Shoutbox

Oldiesmann: Just now realized I didn't have this set up properly... Only guests and regular users could see it and nobody could post shouts. Should be fixed now! Jun 22 2019 8:00pm

Oldiesmann: Added a shoutbox for all to enjoy. I think we had one here years ago but don't remember why we got rid of it Jun 15 2019 1:26am

Here's all the info you need about accessing and using the new gallery. As always if you have any questions, just ask :)

To get to the gallery: Click the "Gallery" item in the menu above.

To access your gallery: Go to the gallery and click the "MYGALLERY" button.

If you had pictures in the previous gallery, you will see an "Imported" category within your gallery (except for the few of you who had sub-albums, in which case you'll see those instead). You can click on this category to see all of your images, or click "[Edit]" to change the title, description, etc.

If you did not have images in the previous gallery, you will need to create a category within your gallery first before you can add photos. To do this, click "Add Category" in the "Gallery Admin Panel" section near the bottom of the page. You can also do this if you wish to add a new category.

To upload an image:
Go to the gallery and click the "ADD IMAGE" button or select the "Add Picture" option from the "Gallery" menu above. Select the desired category and whether you want to upload a single image or multiple images (up to 3 at a time). Currently images can be 2000px in height and/or width (anything larger will get resized) and up to 5MB in size (though this might change depending on the desires of Pat and the others).

If you choose to add a single image you will be able to add a title, description and keywords, choose whether or not to be notified of comments and choose to rotate the image (this is useful if you have a landscape photo in portrait orientation). If you choose to add multiple images, you will only be able to choose the title and description (though you can add keywords and choose to be notified of comments later).

To find the code to link to an image in your gallery, browse to the image and click on the thumbnail to view it. At the bottom of the page you will see a section labeled "Image Linking Codes" with three boxes:
"BB Code" - this is the code to insert just the image.
"BB Thumbnail Code" - inserts a thumbnail of the image that users can click on to view the full sized image.
"BB Medium Image Code" - inserts the medium-sized version of the image, which users can click on to view the full sized version

To copy the code, click the icon to the right of the appropriate box and then hold down CTRL and press "C" (or CMD and C if you're on a Mac), or right-click in the box and choose "Copy". You can then paste the code in the post box.

To delete an image: Browse to the image and click the "DELETE" button near the top (above the image title)

To use an image as the thumbnail for its category: Browse to the image and click "SET AS CATEGORY THUMBNAIL".

To upload a new version of an image, or to change the title, description, keywords, etc.: Browse to the image and click "EDIT".

To view all images that you've uploaded, along with statistics: Go to the gallery and click the "MYIMAGES" button.

I've sinned greatly, but Christ's for real, baby, it's a wonder He saved me and just didn't hate me, so won't you tell Him 'Save me!' and please stand up?... - J. Jackson (http://www.apologetix.com for more info).

One further update. I increased the max thumbnail size to 200x200 (it was previously 120 for width and 78 for height), which should make it easier to see the details of the photos in the random images block.
