "Its a bus Jim, but not as we know it." I've put in a little montage of some scenes in Manchester I created in Picassa. I wanted to make this all one topic but I can't find anyway of modifying my topics once I've posted them and they've been posted for a while.
