Mick, just wanted to let you know I was paying attention to you here AND on PC.    It made me smile when you said you were just listening to her snores.  What a wonderful thing to be able to listen to in your own home without the hospital background noises to get in the way.  I hope and pray that she just continues to improve and amaze the doctors.

Update from Mick

(Posted on Photography Cafe and he asked that I put it here for you all)

Yesterday we had to take her back to our local hospital,as she was showing signs of fluid retention,and had a very fast heart rate.After spending all day there,they released her at approx 8pm last night,with an appt to go to Leicester today for the Cardio speciallists to have a look at her.

So when we got there we saw the snr registrar,who wanted to do a chest xray and also an echo.Chest xray came back showing that fluid was building up on her lungs again,and the echo showed a slight deteriation in her heart condition,so he wanted to keep her in for 24hrs to just observe her.

When we got her on the ward the main cardio consultant came and saw us,and told us that she wants to take her off some drugs and put her on ther drugs,also she wants to put her under general anesthetic and do either a CT scan or an MRI.

So looks like she may now be in hospital again for atleast a week.

just had an update from Angela,the consultant did an echo earlier this evening and found things that the snr registrar missed.Her left ventrical isn't pumping strong enough due the hypertrophicness in her heart.

This has caused her liver to enlarge and has resulted in fluid retention.In the cardios words we have caught her in early stage heart failure.Fortunately a change of drugs and all should be ok,it now looks like CT and MRI might not be needed.

Today hasn't been a good day,in the last 24hrs she gained 200g in weight and now she is starting to swell,they've upped her frussie juice but so far it isn't working.

Bless her with a miraculous touch from our Great Physician's hand and grant supernatural wisdom and medical skills to any and all personnel involved with her treatment. Encourage her parents, let them be aware of Your superintending, loving presence continually, and see daily manifestations of Your grace in this situation.

Update from Mick today:

The latest news tonight is that if the frusemide doesn't start working overnight then they'll have to IV her to try and disperse the fluid.

They also now suspect that it is renal that is causing the high BP and Hypotrophic CM,Which could mean her other Kidney is now failing.

At the moment my head is just banging from one wall to the other.

Hi everyone
Once again thankyou very much for your prayers and good wishes,it really has been one big rollercoaster ride of emotions since she 1st went into heartfailure at the age of 8-9 weeks of age.
Here is todays update.
Well it's been a good day and a bad day today.
I'll give the bad news first.
Due to them taking her off Digoxin and carvedillol and putting her on Atinalol instead,her body hasn't got used to the switch and she scared us today by having a BP spike at 169 over 117,fortunately it soon came down afterwards.
The good news is.
Her DCM has totally dissapeard she has full function on the DCM side.
On the HCM side we've been told that once they can find the cause of the high BP and rectify it,the HCM will more than likely completely go aswell.
They now suspect that it isn't actually her heart that's the problem there is an underlying problem that is causing such high BP which is making her heart react like this.

Hello again everyone.
I've just re-read through this thread and am crying as I read though it.All the emotions of what we've been through came back in abundance.
Rebecka is now stable as regards her blood pressure,she will be on drugs for the foreseeable future to keep her BP in control.
Her Kidney did need to be removed,as it actually died while my wife(Angela)was 7 months pregnent.
The medics still have not found a true cause of her high BP,although they now have it fully controlled now with drugs.
Since her BP has been kept at a very good level by drugs,her heart has made a complete recovery,and is now working aswell as any childs of her age.
So long as her BP is controllable we should never have to go through this again.
Thankyou so much for your prayers,all I can say is that GOD works in mysterious ways.
