JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

How to Use This Board

Here's our
63rd Challenge for you all.

"A Rose By Any Other Name"

"rosebud"

  • This topic was chosen by bhall07, who won our last Challenge.

What a wonderful variety of subjects this offers!  Thank you bhall07 for suggesting this new topic!

Please read carefully the "Details" about what is expected, and the rules for posting your photos.

    Details as described by bhall07:
"A favorite subject of most photographers is flowers and I wold love to see photos of all kinds of blooming flowers."

Let's encourage folks by letting them know we're enjoying their entries.

  • Use the attachment feature to show your photos (see directions above in the link to "How to Use This Board") in your post or link to them from your gallery or an offsite location that allows linking using the image codes.  If you have trouble, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo.    It's best if your photos are at least 500 to 600 pixels wide so that they are easily seen.  Please keep your photos under 175 KB in size.

  • If you have your photo in your gallery, please don't use the attachment feature as that puts the photo on our server twice but rather link to it.  Instructions for doing this are in the "How to" section.  CLICK HERE  If you need any help, please contact a moderator (name in blue) or an administrator (name in red) and we'll help you post your photo.

  • Please upload up to 4 entries per member for this challenge.

  • The challenge is open now and will be closed to uploads on December 13, 2011   and then we'll vote on them.

  • Please tell us the camera you used to take your photo and when you took it.  Please only enter photos taken by you.

  • Please put a short title above your photo.  We need the title for the poll listing.  If you want to tell us a bit about your photos, please put it below your picture.

  • Please post only one entry per post/message.

  • Of course, we're going to see who is posting the photos so this is not an anonymous challenge.  So start posting.  Click on the "Reply" button below and start this challenge!

Let's ALSO NOT put any photos in this challenge labeled "NOT AN ENTRY" or anything that is not to be voted on.

Remember, this is a fun project!

Glow From Within

"California Poppy"

This was taken many years ago using a low resolution DiMAGE camera. We were at San Juan Capistrano (no swallows - wrong time of year)

I have many absolutely wonderful images from that vacation

Always as a Couple

After taking I-duuno-how-many photos of fuscias I've finally decided that they are happiest in pairs. Aren't we all? If we are lucky we have two pairs - our spouse and our Lord.

Ever try to title an artichoke before? Maybe we should have a "title this" contest. (and if you have, forgive me - I've been out of touch a while)

Just wondering if photos with cut roses/flowers in them are ok for this challenge, or do you only want pix of flowers that are still growing in soil?

What amazing floral photos!!!!  I've just so enjoyed looking at them all.

I was going to enter another one but with this array, I don't think I'll consider it.

Thank you folks!

Just a little note on my entries 'Purple Velvet' and 'Orange Glory': both are tiny flowers, about 3 quarters of an inch across (or less) and have been captured on my macro lense.

I have enjoyed seeing all this incredible diversity of colour and design of flowers. God is a creative genius! :)
