Morning Devotional...

Take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place.              2 Peter 1:19

The presence of light repels darkness, thus defining its boundaries.  The darkness is not a place we would expect to find God, but even from the darkness His glories shine.

In the beginning He commanded light to shine out of darkness, and on Mt. Sinai from thick darkness He declared His holiness in the giving of the law.

But His greatest feat was bearing the judgment of my sin while hanging on a tree veiled in darkness.

Oh how the light of God's glory blazed forth that day! If your day seems dark, lift up your heart to Him and you will find that He can bring the comforting light of His glory into your darkness, too.
                                                                     ~Warren Henderson~

Sun of my soul, Thou Savior dear,
it is not night if Thou be near.
Oh, may no earth-born cloud arise
to hide Thee from Thy servant's eyes.

WOW -- y'mean it's already April 15? ???  Well, maybe where PAT and some of the others are, but it's still the 14th here on the Oregon coast.   :P

I stayed off the computer all afternoon because I was hoping my grandson, Bryan, would call me to say "good-bye" before leaving for Army basic training.  He didn't, but I guess he's got other, more important, things to think about than calling his Grandma.   :)

I love y'all soooo much, and I will be back in the morning (for me) to see how everything's going.

Seeya,

Hello everyone.
Jane, it is still Monday night here on the plains too.  11:00 PM

Wow, I haven't had time to get in here for two or three days, maybe longer, I can't remember.   Where does the time go, I sure have been busy.  I will have to wait to catch up on my reading here too, too tired tonight to do so.

Our church had its Easter drama/musical the last 3 nights.  We attended last night.  Oh my!  It was wonderful.  I hope they made a video and make it available to us.  What a powerful presentation.  The title was "You are the Christ" and Jesus kept asking "Who do you say that I am?"

Hope to see you all here tomorrow, or possibly next day.  I will be at church about 5 hours tomorrow.

G'Night.  Love, Janice

Good morning everyone.  What a great day we had yesterday on here, with so many posts.  It's wonderful fellowship.

Thank you Pat for the devotional and all of the links.

We find it so easy to believe God when everything is going well for us; sometimes things don't turn out as we expect them to do and we can plunge into the darkness of doubt, but He has promised not to leave us or forsake us.  What a great thought to take through the day.

God bless to everyone and I trust that you have a great day today.

Anthony.

Hi everyone.  Will make  a quick posting as will be gone most of today.  In a few minutes will go up and have coffee and then have to take Pat for some medical tests (routine) that will take the morning.  This is Tuesday so at 1 pm I will go to Calvin Cove to lead the singing this week.  By the time I get home it will be nap time! :D  So my day is pretty well filled up.

It is good to see everyone posting.  Jane, sorry that Bryan didn't get to call you but he probably had many things to do.  Was yesterday his last day at home?

Pat, it sounds like you had a very nice day yesterday with your family.

Paulette, you are fortunate that your girls wanted to wash your van for you.  Of course, I am sure you do many things for them, right Mercychild?

I will be thinking of Janet and her daughter as they travel today and praying they have a very safe trip and get good medical news.

Another good devotional this morning.

Everyone take care today.

Larry

Good morning Jane, Janice, Anthony and Paulette!  I actually thought I might be the first one in here this morning---guess I was dreaming???????!  Anyway, I'm just stopping in to say goodbye, I will miss all of you and won't have a chance to check in again until we come home, as we are staying in a motel this time, so no computer.

Pat, thanks for putting in the link to the story about Chaplain Cook.  That's such a powerful story!  Who says miracles passed away??  God is still in the miracle business!

Beth just got over here, got to get the stuff in the van and hit the road!  Stay well, everybody, see you in a few days!

Hello there, Larry!  We were posting at the same time.  Thanks for your good wishes, and I also hope your Pat gets a good report from her tests!

Hmmm - I am wondering why I have to login twice to get here?

Jane:  Sorry that you didn't get that precious phone call.  He must have been terribly busy and couldn't get enough phone time.

Anthony:  I was wondering if you are experiencing a lovely springtime in jolly old England.  "oh to be in  England, in the merry month of May".....

Pat Scott:  Thank you for today's devotion.

Larry:  I hope that your daily walks are going well.

Paulette:  I just cleaned my car but it would be nice if someone did it for me  ;D  We have been told that watering will only happen twice per week and washing car on those two days with the hose not running continually.  Enjoy your bike ride!  That is a good idea!

Good morning Pat.  Thanks for the devotion for today.  There are so many great Bible lessons relating to the light God has shed on our way.

John 8:12  When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."  (NIV)

Good to see each one of you today.  Larry, as usual you have a busy day.  It makes me feel a little guilty as I get ready for a swim in the pool.  We will get back home a week from today and I will get back to the work of being retired.

--- Papa John    ;D

My, and I thought I was early this morning.  I guess it is a great morning and time just flies fast.   ;D

It seems the light of God shines on me quite often.  I sometimes see darkness and pray to God and suddenly all is bright again.  God is so good.  I love him with all my heart.  Thank you, Pat, for a great devotional.

My cold is still lingering but getting better.  I turned on the radio early this morning and heard it is to be in the 80°'s today!  So I took my coffee and Bible out on the deck and read my scriptures with birds singing, tractors working and a soft breeze blowing.  Believe it or not, I have the A/C on.  83° is too hot for my comfort level.

I don't know how many of you listen to Country Music but my radio happened to be on Country when I turned it on.  Darrell Worley has a song out now about "Did You Forget?"...about WTC, Pentagon, the airplane that went down, etc.  When Darrell met President Bush, he told him that he had been praying for him every day.  Everyone quieted down.  President Bush replied that that was the highest honor that anyone could do for him today.  Let's all pray for our leaders of our countries.  For ALL countries.

Good Morning Everyone...

It's also such a lovely day here in Guelph, Etta Sue!  I have my doors open and the windows as well.  I turned on the TV to hear the weather and heard that we're going to have freezing rain tonight!!!  YUCK!

I've been thinking of several people who haven't registered at the site yet.  If you know of any, please give them the URL and let's see if we can get our group back together--if it's the Lord's will though.

We'll miss Janet while she travels.  Let's pray for her that she'll have journeying mercie and Ruth Ann as well as she's up in Cleveland.

Thanks Marilyn...  You make me  :-[

Francy, we're continuing to pray for you as your surgery date gets closer.  Make sure you visit the "Have You Prayed About It?" area.

Thanks so much for your words of wisdom, Papa John.  I always appreciate it so very much.

Carol, nice to see you.  I think that was really early for you, wasn't it?

Talk to you later.  I have a few things I would like to get done on the site.

By the way, for those of you who have been around for awhile, do any of you have a copy of my little write-up entitled "Baggy Knees" that I put in and the background reason why we called our Prayer Request area "Have You Prayed About It?"   If you do, could you send it to me?  THANKS!

It's good to see so many people posting this morning.  Your encouragement is greatly appreciated.

Paulette, the weather is fantastic today.  It is the hottest day of the year so far and it's nice to be able to walk about without a winter coat on.  Don't get too sore from the bike ride.

Larry, I trust that everything goes well with Pat's visit to the doctor's today.  I am glad that it is only a routine check up.  I also trust that your visit to Calvin Cove goes well.

Janet, everyone will miss you while you are away.  I don't know what the trip is for, but if Beth is having to go to hospital  again I do pray that everything will turn out well for her.  We all look forward to your return.

Carol, thanks for asking about the weather here.  It is fantastic today and I am looking forward to getting out for a few hours tomorrow.  Thanks also for  offering to clean my car - that's much appreciated.

Papa John, thanks for your insite into the scripture this morning.  It is much appreciated and how encouraging that our darkness is a thing of the past.  Have a great few days in Florida.

Francy Lou, it was an added bonus to hear from you this morning, although I am sorry that Tipi is ill.  We grow very attached to our pets, they can be good companions can't they.  I hope you have a great day today.

Marilyn, it's great to be back with the group again.  I look forward to a lengthy fellowship with you all.

Etta Sue, I am sorry about the cold.  I can't imagine what air conditioning is like.  It's good you are able to live so  comfortably.

Pat, I trust you had a pleasant time with your family yesterday.  It was good not to have to spend it on your own.

God bless everyone.  I have a great day so far and I am just going to get some housework done.  Catch ya later.

Anthony.

Hello everyone!  What a glorious day it's been here today!  And I got to spend the afternoon doing deliveries, so of course I had the van windows all the way down!  I love the wind!

Larry Hanna-Of course, my mom does a lot for us.  It has to be a two way thing for the relationship to work and grow, right?

Etta Sue- sorry to hear about your spring cold, but glad you're starting to feel better.  I'll keep praying for you.

Pat-that was a funny story!  I love reading little things like that about kids.  How was your day?

Marilyn-thank you so much, but you know I couldn't do it without the Lord first, and the godly parents He gave me secondly.

Papa John-don't worry, I don't think you fit into thatdaddy catergory!

Well, I'm off to have a bit of supper, and then I'm going to try and convince my mom to go and enjoy a walk with me.  This weather is too lovely to sit indoors!  Be back later!  Jen.

Attention all CPers!

Due to summer coming and the days warming up I won't be able to participate much in the
NEM forum.  I will come in to read the devotion but I won't read the
replies or post any replies.  My family does a lot of things out doors and that leaves me very little time on the computer. I also have my photos to get ready for print which takes up most of my morning.  I will stay and moderate the Photography area and am looking forward to seeing more pictures from
all of you.
I am planning on getting a website with lots of space so everyone can submit photos.
Please know that it is not you or that I am angry with anyone.
Thanks for listening.
Sonja

If you would like to talk you can write me an Instant message.

I am also going on vacation for a week to see my Grandmother and
Grandfather and Great Grandmother.  I will be leaving on Saturday
and will be back the following weekend.

Good afternoon!  Kind of a restful day.  I took a book to the deck to read.  It was so windy.  Lovely temperature but the wind was terrific.  So I came back inside.  It was very comfortable inside with the A/C.  And, Anthony, just about everyone here has A/C.  I don't know of anyone that doesn't.  Our humidity is high and the A/C helps that also.  Anyway, I got a real nice nap in until I started coughing again.

Sonja ~ I know how you feel.  With a winter like all of us have had this year, when it is nice, we need to get out all we can.  I will be glad when these PSP lessons are over so I don't have to spend so much time on here also.

Marilyn ~ Maybe Pat will see that you want a Gravies, Sauces and Salsa topic.  I don't think I can make a topic.  I am a moderator....not a creator!!!   ;) ;D

I know I am missing some so I pray that everyone has a restful night's sleep and wake up to a glorious day that God creates just for you.

Now to see if we are having an awesome sunset.

Mercychild:  We DO have to meet up... you, your Mom, Pat and myself, for a cup of coffee or whatever.  I wish you lived in my area so you could go for a walk with me. (I ride the scooter)..lol

Marilyn:  My goodness., that description of your camera sounds "GREEK" to me.  If its all it claims to be at that price, it sure sounds like a deal!

I would need one a lot less complicated, thats for sure!

Our recipe section is getting interesting.  I'll look forward to the gravies, sauces and salsa that Marilyn has suggested.

BTW, Marilyn:  How are you doing with "you knw what"..

Here's a new chorus sung to the tune of Londonderry Air or Danny Boy!  It's really a good one with a good message...

If on my Soul a Trace of Sin Remaineth (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/dannyboy.mid)

If on my soul a trace of sin remaineth,
If on my hands a stain may yet be seen;
If one dark thought a wearied mind retaineth,
O wash me, Lord, till every part be clean.

For I would live that men may see thyself in me,
I would in faith ascend thy holy hill,
And with my thoughts in tune with thy divinity,
Would learn how best to do thy holy will.

Post by: Marilyn on April 15, 2003, 10:59:24 PM
Well I finally posted my own photo. Surprise.
I am going tosay good nigh early tonight, and I won't be able to come in the morning as I have to go to the Dept. of Aging Adults for a Senior Employment meeting early in the mornihg and won't be back until afternoon. But I get paid my regular working hour for going. Then i have totake thursday off work because they only pay me for 20 hours a week. Lucky me huh?

So I will say good night and go look at the other fourms before I leave here.

I'm early tonight.  Beddy bye time for me.  I'm taking a cup of tea with me and I'm going to read for awhile.

Please feel free to continue in tomorrow's thread though.  Talk all night if you wish!
