Post by: Marilyn on April 16, 2003, 08:40:05 PM
Orange-Pineapple Salsa

1 small can pineapple chunks
1 orange
1 onion chopped fine
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
1 clove garlic minced
2 toasted seeded jalapeno peppers
1/2 teas. salt

Toast and seed peppers chop fine peel orange and cut each section in half.
Drain pinapple chunks put it all in a bowl and mix let stand at least 2 hours to allow the salt to draw out liquid from the oranges and pineapple chunks.

This is really good if it sits until the next day.

I can't imagine pineapple and oranges with onions, jalapeno and garlic.  What do you eat with this?  Is this a dip like regular salsa to eat with corn chips?  Seems like it is sweet and sour?? ??? ???

It's not a dip and neither is regular salsa, you put it on you food, like spanish rice beans tacos enchiladas etc. I guess you could use it as a dip,  it doesn't taste ike sweet and sour, you'd besurprised how good it does taste.

Perhaps, I will try it.  When I figure out what to put it on...
