Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Sonifo

Thanks Jane Walker.  That card pretty much tells it all.  I enjoyed viewing it.

Pat

Thanks Jane...  I enjoyed that--even though I'm a Canuck up here!  Thanks for sharing the link.

Hi "sweet llama"!!!

Marilyn, I'll check out your photo later.  I'm having company this evening though so I don't guarantee that I'll get to it this evening.

Talk to you all later!

Maybe it's time for another hymn???

Wow, I get stuck away from the puter for one day, and look what happens.

Welcom all who have just joined us.

My name doesn't start with a J, but it does start with a K, so I am there wit ya, sortof.

Yesterday was trying.  Travis started running a fever on Wednesday, and by yesterday morning was having trouble breathing.   ???  So, I got a dr's appointment, adn started getting him ready.  In the 20 or so minutes it took us to dressed, the snow was already THICK.  I started out, and about 2 hours into the 25 minute trip decided, "Forget the dr. I am going to my in-law's house."  In the back was a hungry sick baby, and all around me were people who should have been at home by the fire (some not to snow-savvy drivers in the world, I might add).   I talked to the nurse, and after her instructions she added, "If that doesn't help, take him to ER, even if you have to use an ambulance." Lovely.
We didn't end up at hte ER, but we did go to the dr. today.  More respiratory junk, and the beginnings of an ear infections.  He seems to be on the mend.

So, where is Spring????????   :o  We had about 6 inches of snow, yesterday, most of it is already gone, by now though.

I have rambled enough.  I'm gonna go see what kind of trouble i can stir up!!!!

VANWe visit every day.  We talk about our children, grandchildren, local politics, aches and pains, sorrows, triumphs.  We discuss the Sunday sermon, our reading of scripture, a new book that touched or troubled us.  We post photographs.  We laugh a lot.  Sometimes we cry.  We make an effort to listen intently.

Our visits to CP is our holy time.  As we read each others posts and look at each others pictures, we posts our thoughts, hopes, and fears to each other and to God.  Our posts are a manifestation of Christ in the world.  Being part of the Body of Christ is not a private walk with Jesus; it is two or three people gathered together with Christ in their midst.  When we show compassion or 'listen' with love, we are expressing Christ.  We are being the church in the world.  Even though we aren't perfect and we don't have all the right answers, we experience Christs's presence in these times together.

Who needs someone to listen???!!!

Etta Sue

Jane ~ I really enjoyed your G-son's card.  Truly made my heart smile.

Karma ~ I sure pray that Travis is getting better.  Little ones seems to 'catch' everything.  Just keep him out of those hospitals!!!

I wish I had thought to mention Margret's trip here sooner. Paul is on a golf outing with their son at Hilton head, so Stephen, another son, drove her to Nashville today.

We're really excited about them coming to dinner.

I'll pass along greetings to everyone.

Yes, I, too, met them in Atlanta - remember...that's when I had purple eyes.  ;)  - Hey, one of them was even swelled shut like this smily. <chuckle>

Jane, that card was something special.  Thanks for sharing it.  I particularly liked his personal message to you.  No wonder you shed tears.

Welcome Van.  I look forward to your participation.

Congratulations Sofino.  I hope that is one of many sales for you.  You do very nice work.

Karmat, hope that Travis gets better quickly.  It sounds like you have a very troublesome day yesterday.  Glad things worked out well and that no trip to the ER was necessary.

Tomorrow it is due to be warmer here and I'm sure I will be able to hit the pool again.  Our time here in the Sunshine State will be over a week from this coming Monday.

I hope you all have a good nights rest.  Jerry, thank you for your optimistic posts which brighten up our day.   ;D

Hey there, JETTA, JARILYN, JARMAT ... Jim, too!   :D  This is sooo fun!  Thanks, LARRY (JIM) for the comments on Bryan's card.  I am very proud of him, my youngest (17 years old) grandson.  He has indeed come a long way from when he was sent to the "boot camp" for troubled teens four years ago.

God has done a great work in him.

WHEW!

What fun greeting all the newcomers!  Hard to believe we're up to 33 registered members already, isn't it?  The Lord is surely blessing this site. :D

Not much new going on around here.  I don't recall whether I mentioned we're putting up an "Honor Roll" of the service people from our church, or relatives of people in our church. We want to put a picture with each name and although we have 17 names (!!!) only five pictures so far.  I think it's possible people have only one cherished photo of a loved one in person and are reluctant to part with it.  I explained last Sunday that I'm only scanning them into the computer and will return them immediately completely unharmed.  Hopefully now that we have posted what we have, with empty spaces above most of the names instead of pictures, we'll be getting some more.
One lady said the snapshot she had was very dark and when I told her I'd lighten it up she wanted a copy of the lighter one - and a wallet size, too.  Of course, I didn't have any good photo paper, so that meant a trip to Glens Falls.  Then home to make the copies (of two different pictures) which came out just great.  It's amazing what the right scanner, software, paper and printer will do!   ;D

I am going to take the liberty of introducing, not just welcoming, our newest member, MIEKA.

I first met Mieka several months ago in the "unofficial" DPChallenge chat room, and have enjoyed her company.  She is extremely bashful, and may not say a lot, but does like to listen.

She is an adept student of English being from China, and has done very well at picking up the American language and culture.

Also, as a photographer, she rocks!!

Welcome, Mieka!!!!

Jeanne, that's a nice service you are doing with the service people's photos, and I'm sure they appreciate it.

All right, all you Js!  We are in the majority around here, aren't we?  I remember at one time in my painting class I had a Janet, a Janice, a Janiece, a Jan, a Joyce and anotHer J which I can't recall at this moment, besides me, Janet, as the teacher.  Talk about getting your tongue twisted!  One of them commented "We Js are so talented! ;)"  WE had lots of fun with it.  I know another artist named Jan Janus.  Ha ha!  (or Ja ja!!)

I've had a busy day, and in the middle of it, Diane (my daughter) called and asked if I wanted to meet her halfway and pick up Abby (granddaughter.)  So of course, I did, and the rest of the day has been even busier!  Now it's past bedtime and she's still up, and so am I, but must get to bed soon because tomorrow is really a busy day!

Sonja, congratulations!!!  I knew you could do it!  Now that you're getting a start, you will really blaze a trail!  And thanks for agreeing to be a moderator in Photos here on CP.  I think you will enjoy it.

WELCOME TO ALL THE NEW MEMBERS!  WE ARE SO HAPPY YOU HAVE JOINED US!

Greetings Ya'll, sorry I didn't get here sooner but it was an extremely busy day.  Fridays and Saturdays are really nuts for me, I will explain all of that at a later date when I tell you what I do for a living.

Welcome to fellow newcomers and especially Mieka who I also met at DPC and really like a bunch.  Super Sweet!

Sonifo, to answer your questions from last night, my DPC name is also DougPaz and my two little blessings are not twins but pretty close.  Delaney is 2 1/2 and Davis will be 4 next month.  They are 17 months apart. If this will let me put in a link, you can see them from the Cliche Challenge at DPC here:

http://www.dpchallenge.com/image.php/i/12005

They are my pride and joy for sure.  You can see by the photo that they got their looks from Mommy not me!!

I had lots of blessings today as always and want to spread a few around here too!

Have a blessed evening to all.

Douglas

Hi Doug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The UT girls lost to UCONN again.  How did you let that happen????????????? ::)

Glad to see you over here!  What out for Sonifo and Jetta Sue.  They're a wily pair, those two.

Pat

Hello Everyone!

What a busy day and evening you've all had!  I did too!  Paulette and her husband, Dan, took me out to pick up some things and then I had the lovliest visit with Jen (Mercychild).  So, now I'm here and am busy reading all of your posts.

Great to see you posting Doug.  You'll have to share the children's photos on here in our Photography area.  We simply love to see the kids and grandkids.

Mieka, it's so good to have you here.  I hope you'll feel welcome.
