The amazing mosaics and the lack of great stained-glass windows made it look more Byzantine than Catholic, in my estiimation, but it's incredibly beautiful. There were amazing images everywhere one looked. The mosaics were the work of one artist and his son. The father died before the work could be finished, and the son worked on for some years alone to complete the job.
Mrs. B got the best shot, darn it.

A very impressive cathedral. I'm not sure if I could choose any one photo as "best". They're all great.

How old is it Barbarian? Beautiful shots, !like Jeanne not sure I can pick a favourite!
Ground was broken in 1907, but it wasn't completed until1914. So it's about 100 years old.
Some of your photos would be good in the current challenge. History (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=12963.0) and what Max was looking for was historic buildings as much as anything. Take a look through what photos you have and enter some! We would love to see you there!
