Congratulations Ken on Photo of the Year. There was just something about that photo that was very special. I loved it from the beginning. Again you are very worthy of this prize!

Thanks Steve & Buddy.  I framed it as best as I could without trespassing, but the real challenge was keeping the camera steady.  The temperature was frigid and the wind strong, so holding the tripod down without resonating my shivering was the toughest part :)

Big congrats, Ken!
Beautiful shot. I have a shot from top of Haleakala taken under similar conditions. I know how you felt.

They say.... "that a great painting or photo tells a story"..... this not only tells the story it sends along the shivers and teeth chattering to go with it!  Great shot.  I don't think I'd like to live there, but thanks for sharing the moment and congratulations on the win!  Tisie/Shirley

Congratulations Ken.  I have always been intrigued by abandoned farmhouses, wondering how many generations lived there, what happened to the family, etc.  You have truly caught the essence of the isolation, the lifestyle, and, your description of the conditions while capturing this shot gave me shivers.  Good job!!

Tell me more, Delphine!  Do you know this house, or is it simply reminiscent of where you grew up?

Ken, I have often heard the comment, "That painting looks like a photograph."  But this time I must say your photograph looks like a painting!  And the signature adds to that.  Now, this is NOT a criticism!  I love the photo and it makes me want to do a painting similar!  Congratulations on your well-deserved award!
