Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Psalm 119 - Tau (vss. 169-176)

Verses 161-168 expressed the student's awe of God's Word - he considers it a "great treasure."  Verses 169-176, on the other hand, express his determination to use that awesome Word as the basis of all his prayers.  He says, "Let my cry come before You, O Lord; give me understanding according to Your Word!"  He's just saying that when, by means of the Word, he obtains understanding of God and His ways relative to every problem, then he'll be able to pray effectively.

He's thinking of that effectiveness when he says, "Let my supplication come before You; deliver me according to Your Word."  He believes that when he prays according to the principles of the Word, then God will grant his requests.  When that happens, then he'll praise God for teaching him that Word. Not only so, but he'll go about telling others of it as well.  He says, "My tongue shall speak of Your Word, for all Your commandments are righteousness."

Summarizing the entire psalm, he prays, "Let Your hand become my help, for I have chosen Your precepts!"  It's a prayer that his life might reflect that help and those precepts!  He says, "I long for Your salvation, O Lord, and Your law is my delight.  Let my soul live, and it shall praise You; and let Your judgments help me." He confesses his great need of that Word and that salvation when he says, "I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant, for I do not forget Your commandments!"

It's the confession we all have to make, is it not?  Left to ourselves, we are lost souls - all of us - and we desperately need God's Word to point the way of His salvation and His help to make progress in that way.  Simply put, we all need to become like this student.  We all need to learn experientially the same intense desire for God's Word, the same intense effort to learn it, and the same complete dedication to obeying it.  Oh let us all say, "Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path!"  Amen.

What a wonderful Psalm study this has been, Alan!

We've gone from Psalm 1 to the end and now we've just completed Psalm 119 and what a blessing!

Thank you so much for your zeal in this regard in putting these Psalm studies together.

We're moving on to Mark now
