Morning Devotional...

From Chris Saunders

"Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them that shall be the Heirs of Salvation?"
HEB 1.
We read about so many angels in our Bible, ministering to man, like the Angel for instance that strengthened our Saviour after his temptation and the one who strengthened Him in the garden. Then the One who wakened Elijah from his depressed sleep and showed him a fire and food prepared for him.. just what he needed actually.. To know that he was being cared for after his work on Mount Carmel with Ahab and the prophets of baal.
We may find out one day how many times our Guardian Angels were sent to deliver us from danger.
But the worship of such beings is strictly prohibited.. They are indeed God's messengers.
May God bless your week and keep you from evil.

Judy, I appreciate your thoughts today.
No, we are not to worship angels!  I worried about a sister-in-law who got so much "into" angels that I feared she did worship them. And the last conversation I had with her, as they took her to surgery , she said, "Janet, I'm scared!  Pray!  Ask God to send angels!" How I do hope I will meet her again in heaven.

We have been discussing whether or not we should go on the trip we have booked for April 2, to Spain and Portugal.  What do you think, friends?

I need to back up and read, see how many days I missed.  How I miss my email notifications!

I cannot find the earlier posts, sorry!

Janet I haven't moved it till today Friday.

A friend posted this on Facebook.

No One Knows the Day or Hour (when the world will end as we know it)

31/ Heaven and Earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
32/ "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
33/ Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.

Well am I surprised or what? I see Janet posting again.  Welcome back Janet. No I would certainly not be traveling at this time buy  any means other than my own car.

My grand daughter texted me some pictures of Ron and a copy of his death certificate.  Boy oh Boy has the grief hit me again today when I read that and the obituary from new newspaper where he grew up, it didn't even mention the nmes of his brothers and sister or  parents., Only his children and grand children. It didn't even give the name of his daughter who passed away last May. My grand daughter said she would be sending me a package and some ashes. I asked if I could have his cross that was in one of the pictures.

We had to throw away all grapefruit from the little tree this year because of brown spots on the skin.  The grapefruit was only the size of lemons so it was odd to say the least.

We are keeping away from crowds as much as possible and washing hands  much longer - should be singing Happy Birthday twice at least while washing with soap and water.  Saying prayers for everyone affected - and people who have to work with the public and have to travel.

Janet:  Our daughter & SIL have booked a trip to Italy soon and the airlines should be refunding their cost but it remains to be seen what the airline will do.  Son-in-law has tons of mileage - I hope they are treated well. Glad you are home.  Their son is graduating this spring and going into pilot school - we wonder if that is still a good idea.

Marilyn:  sorry for your loss.  May you keep faith in all happenings.

Time to keep on here - now is clearing the desk clutter.  Don is starting on taxes.  Not a fun thing but just glad we can do this without asking for help.

From Chris Saunders this morning!

"For as the children are made of flesh and blood He also took part of the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." Heb. 2.
What a passage of scripture... What a deep, powerful, message we have here.
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.. To save us from ending up in hell, to set us free from the terrible fear of dying.. Dying holds most people in dread, they don't know where they are going, they hope for heaven but have no hope, for they are not saved, they ignore Christ all their lives living just how they wish, then when death approaches they start to worry, yes, you can repent on your deathbed but it rarely happens, but Christ our Saviour was born of a woman conceived by God the Holy Spirit, and lived sinless! And so by living sinless death could not touch Him.. Death is only for sinners. Jesus overcame death.. He could not die. He had to lay down His life for us, the devil had no hold on Him. He the sinless Lamb of God.. God in human form, tasted death for everyone, and when we trust Him with our life He brings us into His Kingdom here on earth and guarantees us a place with Him in Heaven, a Christian does not fear dying, he or she know where they are going and Who they are going to meet. My sweet wife had no fear of death. When she was diagnosed with incurable cancer she couldn't wait to go, and I can't wait to see her again. God bless you.

I got this info from a man my husband and I know well. The writer was working with the Corona virus in 1974. I am reminded of this verse.  Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NIV) What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

Now lets let common sense rule our minds, and look logically at this virus. This is long but take the time to read, and digest what is written.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

On the corona virus, Covid-19-Virus some useful information

Two interesting notes - the first I mentioned - about prevention... the second is symptoms and how to know you have it.... Both have good tidbits... Regarding gloves I'm now seeing some articles against them but the point is to use them then throw them out - ie - use them in the store, drop in garbage on way out... use the gas pump handle wiht gloves, chuck them... etc.

Very worthwhile to read.

Dear Family and Friends, as some of you may recall, when I was a professor of pathology at the University of California San Diego, I was one of the first molecular virologists in the world to work on coronaviruses (the 1970s). I was the first to demonstrate the number of genes the virus contained. Since then, I have kept up with the coronavirus field and its multiple clinical transfers into the human population (e.g., SARS, MERS), from different animal sources.

The current projections for its expansion in the US are only probable, due to continued insufficient worldwide data, but it is most likely to be widespread by mid to late March and April.

Here is what I have done and the precautions that I take and will take. These are the same precautions I currently use during our influenza seasons, except for the mask and gloves.:

1) NO HANDSHAKING! Use a fist bump, slight bow, elbow bump, etc.

2) Use ONLY your knuckle to touch light switches. elevator buttons, etc.. Lift the gasoline dispenser with a paper towel or use a disposable glove.

3) Open doors with your closed fist or hip - do not grasp the handle with your hand, unless there is no other way to open the door. Especially important on bathroom and post office/commercial doors.

4) Use disinfectant wipes at the stores when they are available, including wiping the handle and child seat in grocery carts.

5) Wash your hands with soap for 10-20 seconds and/or use a greater than 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer whenever you return home from ANY activity that involves locations where other people have been.

6) Keep a bottle of sanitizer available at each of your home's entrances. AND in your car for use after getting gas or touching other contaminated objects when you can't immediately wash your hands.

7) If possible, cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue and discard. Use your elbow only if you have to. The clothing on your elbow will contain infectious virus that can be passed on for up to a week or more!

What I have stocked in preparation for the pandemic spread to the US:

1) Latex or nitrile latex disposable gloves for use when going shopping, using the gasoline pump, and all other outside activity when you come in contact with contaminated areas.

Note: This virus is spread in large droplets by coughing and sneezing. This means that the air will not infect you! BUT all the surfaces where these droplets land are infectious for about a week on average - everything that is associated with infected people will be contaminated and potentially infectious. The virus is on surfaces and you will not be infected unless your unprotected face is directly coughed or sneezed upon. This virus only has cell receptors for lung cells (it only infects your lungs). The only way for the virus to infect you is through your nose or mouth via your hands or an infected cough or sneeze onto or into your nose or mouth.

2) Stock up now with disposable surgical masks and use them to prevent you from touching your nose and/or mouth (We touch our nose/mouth 90X/day without knowing it!). This is the only way this virus can infect you - it is lung-specific. The mask will not prevent the virus in a direct sneeze from getting into your nose or mouth - it is only to keep you from touching your nose or mouth.

3) Stock up now with hand sanitizers and latex/nitrile gloves (get the appropriate sizes for your family). The hand sanitizers must be alcohol-based and greater than 60% alcohol to be effective.

4) Stock up now with zinc lozenges. These lozenges have been proven to be effective in blocking coronavirus (and most other viruses) from multiplying in your throat and nasopharynx. Use as directed several times each day when you begin to feel ANY "cold-like" symptoms beginning. It is best to lie down and let the lozenge dissolve in the back of your throat and nasopharynx. Cold-Eeze lozenges is one brand available, but there are other brands available.

I, as many others do, hope that this pandemic will be reasonably contained, BUT I personally do not think it will be. Humans have never seen this snake-associated virus before and have no internal defense against it. Tremendous worldwide efforts are being made to understand the molecular and clinical virology of this virus. Unbelievable molecular knowledge about the genomics, structure, and virulence of this virus has already been achieved. BUT, there will be NO drugs or vaccines available this year to protect us or limit the infection within us. Only symptomatic support is available.

I hope these personal thoughts will be helpful during this potentially catastrophic pandemic. Good luck to all of us.

With apologies to those who have already heard too much about the corona virus, you may want to read this ...

How can one know if infectedd by Corona virus... Quick test

I got this from a friend of mine whose brother is at the Stanford hospital board. This is their feedback for now on Corona virus.

The new Corona virus may not show sign of infection for many days. How can one know if he/she is infected?

By the time they have fever and/or cough and go to the hospital, the lung is usually 50% Fibrosis and it's too late.

SIMPLE SELF CHECK

Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning. Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stiffness or tightness, etc., it proves there is no Fibrosis in the lungs, basically indicates no infection. In critical time, please self-check every morning in an environment with clean air.

DRINK WATER
Serious excellent advice by Japanese doctors treating COVID-19 cases: Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat are moist, never dry. Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes at least. Why? Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids will wash them down through your throat and into the stomach. Once there, your stomach acid will kill all the virus. If you don't drink enough water more regularly, the virus can enter your windpipe and into the lungs. That's very dangerous. Please send and share this with family and friends.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - CORONAVIRUS
1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold
2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.
3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees. It hates the Sun.
4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.
5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap.
6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill it
7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice.
8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on.
9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice.
10. Can't emphasis enough - drink plenty of water!

THE SYMPTOMS
1. It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days
2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further.
3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.
4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention.

JudyB

I hope that the above information will put your mind at ease with the precautions to take, and the reasons for the spread!  The point I find interesting is that Heat kills the virus, and to avoid cold and ice drinks!

God bless you and be with you as you travel through the coming weeks.

Hello everyone!

I have had difficulty finding March!   :-[   Anyway, here I am! Yes, the corona virus is a terrible thing, upsetting the entire world.  I've never seen/heard anything like it in my lifetime.  So far, Kansas has only 11 cases, all of which are in Johnson County, the extreme Eastern part of the state.  We're in the Western part, so hope nobody from there or any of the neighboring states brings it any closer to us!

There is good information for protecting ourselves out there; we just have to follow it.  And pray for early summer weather, as it doesn't like heat at all!

Our trip was canceled by the company due to low enrollment, so we are getting a full refund, including the airfare!!  Happy about that!

And our little town has been on a "boil advisory" for the water since last Wednesday, due to a break in the main water line.  So most restaurants have been closed, school's out this week anyway for Spring Break, and our nice Health Fair was postponed.  And people here are buying up stuff like crazy!  Reminds me of the Y2K craziness.

We are well, staying home except for church and gym, and occasional trip to grocery store for a few items.

Hello to everyone, and I hope I can stay up with you now!

Janet:  So happy for you that your trip was cancelled.  I do hope our daughter & SIL will have their trip to Italy cancelled in June.

We were planning to drive to Minnesota for a university graduation.  Our math major grandson will have no program and that is good to keep everyone safe. Granddaughter and our daughter can do everything online so that keeps them working.

We are set to drive home Saturday morning with a motel in New Mexico set up for that night.  I will have food in the car.  This year, it is taking me two days longer to close up and empty freezer, etc.

Judy:  We heard about heat killing this disease - it is still snowing off and on at home.  Your PM was on the news this morning and talking about what most nations are doing.  It is nice to know our leaders are working together - how blessed we all are for good works together.

o

JudyB

Our PM is keeping the roads for illegals open even though the borders are closed to everyone else. He has said the borders are closed between the US and Canada....except for the illegals... As the Natives say "He talks out of both sides of his mouth!" We don't trust him, and want a vote out of non-confidence....a new vote for a new leader. If we went with your system he would be gone, he lost the popular vote by 100 thousand.....

However we as christians need to take 2 Chronicles 7:14 to heart.   If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
We need to follow the first part to get the second. Humble ourselves, pray and seek His face and turn from our wicked ways.

Carol

Judy:  Thank you for the sites, such a strong message and much needed.

We arrived home  yesterday after a drive in wind and snow. We drove from Santa Fe, New Mexico in high winds (some trucks pulled over) and snow.  There is a bit of snow on the ground and it is sunny today.  We stopped at a store to buy a few things.  Not much on the shelves.

Church is asking for people to sew masks.  I hope they have the correct cloth as that is important.  I will check with them and sure can help. First, must unpack and check in (phone) neighbors and friends.

Judy:  Keep on encouraging all of us.  We need your moral boosters so much - especially since news is doom and gloom.

One good remark for today, I will leave it with you.

The Lord wants us to rely on him and his word.

Janet

Good morning, friends!  It's a beautiful day here, although we started with heavy fog.  We have taken Sandy dog to the groomer (Met her in town in a parking lot) and then a quick trip to the store for some needed groceries.  I think we are set now to stay home for several more days, other than meeting to pick up the dog at 5:30.

I have such peace in my heart, that peace passing understanding.
God said that "no plague shall come nigh my dwelling!"  And that He is my protecter, my shield, my rock; my sure foundation, and He has promised to supply all my need.  So why should I fear? I just feel an excitement in my spirit about what God plans to do for us through this.  I know He has a GOOD plan for His kids, and for the countries who honor Him.  :)  ^-^  <3  <3

I am doing some painting to occupy some of my time, and having such fun doing it!  No gathering this Wednesday, but I wasn't planning to go, anyway.  I will miss it, but we will be happy to see each other when we can meet again!

Carol, glad you are home, and hope you stay put now for a long time! You don't need to be driving in snow and wind!  Please take care of yourselves and be safe!

Love to each of you, and prayers for continued good health.

Good morning fellow Cp'ers, Our state is on lock down, so  my pedicure appt for today is gone  I was going to walk Freckles in the mall after that appointment, but now that is out of the question. However I bought  rain suit and she gas two nice raincoats so we can still take walks in our neighborhood. All non essential businesses have been  told to close. I still have to call  the nail salon and make sure she is closed, I don't want her to  get a citation for being open.

All is well here and my family elsewhere is ok too. I keep checking on them. Even my daughter that  was estranged for so many years, has been texting with me since Ronnie's death in January. My grand daughter still hasn't sent me  any of his ashes.  I bought a real nice pendant with his birthstone for the ashes, but  she keeps delaying sending them.

Hey all y'all stay safe.

We are forcing ourselves into lock-down.  I was able to talk to two friends on the street yesterday.  No more meeting in homes.  Praying for all the people without jobs and street people without a roof over their heads.  It took three days but a grocery store will package everything and we can pick up tomorrow afternoon.
Don is so vulnerable - and I can't catch the bug either or would have to isolate somewhere.

I found a boxed game & we will try to learn Sequence - for whatever it is worth.  Don plays cribbage with neighbors and grands.  I could try to learn it again.

Stay safe!

Carol

There is a new (to me) song I just watched and listened to on the internet.  Perfect timing.  Dolly Parton sings "Hello God".

We are getting many phone calls for sales, mortgages, and so forth.  They promise to take us off the list but that never happens.

Don is not sleeping well at all - he has to nap more.  He needs to adjust to our higher altitude.

We are staying away - at least standing far away from anyone talking to me.  No welcome home hugs.

I spotted 3 Bobcats next to our house walking to the ravine in back.  The experts say animals are seen more and more in the suburbs since traffic has lessened.  Wondering if that bear will return - I hope not.

One cousin's daughter is going to have a c-section soon.  We are all concerned as this will be her first child and she is not young anymore.  Talk about a miracle - they have waited years for this child.
