Title: The Spinster
Post by: BigSkyKen on September 06, 2014, 12:21:48 PM
Just because I know so many here appreciate a good bug, I thought I'd share my front porch pet.  This is a Cat-Face Spider, mending her web.

I'm going to have to stop checking this topic!   ;D  Good picture, though, Ken.

Oh, my!  Awesome capture!  Was this taken at night?

I've never heard of a spider called that.

Thanks Jeanne and Pat.  Please don't stop checking this page, Jeanne...someday I will post a bug you will really like :)

Yes Pat, it was a night photo with flash.  The reason behind the "cat face" moniker is that the pattern on the spider's back (I guess that would be its back!) kind of looks like a cat's face. If you use your imagination, you might be able to see the "cat" in this shot I took in 2011.

I can see it clearly!

Wow!  If I'm sure I won't get bitten, I don't mind taking photos of these critters.  LOL
