Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

What shall I render unto the Lord for all His benefits toward me? I will take the cup of salvation.
Psalm 116:12-13

If someone is very wealthy--in fact owns everything--whatever could you give him?

This was the Psalmist's dilemma with the Lord.

He concluded that the only thing he could do was to enjoy--and to be thankful for--His generosity.
J. B. N., Jr.

He drew me out, He bade me live,
When I had nothing in return to give--
What shall I render unto Him?
From Him salvation's cup I'll take,
And serve Him gladly for His own dear sake,
This will I render unto Him.

Here it is 12:37 I should be in bed and asleep ,however I can't seem to get to sleep tonight. I was having terrible  pain in the back of my neck and decided to get up and read for a bit, I think the pain was caused from the way I was sitting and crocheting  earlier.

I am reading a good book called "Left for Dead by Dick Quinn. It was recommended by Diane Church and Zinnia (Karen) on SN. It is a true story, Dick Quinn had a heart attack and subsequent bypass surgery . This book is about his recovery and how he has learned to control his cholesterol.

Janet I would recommend that you and Darrel rad this book. Or anyone else who wants to control their cholesterol level. naturally with out prescription drugs (statins). Larry I think you should read this book also.

I can't take the statin drugs so I am interested in doing it naturally.

I got mine from Amazon for $3.50 used and it looks just like new. Of course the shipping and handling charges were just as much as the book and the postage was only $1.42 They sure do charge a lot then pay little to send media mail. Makes you feel like you got ripped off.

Well I think I will look around some more in the internet and check my email before going back to bed and hopefully to sleep.

C~U~ in a few hours.

5AM I am still awake, I got out of bed again at 3:20 and spent  quite awhile with the Lord before pickingup my book again and reading. I will no doubt sleep well tonight.

Pat I love that quote,

I am sorry you haven't slept well Marilyn.  I pray tonight will be better for you.  Nothing much worse than lack of sleep, it makes everything else appear magnified.

Had a wonderful night last night with friends.  Dinner was french Canadian meat pte.   The difference is the small amount of nutmeg and cinamon that is added.  Really very good.  These folks are going through a rough time as a result of the alienation of a teenage son.  Be praying for the dad as he is having the roughest time .

It is snowing again today dark and low visability.  Be praying for John, he has been battling the weather on a daily basis and is quite fed up with ht already and we have 3 months to go.

We are having some dear friends over for lunch today.  The kids will have fun sledding.  I must go and get ready for church, and I will  be back tomorrow.

Love Judy B

Hi everyone.  About an hour before we leave for church.  Then this evening we have a dinner at the church and at 7 pm will begin the Christmas program, starting with the small children and up through the youth choir.  Finally, around 7:30 the chancel choir will be doing 6 beautiful Christmas pieces, along with a lovely narrative written by one of our former choir members and whose father and mother now sing in the choir.

I am thrilled in that both my son and his wife and our daughter have indicated they will attend and it has been years since they have been in church at the same time.  This is only the 2nd or 3rd time our son has gone into a church since he lost his little son about 17 years ago.  I so pray that his heart is softening. I hope I can control my emotions this evening.

We had a very nice lunch with our friend who has been in the nursing home (Hootie for those how know her from SeniorNet).  She is to go back to her home today and has only been in the nursing home one week.  She is on dialysis and has many other health issues but has a super mind and is interesting to be with.

Ruth, sorry to read that you are having some health problems and hope the treatment Monday will put you back into good shape.

Marilyn, I also hope your neck is feeling better today. I got that book you referred to from eBay a few weeks ago and have been taking cayenne each day since I read it.  Since there are no known side effects it won't hurt anything (unless it is my pocket) but is worth a try.  I think we read the same postings on SN.

JudyB, I am sure the bad weather is a constant nightmare to truck drivers during the winter months.  Guess they always have to be prepared to get stranded.  Does John has a sleeping place in his cab?

Pat, thanks for the fine devotional today.

Papa John, know you will enjoy having your family with you today.  It is wonderful that so many of your family can get together.  I think that Hootie reads some of the postings on SN but just doesn't post very often.  This is based on some of her comments yesterday indicating she was aware of various things occurring with SN folks.

Hope everyone has a great day.  It is sunny and beautiful here today.

Janet

We are just home from another beautiful, Spirit-filled service.  How good it is to spend time in His presence!  I don't think anyone wanted to leave.  Pastor didn't even preach; we had praise and worship, then took communion, then he felt led to have more praise and worship, then he gave an altar call and we were blessed to witness another sould coming into the kingdom of God.

Larry, I am so happy for you, and will be praying that your son, his wife and your daughter will all be greatly blessed and drawn to the Lord during the service tonight at your church.

Marilyn, I will watch for that book.  I am currently taking Natural Cholesterol Balance and Darrel's doctor put him on the one (not a statin) that is supposed to block absorption of Cholesterol in the bowel.  Cayenne, huh?  We could do that, too.

I want to unload the pictures from my camera and charge up the batteries again.  Talk to you later!

I am enjoying a nice warm fire today ... and am being most thankful for the friends my Father has blessed me with.

Larry~The wood Don brought on Friday will probably last a week or ten days.  But I'm not skimping on using it because I know there will be more when I need it.  My Father knows what I need and I just don't need it today!

I have often thought of Hootie and wondered how she was doing.  I so enjoyed knowing her in the chat room at SN and ICQ, and then meeting her in person at the Georgia Bash.  The last comunication I had from her was when she sent the photos of herself and the man she was marrying.  I prayed they would live happily ever after.  What a sharp mind and sense of humor!  And, she regaled us all with stories of her many adventures.  I'd love to see her or hear from her again.  Of course, she knows me as Jaywalker from SN.

I am thinking about looking for something to fix for lunch so ... best get on with it.

See y'all later.......................... Jane
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Thanks for the devotional:

Again I have spent most of the day resting, all being well I will be going to work in the morning.

I  slept for an hour or so this afternoon  the headache finally went away. It wasn't a bad one just enoguh to really annoy me.

I have been reading most of the day today (Left for Dead) , crocheting a little bit and generally taking it easy and doing a lot of nothing.

I had thought I would hear some remarks to my post of yesterday where I said I would be interesting in hearing from some of you. But I guess the post wasn't read by anyone but Karma.

Well anyway I suppose it wasn't important to anyone but me. :-\ So don't bother with any answers.
