Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

My, what wonderful thoughts all of you have had today!  Isn't it wonderful to have no fear of death...and even looking forward to death.  Remember a few days back when we were told by the media to run out and get duck tape and plastic to put on our windows and doors in case of a chemical bomb being near?  Why?  I wouldn't want to live if Iraq took over our country and besides, the alternative is so much grander.  No ones imagination can surmise what heaven will be like.  And what a glorious reunion.

I often wondered why blood was a sacrifice for God in the Old Testament.  Blood is yucky!  It is dirty and smells when it is outside the body.  Now, after Jerry's Daily Encounter, I realize why God used blood.  Blood is the ultimate cleansing fluid.  It removes the impurities out of our bodies.  And, yes, if Christ walked on earth today and was sacrificed for us sinners today, it would still be his shedding of blood.

Jerry came over today to rest....haha!  We had lunch.  Went to the woods and took some pictures.  The woods is a half mile from the house.  Coming back, I noticed Kaye Don mowing his yard.  Ivalou mowed her yard while we were having lunch.  So Jerry got on the Honda mower and I got on the Craftsman and we mowed my yard.  It always looks so nice when all three of us mow the same day.  But I mowed last Friday.  I hope this isn't another year of mowing every five days... ::) ::)

It has been a good day today!!!

Look in photos for more pictures!!!!!

Marilyn

Etta Sue you must have a really big yard to have to use two mowers.

I have been busy trying to resize some photos and put the on that site that pay gave us. They kept coming out way too big when I tried to frame them. Oh well I will just have to keep on trying. And I also paced up a few boxes out of my china cabinet all glass stuff and used small boxes so they won't be too heavy for me to carry by myself. Ilike to pack so's I can carry it.

I have bible study tonight and need to go dry my hair and fix some dinner before I go.
Hey Pat what's for dinner on those new plates. Can I come too.

Well, Larry, that quote of yours is so true.  Jack's sister had alzheimers for 11 years before she passed away and what you describe is so true.  Thanks for that!

Marilyn, whatever you want, we can have for supper!  LOL  Just come on over!

I love the smell of freshly cut grass, Etta Sue.  But as Marilyn says, you must have a pretty large piece of property!

Anthony, you're up late!  Nice to see you though.

Pat, I've done something I never usually do - I've  eaten too much and can't get to sleep.  Hope no-one minds if I ramble a bit.  I liked Karma's and Larry's talk about the people  with dimentia.  It is always good to think what God thinks of people who suffer in this way.  When we realise how much love God has for them, it is easy for us to show respect.  I agree with the comments and thanks for bringing the subject up Larry.

Now I must try to get some sleep.  Perhaps if I counted CP members jumping over a fence it would help  ;)

God bless,

Anthony.

Etta Sue

Haha!  The Honda came with the house and garage.  The Craftsman, Tony gave to me when he got a Dixie Chopper.  So when I have help.....Jerry.....he drives the Honda and I drive the Craftsman.  It still takes us over an hour to do all the yard and we finish about the same time.  I think I have .86 acre and mow all except where the house and garage sits....duh!

Pat

I'm sitting here thinking and imagining CP members hopping over a fence.....

Hmmmmmm..... ::) :-\

Maybe custards flying over the Atlantic would be more effective.  (Like I could "hop" over a fence.  hahahahahah)

My, what wonderful thoughts all of you have had today! Isn't it wonderful to have no fear of death...and even looking forward to death.

Mr. Hanna
I can honestly say I had no fear before these procedures as I knew where I would be going. I was thankful to God that he saw me through each of these times as I wasn't ready to leave my family but God's will be done.

When you first awake in the morning, and even before you open your eyes, do you speak to the Lord?
Do you thank Him for preserving you through the night?
Do you praise Him for another day and ask for guidance for the same?
Do you listen to His voice as He speaks to you from His precious Word?
Is your soul content to rest in His love?

It is a nother question, :-\
I do talk to God many times each day. In heaven I hope to see all the things I love and even more. I have many questions of heaven. I am certian it is a most wonderful place.
Why ever would I want for preserving me a nother night? Is it only to be able to share a nother day here with my friends?

Please forgive me, I sometimes have such shame for how my words come out.  :-[I only wish to say how much I hope to go to heaven one day. I remember many days when i know I would not awake up in the morning, only to find I did. Today I thank God for every breath, but I welcome the day to be with him.

Marilyn

Hello again, I am home from Bible study it was on how Moses disobeyed God by striking the rock instead of speaking to the rock and Jesus being the rock.

I'll say good night now and go read the other forums here.

God Bless you all

Hi Mieka...

Great question!  Don't apologize for your questions or wording.  We understand and I, for one, am happy that you are asking these questions.

When we pray in the morning thanking the Lord for seeing us through yet another night, for me it's my "human nature" coming through.  Even though we love Him with all our heart and want to be with Him when we die and know without a shadow of a doubt that we will be with Him, we still, in our selfish nature, want to remain with our family and friends.

Mieka, you can know that you will see the Lord some day.  You can know without a shadow of a doubt and with no need to question whether or not you will.

All children of the Lord will see Him and will be able to worship Him around the throne in Heaven.

And we're children of the Father if we have repented of our sins and asked Him to be Lord and Master of our life.

God gave us a gift.   The gift shows us how much He loved us...

John 3:16 says...

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

We are all sinners and we must repent of our sins.    The Bible says that we are and I believe that.

It says it in Romans 3:23...

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

The penalty of sin is death...  In Romans 6:23 it says that the ... wages of sin is death.

Well, Mieka, Christ has paid our penalty for our sin by dying on the cross for us and He offers us this wonderful gift of eternal life.   In Ephesians 2, verses 8 and 9, it says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Grace means "unmerited favour" and certainly none of us deserves this free gift of  His grace.  It is free.  And He's offering it to us.   We don't deserve this gift.  But if we accept it, then there's no need to ever just "hope" again that we'll see Him.  We WILL see Him when we die.

He's then our Heavenly Father, our Lord and Master of our life and surely from that moment on we will want to live only for Him.

What a wonderful Saviour He is!

Maybe some others will have a better response.

Jane ~ I would think the sun shining through the pines would be just as beautiful as oak trees. ;D

Papa John ~ I am glad my optimistic outlook shows through! If I can only bring a smile to one persons face by posting my thoughts, whims and sometimes crazy weird sense of humour, I figure I have done my goodwill for God. He has brought me through so much in my life, I just want to help him by making others happy. I too, will not have a care or worry when God finally calls me home to rest! It will be a glorious day with all the reunions. I love the 23rd Psalm.  :)

Pat ~ Thank you! I post those because I wish to make everyone smile and I hope everyone is happy reading the Daily Encounter! I do enjoy it so much. ;D

Marilyn ~ Thank you! I know everyone can get something out of my posting the Daily Encounter. I am glad you liked it! :D

Anthony ~ That is a great idea. I use notepad and answer the posts as I go through each one. Then I just copy and paste to the reply window. Works best for me, but everyone has their own easy way. ;)

Larry ~ I loved the quote from the Alzheimer's Association. It is a great one to remember. :)

Karma ~ You had better be careful jumping off that soapbox. You never know what you might be jumping into. Someone may just set you up with jumping into a big custard pie! (chuckle) ;)

Etta Sue ~ You forgot to tell these good people I came over to rest, but don't mind mowing because I work for food. (VBG) Besides I love to mow grass, it gives me time to think. I also love to run the Honda better than the Craftsman. ;)

Marilyn ~ Here is the site to get the optimizer tool I use to compress my photo's so they will be the right size to post! http://www.mediachance.com/free/thumber.htm, you can copy and paste this into your web browser and if you like what you see. You can download it! I like mine! :)

Anthony ~ No way am I jumping anywhere. I quit jumping a long time ago! I don't even skip anymore! (VBG) ::)

Mieka ~ I don't think of my daily talks with God as praying to him, but I talk to him constantly! Little thoughts cross my mind and I just talk to Him the same as I would you if you were near and could hear me. God is always right beside me and I know he hears everything I say, so I just talk to Him about everything, of course you can ask those who know me and they will tell you how much I enjoy just talking! I am known as the gabby one. Don't worry about whether you are going to Heaven or not. If you have excepted Jesus Christ as your saviour and Lord, I will see you some day on the other side. God Bless. :)

Whew ~ I think I just beat Etta Sue's record for the longest post! I am sorry to put you people through this, but I know you will someday repay me in kind! Goodnight all and may God bless each and everyone of you! May your dreams be pleasant and your sleep be blissful.

Pat

Well, it's that time again...time to lock the door.

But we'll leave a light on for those on the west coast.

Meika - Our beloved sister Pat has given you a very full and excellent answer to your questions.  I too want to express to you that you needn't fear your use of English.  You use English much better than I would use your language!
If we have believed that we were enemies of God and worshippers of ourselves, and if we have truly expressed to God that we are very, very sorry for our rebellion and sin, and if we have truly believed that Jesus Christ gave Himself for us on the Cross, that He rose from the dead and is our living Lord now, then, truly, it is better to be with Him than to be here.
But He has things for us to do here.  He has people for us to minister to and love.  And we belong to Him now, not to ourselves, so we simply want most to be where He wants us to be, whether here to serve Him or with Him to serve Him there.
I thank Him when I awake here because He is giving me another day to serve Him here and because I know He'll be with me.
