      Morning Devotional...

As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons.         Song of Solomon 2:3

How special is the bridegroom to his bride. All others are like the trees of the forest, but he is different!

He stands out like an apple tree in the woods.

This is how the Lord Jesus is, or should be, to those of us who belong to Him.

He is like an apple tree in a forest, that forest being all that the world has to offer, its fame, riches and might. All its attractions, honors and famous people are like so much ordinary forest.

      We have the Lord!

When was the last time you told Him how special He is to you?
                                                                                               ~Carl Knott

      Oh, this is my Beloved,
      there's none so fair as He;
      The chief among ten thousand,
He's all in all to me.

After missing a few days here on CP, I realize how valuable your friendships really mean to me.

We really are like a big family arn't we!

The daily devotionals have mean't a lot., and Marilyn's doggy joke was just what I needed tonight when I came on.

Marilyn - not knowing how to copy and paste (yes Pat, you have tried to explain it.... I'm really dense., still can't get it)., would you email it Marilyn - that way I can put it in a folder, and also send it to some friends who I know would love it.

Speaking of healing., I have a few thoughts on that, but will post it another time.  As you see the time, its going on 4:AM., and I am once again unable to sleep.

I'd rather express my views, and what the Lord has done in my life when I am more alert.

So, I'll say a quick goodnight., and now that I can't sleep., its a good time to pray for Chris, Meika's brother, Zachary, Beth, Sonja, and others who will come to mind.

      Love to all..... Judy

oh yes., and give thanks for Papa John's relief from his back pain.

      Good mornng, friends,

I'm so thankful for this forum - and for each of my brothers and sisters who post here.

I'm working many long hours, but love the refreshing testimonies, stories, and the questions to which all contribute their thoughts.

By the way, Pat, how do I go about getting someone registered? Is there a "secret passage"? I link to the site from my work computer and have to come in through one of the pages that explains policies and procedures.

      Y'all have a good day.

Last Sunday I got my own ISP...Corecomm.  It is the owner of Voyager so my email didn't change.  I didn't change any settings but when I go to Outlook Express, it automatically kicks me off corecomm and then automatically dials back in.  Even the tech doesn't know why.  Now last evening when I got caught up, I didn't find my icon to disconnect from the net.  So I assumed I had already disconnected...senior moments do that, you know.   :-\  I watched TV and then came in to shut down for the night, an IM from Jerry was on the screen.  I was still online.  But I didn't know how to shut down...no icon to do so.  The only icon I had was to 'connect'.  And I was!  I don't think a new keyboard would have done this.  Cyberspooks!!!

I am already for church.  Just seeing how all are doing this morning.

So glad to see Cindy finding us again.  I sure have missed you.

Jerry and I are coming back here after church.  Dinner is almost ready so it should be quick.

I pray that everyone has a God blessed day on this, the Lord's Day.

      Hi Ruth Ann...

Yes, give the link that is above to Policies and Conditions to the person and if they agree with them, there's a link at the bottom where they can get to the forums.  I'm thinking of ways to change this but reading and agreeing to our Terms is very important for a site like ours.

The forum URL is the same as our main webpage (Home above) but with yabbse at the end of the URL so

Good morning everyone, it's been a bit since I've been in here.  I see that a lot has been going on.  I'll definitely be praying.  God be with you all.  Jen.

Hi Etta Sue!  I almost missed your post!  This happens with this software but the price of it was right!  LOL

Do you have two little monitors at the bottom in your task bar when you are logged on?  That's what I use to logoff or shut down.  But most of the time, I just leave it connected.

Hi Jen!  Great to see you and yes, you are missed when you aren't here!

It certainly was great to see Cindy register last night!  I'm so happy that she is back among us.  Cindy, I was taking a photo of my new little cat and nearly every time I do this, I thought of your photo of your cat.

Good morning.  I sat here with a cup of coffee, listening to My Jesus, I Love Thee, and watched it get daylight.  A nice way to start my day.  I did sleep well, last night, and am grateful for that.

I haven't been getting here the last few days, so wanted to come in early, before the day really started, and before I started getting ready for church.

Pat, thanks for the link to the free web site.  I'm getting some photos uploaded.  It's really easy to navigate.  I have a couple for the Spring photos folder, and will try to get them up after church today.  I also want to get some photos of Jane's flowers so she can get them posted too.

        Have a blessed day, everyone.

      WELCOME CINDY :)

      Pat

      Hi Nita!

Great to have you as one of the "early birds"!

You'll have to show Jane all about the free website as your free space will get used up quickly!  I think the allotment isn't very high.

It's handy for those without web space with their own ISP.

I love that hymn you mention.  I'll have to get it for here so we can all enjoy it.

Karma - I love your view of the matter of healing.  I think it's right on.  God does not tell us that He heals every disease, but, when He says "Who healeth all thy diseases" He means that every time your disease is healed - He did it.  We ought not to assume, but we ought to trust Him to do all things well.  We need to concentrate on trusting His love, not His healing.

Good Morning, my, my so many have already been here. I had some trouble getting here this morning, for some reason my internet connection was messed up and only giving me thier screen and nothing else. Nevertheless here I am. ;D

      Rose of Sharon
      (Click to hear music)

Words and music by Alfred B. Smith and John Peterson

"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."
      Solomon 2:1

There's a Beautiful Rose ever blooming,
      In the Garden of God's Love for me;
It has filled all the world with it's fragrance,
      It will last for eternity.

      Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
      Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.

Precious Savior, I'll always adore Thee,
      For with Thee no one else can compare;
By Thy Love so divine, I'm enraptured,
Thou are fairer than all of the fair.

      Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
      Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.

Are you lost in your sins ~ tired of living?
Is your heart filled with bitterness, too?
Come to Jesus, the sweet Rose of Sharon,
He has the power to make you anew.

      Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
      Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me

I was here much earlier ... in fact right after Pat opened the door! ... I just didn't have anything to say at the time.  (when do I EVER have anything to say?)  :-\  Usually, I just say it anyway!   ;)

Nita and I went to our church's Hour of Power last night for prayer then went to the dock and watched the last of the sunset.  We saw a spectacular display of evening clouds and the sunset from our church parking lot as we were leaving, but it had already nearly spent itself by the time we made it to the dock.

This is the day the Lord has made ... every day is ... and I intend to REJOICE and BE GLAD in it, how about y'all?    ;D

Marilyn, there's nothing wrong with "being from Missouri" ... I told my daughter that I think Thomas, the disciple, was also from Missouri.  He wasn't "doubting Thomas" he just wanted to see for himself that Jesus was really risen from the dead!

I'm ready for church and about to leave the house so I'll be back later.  Nita might come over after church to take pictures of the new developments in my yard.  I will let you know how that turns out.

      See y'all later ....

Nice to see you posting, Jane!  I'll look forward to seeing the "new developments" in your yard!  Even if you think you have nothing to say, just a "Hi, y'all!" would be nice! ;D

Hello, everyone!  I am a bit sleepy and draggy still, but here I am, anyway!  We got home sometime after midnight and got several hours' sleep.  We had a good time yesterday/last night visiting with old friends from high school.  There were four members of my class present, and our first grade teacher, and sixth grade teacher, and music teacher/bookkeeping teacher from high school, also.  So it was good.  We met with some around 2:00 and visited until time to go sign in at 6, then kept right on visiting until the thing ended after 10:00.  Believe it or not, I didn't talk much, mostly listened.  (You learn a lot more that way! ;))

I am aggravated because I downloaded my photos on Darrel's computer, and now I can't find them on mine.  Curtis networked the two because mine wouldn't accept the HP software for the camera.  They are supposed to be under "shared files" and I can't find them.  27 photos! :'( :'( :'(

      Papa John

Well, here it is Sunday afternoon and we are sitting around in the den with everybody talking at the same time so I just picked up my handy laptop to visit CP.  We have a lot of company today, Beth and James, daughter and son-in-law, Martha Nell, granddaughter, and her husband Matt,  Robbie and Randy, granddaughter and her husband, Ruth and Robert, granddaughter and her fiancé.  Cornelia got up early this morning and put on the roast and everything and when we got home from church it was all ready.  She is magic.

Good to see each one today.  I will report that my back is better and hopefully by tomorrow it will be well enough that I will not have to go see the doctor.

Right now I am having a little problem with my wireless connection.  It just put me off line so I came back on line with the phone line.  Since my guru son-in-law is here maybe he can see what is wrong.  Good to see everyone today.

We had a great morning service.  Jerry and I stopped afterwards for an oil filter and oil for my Craftsman.  I took him by his place and I came on home.  I got lunch ready and he came in.  We ate.  He has the Craftsman all done and even hand washed my car.  All for food!!!!

Woe is me!  Now I don't have a taskbar.  I can't even click on start.  I usually have the task bar hidden but it is really hiding now.  Nothing at the bottom of the monitor.  I don't even have icons on the desktop.  I guess cyberspooks are at it again.

Well, I am going to reboot and see if that helps.

      God Bless you all!

      Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Went to church this morning and we sang our anthem "Since by Man Came Death" from the Messiah.  It is short but such a powerful piece.  Today our lady pastor preached a very powerful sermon on the first appearance of Christ to Mary and then the Disicples after the resurrection.

Pat hadn't felt like going to church this morning but by the time I got home she was feeling better and had lunch ready.  I then took a nice afternoon nap.

Sorry to say the car saga continues with my daughter's car.  The man who thought he could fix it decided he couldn't as it needed to be put on a lift.  They are getting it to a place this afternoon, hopefully, and they will fix it Monday.  I had talked with them Friday and was told it would cost $505.  This has been an expensive weekend as we also had a towing bill.

Etta Sue, did you get a dsl line with the new company?  If so you probably can be online 24/7.  Hope the reboot solves the problem.

Janet, it sounds like you all had a very nice time at your alumni banquet.

Cindy, nice to see you back.  We have missed your postings.

Papa John, it sounds like a great time at your house today.

My daughter's friend just brought her back home so better run for now.

We both missed church this morning.  :'(  Gene woke during the night with one of his headaches and once he takes the medication he's "out of it" for several hours.  I was up in plenty of time, had my breakfast and sat down to watch the "In Touch" service from 8:00 to 9:00 and planned to get ready for church when it was over.  At 10:15 I woke up:-[ - and our service starts at 10:30, so....

A beautiful day today, up around 65 this afternoon and mostly sunny.  The forsythia is all in full bloom - such pretty bright yellow. :)  Every year at this time I promise myself I'll have a bush for next year.  ;D

Well I am back at home now. The service there was a real good service the message was on Nehemiah 6. The pastor there is also a former drug addict and the place was full of drug and alcohol formerly addicted people and some who iare in the rehab program. The message was dircted towrd those thnig in our lives that we were faced with living the  so called "life". When he preached about couples having unforgiveness in their hearts Don and I just looked at each other.Hacing been a couple at one time we could really identify with everything that was said. Don even handed me $20. and said its for the phone bill, After I :o picked my chin up off the floor, I said "Thank you".
I am going tocheckthe other forums now. be back later

      Hey there y'all!    :D

Nita and I went out to lunch after church today and then she came back to my place for a photo op.  We had just stepped out on the front porch when I spotted a couple deer in the yard.  Nita's camera went into action and, hopefully, she got some good shots of my daily visitors here.  The deer really enjoy my flowers, too, so they are the reason I don't have a whole lot to show you --- when they "enjoy" the flowers seem to disappear!     :-\

Okay, PAT~ I'll try to remember to speak up more often when I snoop, lurk, visit CP.   8)
This being the last Sunday of the month, our evening service will be A Praise Gathering consisting of just music and praise.  People from other churches (that don't have Sunday evening services) are invited to join us, and we always have a good time.  Y'all come!   :D

Oh Jane... how I'd love to attend one of your services where there is such lovely praise and worship.

We don't have Sunday evening services anymore...its old fashioned I hear... isn't that terrible?  It dosen't seem like Sunday night when we just sit around watching television.

This morning's service was "okay"... too many of those modern choruses to suit me.  Our hymn books are seldom used.  They actually looked dusty this morning!.  I looked at the clock.  It was 11:o'clock before the pastor even started to speak., and our service starts at 10:am.

      Sorry for unloading to you....

ps - where is Judy B these days?
"I am too blessed to be stressed".

      Etta Sue

Larry ~ No, I don't have a DSL service.  Fact is, I was using Jerry's ISP.....voyager which is own by Corecomm.  He uses the service at his place and here on his laptop.  I used it here on my desktop.  Then Jerry got a desktop also at his place.  We both could be online because of dialing from different numbers.  They said that was too many computers.  So I am paying for my own ISP which is core.com but I kept my old email address of jess31@voyager.net.  I have jess31@core.com but haven't used it.  Don't even know how to see if I have anything from Corecomm.  Need to do that.  But everytime I go to Outlook Express, it automatically shuts off the ISP service and re-dials in.  Weird.  Called a tech about it at Corecom and they don't know why.  Nothing was changed in my settings.  Just my own user name instead of Jerry's.  Hmmmm!  Probably something very simple.

Well, I have had a nap.  Jerry said he could barely hear the race on TV because of my snoring.  He needs his ears tested.  I don't snore!

      See you all tomorrow!!!

      Marilyn

Etta Sue you don't snore eh? Yeah right that's what we all say. Haha ::)
