This tutorial is for people who a want to add profile info next to their posts such as an avatar, signature, and location info.

The page for editing your info is here (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?action=profile).
The most important thing that can be added to your forum info is your avatar. It is displayed beside all your posts and it is what people will identify you by.
To add an avatar, you can pick one of the default ones, upload one of your own via URL (not recommended unless you know what a URL is). Or you can upload one from your computer (Recommended).
Since the first method is extremely self explanatory, I won't write about that one.

As for the second method (URL), if you don't have a picture uploaded on the internet somewhere such as PhotoBucket, or an online gallery, this method won't do you any good. But assuming you do have a picture online, and you have it's URL, all you have to do is paste the image URL into the text box.

The last method for avatar uploading is the best in my opinion. All you have to do is click the browse button, and navigate through your computer directories/folders untill you find the picture you want to upload.

Note: It's usually on your desktop.
Easy stuff right?
Now, onto your personal text which is displayed below your avatar. This part is REALLY easy. Just find where it says "Personal Text", and enter your text into the text field.

Another important thing to fill in is your signature. It is displayed below all your posts. People usually put links, a favorite Bible verse, or something that shows your personality.
All you have to do to add a signature, is find where it says "Signature" and fill in the text area. Super easy.

Hi!
I need some help with editing my profile. I am unable to edit anything except my password. The only thing that comes up under Modify Profile is Account Related Settings. :-\
I believe that you won't be able to make any changes to your profile until you've made at least five posts in the forum. This change has been made in order to stop spammers from putting links in their signatures, etc. to porn sites and their business ventures.

Yes, only two to go and then you can edit your profile. We have been and actually still are being bombarded by spammers and some porn and we just can't have that and had to do this as a drastic measure. ;)

If you go to your profile settings (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?action=profile;u=1020;sa=forumProfile) page, you should see the avatar fields near the top under "Forum Profile Information". It should appear as follows...

If you can see that, click the "I will upload my own avatar" bubble.

Now browse the files on your computer for the picture you wish to use, then upload it.

When the file is uploaded go down to the bottom of the profile settings page, and click the "Change profile" button.
