Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

For all Paint Shop Pro Users

Many of you use Paint Shop Pro as your preferred software for resizing photos and compressing but many are unaware of exactly how to do this.

Because of this, we are sharing with you some simple steps  that you might like to print out and keep close by to make this process easier.

All changes must be made BEFORE compressing.  Compressing is the very last step that you make before uploading your photo

Here are some steps for you:

  • Open photo in Paint Shop Pro.

  • Make ALL of your changes that you wish to make whether it be cropping out some of the background  or lightening if the photo is too dark.

  • Most photos coming from a digital camera or after being scanned are much larger than this site's preferred size.  Click on Image/Resize and type in 600 for the largest side. The other dimension will automatically change in ratio to the original size of the photo. This is the same if the photo is wider than high...just type in 700 for the width of the photo.

  • After resizing, your photo might not be as sharp as the original so, go to Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen.

  • If you wish to add a border or frame, this is when you should do that.  BUT if you add a frame or a border, you have now made your photo larger than the number of  pixels on its larger side so now you must resize it again.  So, click on Image/Resize, type in 700 for the largest side, and then you might have to sharpen it again so click on Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen.

  •   After you have made all of the changes you wish to make and you are satisfied that this is the way that you want us all to see the photo, it's time for compressing since photos must not be more than 160K in size for the Christian Photographers website.  Go to File/Export/JPEG Optimizer and click upwards in the little box until photo size is 160.000 or less (NOT OVER THIS)and then click on OK.

  • You will be prompted to name your photo and this is when you do it.  Never save with the original photo name or you will re-write over your photo and lose the large one.  So add a letter such as "a" or "b" after the camera file name or even re-name it entirely.

  • Upload your photo to your linking site and let us see it!
All photos posted that are over 160KB will be changed into links by Global Moderators and/or Administrators.
