Thanks for visiting this area of our site to share prayer requests and items for praise!

I am God, and there is none else;...there is none like Me...My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.

God is the only absolute sovereign in the universe. No force, or plan, or purpose alters His will.

We need to be ever aware of this fact; for in its recognition lies comfort, guidance, and restraint for ourselves.

How fortunate for us that His sovereign will never runs contrary to His perfect and personal love for us.

The day of our coming into the world, and the day of our departing, are according to His sovereign will.

The human forces that seem to legislate the things that "happen" to us are simply His tools through which His loving and sovereign will is exercised.

Greetings Jane Walker Consider yourself a member of the 'night Owls club'.

And after you and Larry posting, I make three posting  :)

Rebot

Greetings Larry   I thought you must touch type, by the posts you have on the site.

I learned years ago to type, like you on a typewriter, but the skills came in for good use with computer keyboards.   I still typed with my job, not as much as those in my profession do now, as my  profession sees both ladies and gents in the same profession having lots of paperwork to do, but that takes them away from the job they and I were trained to do.

Have I ever said what my job is or was?

Yes this will be my last posting on this forum...I have no clue as to why everyone assumes i was " venting, " when all i was doing was making my list of things that have recently happened over the past few years, doing the same as what Marilyn had posted, in fact it was Marilyn I was replying to, just letting her know that i understand and commiserate, as we had both had ourselves a few bad years with various things happening, one after the other...Why anyone would assume I was so called " venting.." and attacked me and my post but never attacked Marilyns post for the same reason...

Please reconsider, Jackie.  I don't think it was meant as an attack.  I understood what you were posting, and I know the terrible circumstances you have endured in the past several years. As far as I'm concerned, you were just replying to Marilyn and identifying with her.  Please stay with us and let us help you grieve in your own way.  <3

It has been noted before that the written word is completely void of facial expression or tone of voice.  So difficult to grasp the author's intention, and easy to misunderstand.  :-\

Jackie when I used the word Vent It was for lack of a better word coming  to my mind.I  thank you so much for understanding  what I was says and I know how you much feel with all those things happening in your life. My heart goes out to you as your experiences  were so much more closer to  home to just like mine. Please reconsider  and not leave this group. I am sorry your feeling were hurt by our words.

We have another hot day here today and it looks like this is going to last for the balance of the week.  I got half of the awn mowed, and will finish it today.  Why you ask did I only do half?  Well there is I think about 3 or 4 acres that I mow. I love the time on the lawn tractor, it gives me time to pray and reminisce about other times I have mowed with a child on my knee.

When I vacuumed yesterday I didn't know the card out of my computer had fallen on the floor, I didn't see it as I worked, till the vacuum spit it out back out.  It has been damaged, and there is no way that I know of to retrieve the pictures.  This is disappointing, but not life threatening! LOL

Again I ask for prayer for Heather and her husband Jon.  He has been in a lot of pain, and at this point we don't know the cause.

John "retired" from driving truck a number of years ago.  In exchange he has picked up school bus driving, Defensive driving courses, part time driving for another company, working with a neighbour/friend taking the hay off the fields, and the occasional limo trip.  My dad used to say "John don't retire, you will be busier that before you were prior to retiring!"  His words are so true.

I must go and finish the job outside!  Have a great day folks, stay cool!

Hi everyone.  We are in for a really hot day up to about 100 degrees.  With the heat factor yesterday it got up to 107.  I was sure glad I did not have to get outside yesterday.  [/font]

Yesterday was a great day and then it became a very sad day when we got the call that our dear friend Doris had passed away from the effects of Alzheimer's.  We had become wonderful friends and she and her husband were surely used by God as his angels' to  us in a great time of need.  The Alzheimer's destroyed her very quickly.  Then I heard from the daughter of my best friend that he was not dismissed from the Mental Health Unit at the hospital and what is going to happen is still undecided.  My concern now is not for him but for his wife and two daughters and his son.  Fortunately I know Betty is a very strong Christian woman and I am sure she is seeking God's guidance and knowing that God does provide the answers.

We had a plan for today so Pat could get her hair cut and I was doing to do some shopping if I could get a riding electric cart.  Scott had gotten up early and was at Lowe's and called me and on the spot we decided to go to Walmart then and he came out and it was cool and no problem getting the electric cart. It worked great and that is what we will do at least during the summer.  Pat had forgotten to put in her food order so that wasn't going to happen until tomorrow so I could buy things without  out concern of duplication.  Then she called the Beauty shop and found the stylist she wanted was off on vacation.  So suddenly the day has really switched around.

]I have developed a tooth ache and just called and was able to get an appointment at 1:15 Monday, the first appointment after lunch.  I think that involves a bridge and a crown so will have a decision to make about what I want to do.

My lovely lady volunteer was here for about and hour.  The volunteer supervisor wasn't able to make it.  I will read all of the postings since yesterday but am going to bypass general commens today.  Tomorrow should be quieter but have to stay flexiable.  Pat is fixing ribs in the crock pot for our dinner this evening and a nice corn salad and all of that about did her in.

Carol

Hello!  I was lost in here and couldn't find myself  :D   Happy to find myself online once again.

We had oldest son spend three days with us and that is such a treat to have any of the family stay for a visit.  Today, Jesus (pronounced Heysue in Spanish) came and cleaned carpet.  What a treat - it is so hard to finish the job anymore.  He had not raised his price from three years ago - he wants to keep us older customers.  Such a nice family man.

Tomorrow is the 4th and there will be lots of airplanes around here since we live north of the Air Force Academy.  Probably a few girls piloting too - hooray for the girls.

Judy:  I do want to thank you for prayers.  It is helpful already - our son feels a bit better after doctor appointments.

Another son damaged his knee - wouldn't you know it is just before he has interviews for a job.  He says he can force himself not to limp.  I have something wrong with my knee too and have a soft brace - this family sticks together.

Stay safe.

I posted this on FB today, they are receiving criticism for their comments about missing Kimi.  What this person doesn't know is that they are working with other parents who have lost children recently.  Also everyone grieves in their own way and own time.  Please pray for them, the health issues that are on the horizon are scary....

I am so very proud of 2 people in my life. I have seen growth beyond expectation in both of them. They are still grieving the loss of their Miracle Girl. Everyone knows the grief they are working through. The first year is numbing, they are now entering the second year where they will be aware even more how much Kimi is missed

However on a daily basis they are working around their greif to help others. Heather, and Jon are using what they have suffered to share with other parents. Keep on keeping on you two. Your faith in God to carry you is amazing, your reaching out to others who are suffering goes beyond amazing. I am so proud of you both.

Hello everyone.  According to the weather forecast for this morning we are only to get to 93 degrees today with a good chance of rain.  Scott was talking about getting over here early this morning to install the outside doorbell/camera while it is cool but I don't think it will be too early.  It looks like we will have a high of 93 today.    The only thing on the plan for today is to go to Home Depot to return the plastic floor runners and, depending what time it is perhaps finally get to Sonny's for a lunch sandwhich to bring home.

Last evening Pat was talking about riding along, which is basically what I will be doing.  The girls will be over in the afternoon. (I know I have been writing about doing this for several days but it just hasn't worked out so maybe today will be the day.

I had a really bad episode of shortness of breath yesterday evening and used a second dosage of Morphine for the day.  However, I did get around 5 hours of sleep last evening and know I will be mainly resting today.  I am having another one this morning and took another doseage of he Morphine and am about ready to ask the nurse if the dosage can be increased.  It took me about 2 hours this morning to get my breakfast and empty the dishwasher and the job shouldn't take more than 20 minutes.  I may have to admit that I am just not in good enough shape to continue to try to do this.

Pat and the girls fixed a very good meal last evening of BBQ ribs, green  beans, and a corn salad and roles.  The two slabs of ribs were  fixed in the Instant Pot and then sauced and finished in the oven.  Unfortuntately my taste buds for meat haven't returned yet and I wasn't able to eat much of the meal. That was our 4th of July special meal.  There is plenty of food here at the house so everyone will be on their own for fixing a meal today.  It seems when I start to write my postings for today someone turns on a switch and I fall asleep. Therefore I am going to go ahead and post and then read back in the discussions and will add any comments.  Otherwise hope to see you tomorrow. My best friend is home now.

Carol

Larry: I am hoping and praying each day is resting and peaceful for you two.  Best to Scott too!

Judy: Cannot imagine why some people have to voice their opinions when they really know nothing.  This too shall pass.  Belated Happy Canada Day greetings!  I forgot to mention it at the time and just remembered today.

Rebot

Greetings Larry  Splendid long post from you.  Sorry to hear of the shortness of breath.   Best wishes for the 4th July celebrations and also belated Best wishes for Canada Day.

Greetings Everyone  It is our National Day on the Island.  Have an enjoyable time whatever you do today.

JudyB

Larry I don't respond to everything you say, however I do the one thing I can do and that is pray.  Could you please email me your phone number? Can you get more help for the chores around the house? It is difficult I know.

I have taken to greeting everyone in the family with Good Morning, and often a bible verse or something to think about in their day.  It seems the number of people who I have included on this has increased.  I now have our pastor, (His son died last month) an old friend from childhood, and my cousin.  It amazes me how much these good mornings are meeting needs.  Needs I know nothing about.

We are having HOT weather.  Up near +40C which would be up near the 100F mark.  Almost unheard of here in the north.  John is driving the truck today and thankfully he has AC.  However he resists using it, as it takes power away form the engine, making climbing hills more difficult.  Thankfully John and Lloyd got all the field work done yesterday.  Lloyd has to bail, that is not a 2 man job.  The weather report says we should have a break in temperatures t some point today.  With that comes thunderstorms.  I hope Lloyd finishes bailing before that happens.  Lloyd is our neighbour and good friend.

Well I had best finish up here on the computer, be warned I will be back!  LOL

An OH WOW moment on Facebook this morning.  From Chris Saunders

A perfect example!
I came across a Hazelnut tree yesterday with small green nuts on it, but the light was wrong and I couldn't photograph it, so I snipped off two inches of it with two nuts on it and brought it home.
I put it in water ..but this morning it was all shriveled up and fit only for throwing out...it had been removed from the life-giving sap of it's tree..yes the Vine came to mind right away..we must abide.. in Him.

JudyB

Life is interesting isn't it!  Last night we were out visiting and my phone quit.  I assumed it was because the battery was dying, or dead.  Well after being plugged in all night, it still isn't taking a charge..... or there is something more seriously wrong.  I have had this phone all of 3 months, so It means a trip back to Rogers to find out what is wrong!

Today is another hot one, not sure how hot, however I have to go out to mow our grassy acres.

Stay cool folks, keep hydrated, and when you are relaxing remember all the wonderful blessings we have from our Lord!

Count Your Blessings
(Click to hear music)

Refrain
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done!

When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Refrain

When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

Refrain

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.

Refrain

So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be disheartened, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey's end.

Refrain

and somewhat cooler morning here in South Carolina.  I thought I had an appointment with Lowe's coming this morning but mixed it up and it will be on Monday morning. I passed on the sleeping pill again last night and was a dynamo when I got up.  If you had gotten in my way I would have been in a sort of whirlwind reorganizing everything around you.  I did receive a special delivery of medicine this morning. Scott came by for a little while and helped me with a few things.  I now have the rest of the day for resting and working on several look up projects, nothing serious.  I just finished breakfast so think I will go and take my morphine and other medicine and will be ready to settle down for the rest of the day.  I will read through the postings from yesterday but try to limit comments for today as it is so late.  All is OK here and I hope it is with you all as well.

Ellie, a National Day on the Island seems appropriate since you have the longest functioning government.

Judy, when our Hospice Chaplin was here yesterday I asked him about David Jerimiah and he thinks very highly of him. I have decided to join Audible so I can have access to his material.  I assume you have an Audible account? I just emailed you my telephone number.  We do have a lot of household help and will get more as needed. Judy, open the back of your phone and pull out the battery and reinsert it and see if the phone doesn't start up again.  Pat is having that problem with her Android Consumer Cellular phone and I used to have that problem when I had an Android phone.

Rebot

Greetings Larry  I enjoy the history of the Isle of Man, but it is hubby who is a Manxman and he is proud of his Island and the 1,040 years of continuous government on the island.

Rebot

Greetings Larry  I saw a post from you today in the June board, did you post in the wrong place.  :)

JudyB

Larry Everything we have done has done nothing to correct the problem.  We went back to Rogers yesterday and found out the Samsung has a problem. One of the solder points was not done correctly. They have taken it in for repairs, and it could be gone for up to 3 weeks.  I had to pay $75 for a loaner. I will get that back when I pick up my phone.

Does anyone "hear" their pulse in their ears?  I have for 2 years, and today it is particularly loud.  I have no idea what is causing that.... We have a new doctor, not long out of med school (2 - 3 years) and he doesn't listen.  He assumes with the first few words I speak. I am trying to deal with one issue at a time, to not complicate the situation. After a year of telling him my BP was up he didn't believe me. It took another facility to give him a report that he finally addressed the issue.  The next issue I am addressing is this "tinnitus" that I am dealing with.

Last time I was here I said we were dealing with HOT weather.  Well the heat wave is over and it now 61 F and yesterday was 77F.  I am now finding it quite cold and have a sweater on.  The sun is shining and the sky is blue, Our neighbour cut down another field yesterday, and because today is Sunday there will be no work done to the hay.  Tomorrow John  will turn the hay over so the underside can dry and Lloyd will start bailing.

We are so fortunate to live here, away from the business of big cities. There is so much bad that happens in the cities that we so far have been able to avoid. I pray it stays this way.  A slower pace of life and loads of fresh air.

Have a great day folks Enjoy the Lords day as you worship Him.

I have been sitting here reading a lot of the posts that I have not read for a while. One thing comes to mind, is that we can so easily be misunderstood by what we write. One word out of place or a sentence formed a bit differently sends a whole different meaning to another person. This usually done very unintentionally. I have learned that with the written word we miss out on 2 thirds of our communication. When we communicate with others face to face our words we speak as well as our voice inflections and our body language come into play to make a complete communication of our thoughts. I feel that social media misses 2 of these points. It's unfortunate that Jackie felt she was told as she put it. I do however feel that there was no intention on anyone's part to make her feel that way. Just a loss of 2 thirds of the communication. Just sayin. Have a Blessed day everyone.
Phil. 1: 21. For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain.

I really don't have much else to write about so am going to close this posting for today and then later this afternoon I will go back and read earlier postings and add separate comments if appropriate.  If not I will be back tomorrow.

Hi everyone.  Once again the day hasn't gone as I had hoped. Hopefully I finally have my discussions set up to make it easier to post.  Today is our 57th Wedding Anniversary.  (I made it!!)  Elizabeth is coming to bring Pat a big special arrangement of red roses.  We have no other celebration planned. Scott was just here but had to leave to go to work this evening.  I was very tired this morning, probably from frustration with the way my browser was working.  I plan  on spending a quiet afternoon watching the golf match and then taking the rest of the afternoon and evening just doing things in a quiet manner.
