JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

This morning as I walked among the trees at our local  park, I realised how peaceful it was, I spied the gardener who  is a friend of mine and when he came up to me he pointed out the Celandine, a beautiful yellow flower growing in great clusters, beautiful ground cover. Then he showed me the beautiful white Anemones just starting to push their way up through the heavy green leaves, it is amazing what people never see. They walk through this park seeing little except what is right in front of them, they look at the water and see the ducks.
I sit over near the fallen trees and see at least ten species of small birds, some quite rare. The world's eyes are not open to the real beauties around them.
Like the hymn... "loved with everlasting love, brought by grace that love to know, it goes on to say.. Something lives in every hue, Christless eyes have never seen."
This Easter time let's try and walk quietly through the woods, looking around us, up at the trees.. down at the ground.. looking and listening  for the birds too.
Feeling that peace which truly does pass all understanding to those who truly know Christ as Lord and Master, You will be glad to be alive.

JAYWALKER ( Jane ) on your Special Day tomorrow 3 April 2021, apologies if this arrives one day earlier...Sending BIRTHDAY BLESSINGS...

Thank you, so much, Jacqueline!  I am currently wearing a heart monitor, for which I was fitted yesterday, until tomorrow because of my recent "routine" visit to the doctor. I also have an appointment for an echocardiogram next week. He's making sure I'm not having heart problems.

This is a new doctor since my long-time doctor retired last year. He's young and very thorough. Also often tenderly mentions age and elderly!  :-[  I act like I don't know what he's talking about, but I suppose he's right. After all, this is my 86th time around the sun. ::)

Dot, my daughter, will be celebrating her 60th birthday on the 11th.  My "baby" daughter!  Hardly seems possible. She does her best to be in touch with me via telephone at least once a week. I can keep up with the rest of the family (her kids and grandkids as well as other grands and great grands) on facebook.  It will be nice when, once again we can see each other in person, especially now that I have learned her youngest daughter is planning to make her own son a big brother!  She has had IVF and they all seem so excited to add to my list of great grandkids!  :)

I hope y'all have a most wonderful Easter celebration and stay safe and healthy during this crazy time.

 Jane...
... I will be spending my Easter Monday inside an MRI machine...this is to see the progression of my PP-MS...

...Sorry to read your Birthday present this year is a heart monitor...

...11th April is the date of my Richards death, and same date i was diagnosed with PP-Multiple Sclerosis, strange how the same date can mean different things to one another....re, your daughters 60th Birthday...Will you be able to celebrate your joint birthdays together...or if not now, do you have plans to do so as soon as you can meet face to face......

    Jane...
...I like your logic, your way at looking at it, 11 days ago was also my 70th year around our sun, on our planet earth...Oh and yes, i so agree, dont our medics now look so young, or is it because we are getting so old....well as they keep telling us....age is just a number but, believe you me, my illness, my disease has certainly aged me....I was in hospital a couple of weeks ago and could not believe how young the two ambulance drivers looked, as they all gathered mingling and chatting along the corridor along with me, younger than our grandchildren, being all early - mid 20's...I felt i was waiting for the doors to open outside a nightclub...

Jane:  Love to see your post & photo.  Welcome back!

Here, we had 7 deer in the ravine yesterday.  One was very young but I can't judge their ages.  So concerned with some terrible young people racing their cars past here - the deer always cross the road as a group and they head to the golf course a block away (a different housing area).  There is a young man terrorizing us with his fast driving.  One neighbor was almost hit but she is afraid of repercussions from him if she had to take him to court. Thank heaven the deer were out of the way when the speedster drove through.

I miss going to church - miss communion and the music.  It isn't the same over the internet and without the people.

We had good news from one grandson - he finished his pilot training in Minnesota.   All smiles.

Tomorrow, we will have Easter gathering at our daughter's house - one son is out of state and two grandsons will not be here.  It is really warm here now so we can sit outdoors.

Judy:  I can hum a song but do not know the name - "he walks with me and talks with me".

Carol

Many Thanks Judy!  Don walked in and knew the voice at once.

We had all but two family members gather at our daughter's house for Easter.  All church is closed - at least all the ones we all are members.  One son and one grandson was missing.  It was a wonderful visit with lots of smiles and hugs - everyone is safe from this virus - we sure loved to talk and tell stories out on the patio.

I need to get my 2nd. Shingles shot - who knew they require a 2nd. shot?  They are so busy -overworked with the virus shot that no one calls back .

Carol

In all things give thanks.

Reluctantly given thanks for finally finishing phone calls and mailing information to an insurance issue.  It is just exhausting to listen to a machine when you really need an actual human voice.  Thankful this chore is over.   :coffee:

Friends celebrated an 87th. birthday of a neighbor today - she is so sweet.  I brought the ice cream.

Jackie - we have the news of Prince Philip on right now.  Condolences to all the nations.

Six of us girls gathered for a lunch this week.  It is really nice to say grace before lunch,  We say a short grace when dining out too.  All but one lives a few houses away so it is a short walk to the group. I hope all of you have the great friends nearby.  It is such a comfort.

Janet

Hello!  We have been away, just got home this evening around four.  Had a really nice trip by car all the way to Pensacola. Florida.  We followed my niece and husband, as they go there several times a year.  Darrel got really tired driving, and I don't trust my eyesight, and am not good at driving in traffic.  Niece had her niece along (My great Niece, 19 years old) and she offered to drive for us.
What a blessing Carly proved to be!  She even drove the part through the terrible Dallas traffic!  She did a great job, and wound up staying with us when JoAnne and Dan went home.  Carly drove the whole way back, and she and I spotted interesting things we wanted to stop and see or do, and did them!  Darrel would have gotten on the interstate and zoomed straight home!  Now he understands what I have been trying all these years to get him to do!  ;)

Judy, the name of the song He walks with me...is In The Garden.  My favorite, besides He's Alive! (thanks for that!) is He Arose.  It never seems like Easter to me if we don't sing that in church.  We were on the road on Easter, but we sang it anyway, God heard us!

We need to make us a hamburger or something for supper.  Good to read all your posts!

Janet:  Welcome Home!  We were transferred to Dallas and moved the family and one dog to a suburb - leaving a home on a little Minnesota lake.  The Texas drivers were all fast and furious.  Junk all over the freeways, etc.  Quite a change to a no holds barred life.  I know exactly how you felt on those freeways.

Here, I am re-reading a book on daily devotions - "Jesus Always" by Sarah Young.

Jane Walker

Today the youngest of my three daughters celebrated her 60th birthday.  She has lived longer than either of her sisters.  Jean was 46 and Joy was 59 when they died.  I think my "heart trouble" is because I've endured so much heartache through the years.

When I was a youngster I guess I cried a lot ... silently, though.  My mother would say I had "turned on the waterworks" when she'd tears rolling down my cheeks.  Then there came a time when I couldn't cry.  I came up with the theory that, at birth, each of us is alloted a certain amount of tears and I had already used up all of mine.  Somewhere along the way that theory was discounted when I, once again, was met with sorrow and heartache.

I guess I'm in a reflective mood tonight, but I'm not really feeling too cheerful or optomistic at the moment.  I finally got my second Moderna vaccine yesterday, and my income tax return is filed and the check is in the mail, so I'm feeling accomplished in that area at least.

I have to admit that I took a serious fall a week or so ago.  I had a glass in my hand, taking it into the kitchen when I fell against the stove and onto the floor.  The glass shattered and really did a number on my left arm and somehow on the opposite side of that same arm there is a deep bruise from my elbow to my wrist. When I went to the doctor with the makeshift bandaging I rigged up he put a new wound dressing on the cuts which I still have in place. It hurts and seeps occasionally, but I can see it is healing ... slowly but surely. I hate to let people know about my fall because I'm afraid someone is going to come up with the idea that I can't live alone any more.  I don't know what I'd do if that ever happens.

I'll quit this rambling and let y'all rest your eyes.  Thank you, Judy, for all the work you do in keeping this forum open and the amazing music you provide.  It's been a long time since I've done any singing but I love to try to keep up with the numbers you put here for us.  No one can hear me any way and we are told to "make a joyful noise unto the Lord."
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Jane:  Life does come with overload at times but this too shall pass.  Speaking for everyone who reads this little corner of the world - we all care for you and each and every one.  Keep us posted on your recovery.

Hello ladies. Welcome home Janet and Hello to you Jane. I too have been absent from this forum for a bit. It is so dau nting trying to get motivated to pack sort and toss away unneeded things without out any help and trying to  take care of Keith at the sme time. I need to sell two cars and the =corvette is now in the shp getting all the fluids changed and a new alternator. It has to run i n order to sell.
Gilbert will be up this weekend to help  the stinky furniture into the dumpster that I have rented. I want to put the house up for sale no later than  the  middle of May.Getting out of dodge ias soon as I can buy a house in Arcata/McKinleyville or Eureka it most important on my agenda. Once I get there the kids can either help with Keith or I can put him into memory care. (which I really dread having to do). HE KEEPS WAKING ME UP DURING THE NIGHTS SUNDOWNIG AND i KNOW IT IS DETRIMENTAL TO MY HEALTH. i WEAR A SMART WATCH AND IT TELLS ME HOW MUCH SLEEP i AM NOT GETTING. lAST NIGHT IT SAYS i SLEPT FOR 2.46 HOURS.Sorry for the caps.

Well time to take Freckles for another walk. Thanks for "listening to my rant"

Marilyn I am so sorry to hear of your lack of sleep.  I get that you are struggling and wish I lived closer to be able to spell you for a couple of nights.  Is there any meds Keith could get to help this sundowning?

Jane be careful of those falls.  Were you dizzy at all?  Hang in there and keep a chair or something to hang onto when you walk.

Janet good to see you home. Looking forward to seeing your pictures!

I was saddened to see Prince Philips death.  Reminded me of the verse Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:  We each have our appointed time.  I'm praying for the family.

I'm a little nostalgic today.  I remember Pat singing this.  It is and always was one of my favourites!

JudyB

Matthew 24:6
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

I have been listening to the news of the Ukraine.  It can be so scarey, Russa pushing their agenda.  Of course prophets said this would happen. Then we remember the words of Joshua 1:9  Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

We can rest in those words and watch and wait for His return.
Soon and very soon He will return!

Enjoy the music and rest in His words.

This is one Pat and I would sing together when Jack would preach!

And another..... W3 used to sing this in youth and in the youth choir. I was surprised that I remembered it!

My laptop is not working very well.... So disappointing.  We had two days of freezing and snow and today it will be hot/   This is called whiplash weather.  I am working on a huge problem with a racoon wanting to live in the attic - there is damage again near the roof top.  I wanted the tree close to the house trimmed and that was forgotten.

All will be solved at some point.  It is so pleasant to listen to the posted music that reminds us of our faith and peace gifts from our redeemer.  Many thanks

Carol

I keep hoping to see more notes in here -

Our middle son had a shock yesterday when he went to check out one of the buildings his boss owns and he and another guy found a body - apparently a girl committed suicide two days previous.  She jumped from a high place. He did not know her but it is an everlasting photo in his head. Such a sad story.

Tonight is my quilting group monthly meeting on ZOOM.  I have nothing to show & tell but it is nice to chat with the group.  Actually, a lot safer to be in our homes instead of driving in the dark with the crazy drivers.  Missing the human touch though.

Judy:  I appreciate your work on music for us - many thanks!
