(This recipe was posted by Smokeythedog on another topic.  I have posted it here. Etta Sue)

This is basicly what my wife uses

one caveat, the meatballs should not be placed on top, otherwise the rice tends to be crunchy.

BEA'S UNSTUFFED CABBAGE
Yield: 6 servings
Rating: not rated
Description:

      1    Onion diced (1 cup)
      2 lb Head green cabbage,dice
      8 oz Tomato sauce
28 oz Can peeled tomatoes & juice
      1 c  Water
    1/2 c  Honey
    1/4 c  Lemon juice
    1/3 c  Raisins
1 lb Ground beef or veal or lamb
    1/2 c  Raw white rice
      1 ts Worchestershire Sauce
    1/2 ts Salt (optional)
           Ground pepper to taste

  1.  In crockpot combine all the soup ingredients putting cabbage in first.

  2.  Combine meatball ingredients, (rice & meat) stirring them to mix thoroughly.
With wet hands, roll the meat mixture in 1 1/4" balls.  Add the
meatballs to the crockpot.  Put crockpot on low for 8 hours

note; goes good with mashed potatos

Smokeydog ~ I like to use my crockpot as much as I can and I know Etta Sue like using her crockpot too! You know we will try this recipe.  ;)

Sue

I purchased the cabbage today when I did my grocery shopping, so will be trying this in the next day or two.

I bought my cabbage today., so this is going to be Monday's supper.  I have "Uncle Ben's converted rice on hand.  Is this the brand you use?

BTW - I use my crock-pot at least once a week.  Couldn't do without it!!
