          Morning Devotional...

When they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.         Acts 17:32

In his sermon on Mars' Hill, standing among the philosophers of his day, the Apostle Paul's mention of Christ's resurrection stirred vocal reaction.

Some mocked, some procrastinated, and some believed (v. 34). Among those who believed were Dionysius (a judge of the court of Areopagus), and a woman named Damaris.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the central, living issue.

What is your attitude toward Him?

Is it one of derision, delay or decision?

Choose today; your eternal destiny is in the balance.
                                                                               ~W. Ross Rainey~

What will you do with Jesus?
          Neutral you cannot be;
Some day your heart will be asking,
"What will He do with me?"

          --A. B. Simpson

          Anthony

Good morning everyone.  How nice to be able to greet each of you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you Pat for your devotional this morning.  The question that you ask, "what is your attitude towards the Lord Jesus," is the most important question that anyone could ask.  There are many things that vie for our attention, but we need to put them all to one side and think about Him during this day.

I trust that everyone has a great day today and may the Lord bless you all.

          Anthony.

          Pat

It's so nice to see you Anthony!   Thanks!

Here I am ....  ;D  And it's STILL April 11 here in Oregon.  (but not for long)

I talked with my daughter in Spokane (whose birthday it is) and one of her daughters.  Then, a short while ago, Joy (my daughter in Sacramento) called to let me know how things went with the little get together for Bryan this evening.  [Not so well, but I don't want to talk about it   :-X  ]

I've been trying to get a fire to stay burning in the stove all evening but... it keeps wanting to go out! :-\
I guess I'll just have to give up and go to bed to keep warm.

I am really happy to see all the newbies here.   :D

This is getting to be quite a cozy little home again.

I'll be back tomorrow (later today??) sometime.  Y'all take care and have yourself a really GREAT day in the Lord.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

          Ruth Ann Bice

          Good morning, friends,

Anthony, my friend, it's so good to see you with us. I've prayed for you and for your mother. I well remember the stresses I endured as I cared for my husband, then 8 years later my mother, then 15 years later my dad. It's not easy, but with our prayers to help strengthen you, maybe you'll find strength to carry on.

And, good morning to Pat and Jane.

Jane, I'll be thinking of you and your family as Bry enters the military. The boot camp certainly won't be easy for him, so we need to remember him, while we're praying for our troops already in active duty.

Pat, because I've been working so much, I'm not certain what happened to make you have additional pain, but I certainly hope it can be resolved soon.

I'll be working today and hope I can get the reports finished so I can enjoy the Lord's Day tomorrow. There's an important reason to be at church, so I'll work as many hours as possible today to try to ensure that I can go.

Francy Lou, good to see you on board, along with the other new members. This is a really special community of believers - my, how it has helped strengthen my faith as I read my brothers' and sisters' prayers and comments!

          Y'all have a good day.

          Ruth Ann

          Good Morning Everyone!

I'm up and it's early on a Saturday morning for me!  I'm looking forward to this evening.  I've been invited to a special music concert here in Guelph at the University and our Jen (Mercychild) is singing in it with some friends.  I am certainly looking forward to this.

Ruth Ann, it was  nice that you had such a nice visit with our common friend, Margret.  She's such a nice lady.

Sorry you were cold, Jane...  Hope you got warm and cosy in your bed!  Did you find out if they introduced another swan on the pond?

Everyone...If you have any Prayer Requests, please feel free to post them in our "Have You Prayed About It?" forum.  We have a wonderful praying group here at CP.

Good morning Pat......glad you had a nice visit with Jen last night.....

What is my attitude towards Jesus Christ?
one of awe, sadness, because I had caused Him so much grief...joy..because even though I had hurt Him ....He loved me enough to die for me....and brought me to my knees before Him....and I would not want to do anything to knowingly hurt Him or cause Him pain or grief and that is why He has given us His spirit....in order to help us to live a life that is pleasing to Him and to be covered by the blood of the lamb who died for our sins......my decision is to follow Him and give my life for Him in service and dying to self....

ANTHONY...it is sooooo nice to see you here welcome brother and God bless you.... :-* make yourself at home and come in and share with us some more!!!

good morning to ..Ruth Ann and Jane also...
I pray you all have a great day in the Lord today....

          Papa John

           Good morning.

Anthony, it is good to see you here today.  I hope things are going well with you.

Pat, another good devotional this morning.  Through the years the message of Jesus has resulted in those three things, derision, delay, and decision.  Many years ago when an uncle of mine obeyed the gospel and when he was baptized I recall his saying, "I should have done this years ago."

II Th 1:6-9  God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you  and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.  He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.  They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power  (NIV)

Good morning Jane and Ruth Ann.  Ruth Ann give us a report on your meeting last night.

Good morning Paulette.  The statement of your devotion reminds me of Paul's statement:
Gal 2:20  I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.  (NIV)

          --- Papa John    ;D

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Anthony!!  There you are!  It's so good to have you with us, and be sure to come often and visit and renew acquaintences.

I am leaving soon for my painting meeting, have to leave that early to go to a shower for my new great-granddaughter, leave that early to go to Liberal for a barbershop quartet singing......Whew!  But I will make it!

Abby is staying with Grandpa today.  Wonder what all they can get into while I'm away?? ::)

I just wanted to pop in before I leave to greet all of you and wish you a wonderful day in the Lord.  See you later!

          AMAZING GRACE
          (Click title to hear music)

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
          I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
          And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
          The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
          I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
          His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
          As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
          And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
          The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
          Shall be forever mine.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
          Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
          Than when we'd first begun.

Mieka! We visit every day.  We talk about our children, grandchildren, local politics, aches and pains, sorrows, triumphs.  We discuss the Sunday sermon, our reading of scripture, a new book that touched or troubled us.  We post photographs.  We laugh a lot.  Sometimes we cry.  We make an effort to listen intently.

Our visits to CP is our holy time.  As we read each others posts and look at each others pictures, we posts our thoughts, hopes, and fears to each other and to God.  Our posts are a manifestation of Christ in the world.  Being part of the Body of Christ is not a private walk with Jesus; it is two or three people gathered together with Christ in their midst.  When we show compassion or 'listen' with love, we are expressing Christ.  We are being the church in the world.  Even though we aren't perfect and we don't have all the right answers, we experience Christs's presence in these times together.

          Who needs someone to listen???!!!

          I just lost the greatest post I ever composed!!!!!   ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

I am in a rush this morning.  Tony, my son, is here.  Jerry and him are installing new taillights on Tony's utility trailer.  Then we are going to pick up my new deck furniture.

Then tonight, four of us ladies are going to my church to see the Easter Cantata.  It is always fantastic with music and drama.

Just want everyone to know that I really enjoy reading your jovial posts.  Really makes my day.  I love humor.

          So I am off.....

Hi, Papa John. We had a lovely time. We ate at the J Alexander's restaurant near Lions Head Village. There were 7 - Flo Jean and Don, Mary and John, Margret and Stephen and me.

We had such a lovely time that we didn't want the visit to end. Yet, the restaurant was very noisy, so conversation was a bit difficult, especially for those of us who are getting hard of hearing.

So, we went in a caravan past the Parthenon, first, to give them a bit of Nashville beauty, then we moved on to their hotel. It's the one with the round, revolving restaurant on top near the Nashville capitol building.

We sat in the lobby and chatted until nearly 10 p.m. Margret and Stephen fly back to Charlotte, NC tomorrow afternoon. Then, she says Paul is taking her on a Caribbean cruise next week.

They will be in the States until close to the end of May.

Jaywalker, I tried to respond to your message in my hotmail account, but twice the "postmaster" notified me it didn't go through. Is your inbox full?

          Y'all have a good day.

So nice to see you joining us here Brother. 8) Come on in and have a cup of coffee or tea, there are donuts on the counter over there help yourself.

Well here it is Saturday, the end of the work week. I really haven't done much working this week, as I stated last night. We have so many people volunteering at the library there isn't much for the regulars to do. So I've been spending my time here and at SN visiting.

Pat I love "Amazing Grace" there are 2 high note in it that I  can't reach. We are singing it tomorrow. I always have to drop down at that first "d" at the end of the first line. I once did a solo using the music from a secular song. I recall the name just now :-[" House of the Rising Sun  :'( It just came to me. Well I am going to check out the other forums and I shall return in a little while.

          Love to you all

Now, Now, Brother Al: you can't possible ALWAYS be about 3 hours late, you would never make it to church on time to preach your sermon, church would be over by the time you got there. :-[  speaking of you preaching I fully intend to visit Sunny Brae Baptist Chruch to hear you, you do preach there to don't you? If not I'll just have to travel to Pistol River with you and your wife some Sunday.

BTW ANTHONY: you didn't hear the good news. I will be moving next door to my son Gilbert. PRAISE THE LORD for answered prayers.

Hello again!  The new lights wouldn't work but Jerry fixed Tony's old lights on his utility trailer and they were working fine when Tony pulled out of the driveway.  Besides, he gave Jerry the new lights that didn't work.  I don't have a clue as to what Jerry will do with them but he has them... ???  ???

We got my deck furniture and it is very comfy.  It is really windy today and 64°F right now.  The wind is out of the north so I can't get away from it while on the deck.  I know I will enjoy a lot of quiet time sitting on my deck with a cup of coffee and memories.

I have fixed Jerry and I lunch and we washed the dishes.  Jerry is watching truck racing and you can see what I am doing... ;).  Soon I will have to start getting ready for tonight!  So I doubt if I will be back in here until after church tomorrow.  So I wish everyone to have a blessed day worshipping God in your place of worship.

          God Bless You All

No, Pat, I haven't spoken with Jackie, but I understand the family is driving the 30-40 miles to Nashville to have lunch with Margret and Stephen today.

The timing just didn't work out well for everyone to get together at once.

As beautiful as the weather is here in Nashville, they should have a great day and a wonderful luncheon meeting.

I was out trying to get happydog in the house so I can give him some Dramamine and try to take him for a ride in the car. Oh But no he had to go crawl under the little trailer over by the garage, so I can't rach him. I don't want tof orce him to come in the house. But when he does Ihave the Dramamine ready to give him. I've tried the rescue remedy and He still wouldn't get in the car.

Rescue Remedy, is an all natural stress reliever made from flowers. It is purchased at the health food stores and is used for bothe Humans and can be given to animals as well. The lady at the health food store told me that horse owners use it to calmthe horses before trailering them for travel. it is really good too, not a sedative, just relieves the stress.

Good afternoon everyone.  We are having probably the nicest weather today that we have had yet on this extended holiday.  We have beautiful sunshine, the thermometer is around 75, and there is a cool and gentle breeze.

We drove over to Bradenton beach and walked in the middle of the little town there and on to a fishing pier which has a restaurant.  We watched the fishermen and the tourists.  Then we drove from our bridge, Cortez, to the other bridge on Anna Maria Island.  The other bridge is the Manatee Bridge.  We drove back across that bridge making a circle back to our house here.

I had a nice twenty lap swim this morning and the water was just perfect.  Monday we will be joined by our daughter, Beth, and her husband, James.  They will be with us all week and then Monday, the 21st we will leave for home in Tennessee.

Ruth Ann, thank you for the report of the dinner and visit with Margret.  Sorry we couldn't be there.

I hope you all have a good Lord's day tomorrow.  Welcome to the new ones here.
