Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

" Blessed is the man that endures temptation and testing, for when he is tried, he shall receive the Crown of Life, which the Lord has promised to them that love Him". James 1

What wonderful words, what a wonderful promise!
And we know that we will never be tested beyond what we can stand.
And why do we receive a Crown.. Because the Lord has promised it to them that love Him!
It all works together.. If you love Him you will endure, if He has your heart and mind.. You will endure, you will never want to let Him down, as Job exclaimed. "Yet though He slay me I shall praise Him.." there are people today living double lives... Going to church but living sinfully, don't be that person. Come to Jesus Christ.. Confess it all. Begin again, He freely forgives the earnest sinner, who cries out for forgiveness. Begin again. With a clean slate, all your past wiped out, then you shall endure temptation.. You will have the Holy Spirit to help and strengthen you, that Crown will be yours, is any temptation worth the loss of that Crown, Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of soup, and afterwards wept for what he had done, but it was too late that Crown had gone.
Will you give it all up for Christ.. For that Crown?
Someone needs this word today.

Feeling sad today as we plan a little memorial service for John tomorrow as we inter his ashes next to our Beth.

I painted last evening, a lighthouse scene on the cover of a smallish journal.  I rather like how it turned out.

Carol, love your "rock bread" story.  If they could make stone soup, why not rock bread to go with it?
We're learning more and more to go without bread.  Picked up meals from Senior Center today--chicken strips, sweet potato fries, cauliflower with cheese, fruit cup.  Pretty good!  Filled the empty space, anyway.

I need to get my thoughts together, as Pastor asked me to make a few remarks about John tomorrow.

Blessings to you all!

"Let no man say that he is tempted by God, for God cannot be tempted to do evil, and He temps no man.
But every man is tempted when he is drawn away by his lust and enticed.
When lust is conceived it brings forth sin, and at the end. Death." James 1.

God cannot be tempted by anything.
He is Perfect and sinless.
We on the other hand are sinful.
We are told to put to death the old man. So if we don't, we have trouble ahead, whatever we feed grows stronger, feed a pup and it will soon be a large fully grown dog, capable of great damage. The larger the dog the more capable of damage, we don't tame the flesh. We put it to death.
Lust for sex, lust for money, lust for power, lust to be number one among your peers, any lust is bad, the Cross is there to crucify the flesh. The Old man is not dead only put under, don't dare wake him.

Sad.

People need to follow isolation and separation instructions.

Keep the virus away from you.

Oh we are, some of these figures are our care-home dead's...previously they hadn't been counted on our daily list..

Thank hea***ns, just checked yesterdays figures again, they had made a typing mistake, the numbers now showing for deaths yesterday is 795 and NOT 4,419...

"Beloved, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to be angry. For one's anger does not work the Righteousness of God." James 1.

I watched a programme the other night, and I was amazed at how much people were all talking at the same time and insisting on having their say.
So in the end of the chaos, nothing was accomplished, that's the world today, lots of talking heads, very little wisdom, and few new, good ideas.
Scripture tells us to listen, take it in, think about it, ponder it, then bring it before our Lord, then make a decision. The Godly person does not jump in feet first and cause more trouble.
Proverbs tells us not to listen to the first complainant and take his side until we have heard the second complainant also. A wise man once said that there are two sides to every story.. then there is the truth!
We need the wisdom of Solomon today in this complicated world in which we live, and a greater than Solomon tells us to ask for Wisdom from above, without doubting that we shall be given it.
Anger without good reason does not bring God any glory, we are told not to keep company with any brother who cannot control his temper.
All the good guidance that we need to live in this world is in our bibles,
Brought to life by the Holy Spirit we shall grow.
