Title: New Every Morning~Lord's Day May 11

Morning Devotional...

They found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher.
Luke 24:2
Did not our hearts burn within us...while He opened to us the Scriptures?
Luke 24:32
And their eyes were opened and they knew Him.
Luke 24:31
Then opened He their understanding.
Luke 24:45

This resurrection chapter is full of open things:

Each carries a responsibility.

An empty tomb calls us to a relationship with a living Saviour.

Knowledge of Him is found in the opened Scriptures and with opened understanding, our hearts should burn to love Him more fully and serve Him more faithfully.
                                                                                                       ~S. McEachern~

The Lord is risen indeed!
Then justice asks no more;
Mercy and truth are now agreed,
which stood opposed before.

Oh my, I am too late for Saturday night's post.  Oh well, this is good too.

I went to my granddaughter Sara's graduation today, from Eastern New Mexico University.  There were 405 graduates so it took awhile.  (I realize that number is few, compared to most, but in our part of the country we only have small universities).

Earl did not feel well enough to go.  He has really been feeling bad lately.  Dr. Janice thinks he may have congestive heart failure.  We see the doctor this Wednesday so maybe we will learn something.

Larry,  I hope you are feeling better now.
I know tomorrow being Mother's Day will bring a certain amount of sadness for you, since it will be the first one since your mom  passed away.  I pray the Lord will give you comfort.  When my mother passed away on New Year's morning 1992, someone said to me that losing your mother is like no other loss you will ever have.  That was certainly true.

All of you have a wonderful day tomorrow.  May you each have a great Mother's Day.  I have already heard from all our kids.  Our 2, plus my 3 step children.

Good night, friends!
Love in Jesus, ~Janice

Happy Mother's Day to all my friends here.

Hi JANICE  I'm sorry that Earl is not feeling well, but it's good that you were able to go to the graduation anyway.  I'll pray for healing and good health to return to him soon ... and that you will get all the "right" answers on Wednesday.

MARILYN  I think that's an excellent suggestion... you and Mieka...cyber mother/daughter.  ;D  Then we can call you M & M!  haha   ::)

I am looking forward to church in the morning.  I went to the church for our Saturday night "Hour of Power" and there was no one there    :(  I suppose everyone is busy getting ready for tomorrow.  Well, I'll be there.  Maybe I'll find someone to go to lunch with.  If not, I'll just go with my Father as usual.   ;)

I'll be talking with y'all later.  Have a good day for yourselves, okay?

Good morning everyone.  I enjoyed the devotional this morning.  I have never thought of the different things that the Lord opened up for us on the resurrection  day.  That was a lovely thought to take through the day.

God bless everyone who is celebrating Mother's Day today.  We had mother's day in April, so it is past for us.  God bless all those who may be remembering their mother today.  Give these people a special blessing.

I am just about to get ready for the church meeting so I  will see you later on in the day.

Anthony.

Well, I've just returned from the morning's service.  The preacher was a man from the congregation who is, shall we say, very firy.  He explained to everyone in no uncertain terms how important it is to be saved.  It was a very straight message and I trust that the congregation took it to heart.

I wonder what sermons everyone else will be listening to today?

I am looking forward to my bible reading now and a short time of prayer.  I was looking in the Have You Prayed About It section this morning and we have a lot of needs, but we also have the Almighty God to take those needs to which is an encouragement.  So, see y'all later.

Pat ~ Yes, I said Good Night early.  But the evening was filled with time spent with my son and DIL and then I went to Ivalou's to spend time with her daughter and granddaughter.  I knew by that time it would be too late for me to get online AND get up for church the next morning.  I am ready for church now.

Judy Mc ~ My, $300 for your lawn.  I should but I don't.

Larry ~ It is a good feeling to be busy.  Then you know you are well physically and mentally.

Papa John ~ It is good that you and Cornelia are still reading the Bible together.  Me, I have my morning devotions and readings but just didn't continue reading through in a year.

Marilyn ~ NEXT year will be different for you on Mother's day.  Just think ahead!

Mieka ~ What young lady doesn't like to shop?  I remember those days.  Used to it was clothes and such....now it is groceries and lawn supplies and house cleaning products.  I don't look forward to shopping now.

Karma ~ I would like lots of cyberkids and cybergrandkids.  Just like lots of cyberfriends.

Janet ~ It sounds like you were a busy one also yesterday.  That is good!

Janice ~ I am glad you got to attend your granddaughter's graduation.  That is quite a feat.  I sure pray your husband gets better.  I am sure you will find out Wednesday what his problem is and hopefully medication for treatment.

Jane ~ Did you get your plumbing problems solved?  I pray you rested easy because of it.

Anthony ~ I am glad you didn't wake with a headache and could attend church today.  I am anxious to get to church.  Our Senior pastor will be back from vacation.  I just remembered this is the second Sunday to The Bridge is today...teen worship service.

I pray that everyone has a Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Hello Etta Sue, that is a beautiful quote you are displaying in your signature text today.  Love is what motivates God, and it is good when we are motivated by love too.

Good morning, here I am, oh yes next year will be different for ALL my holidays. I just had to stop in this morning for my daily NEM fix after my Bible reading and prayer time. Tomorrow I start on 2 Chronicles. Wow it's tough to get through all those names and numbers, slow reading trying to pronounce all those names. My KJV is the only one that has the pronunciation in it and that one stays in my car. I am still reading the Message Bible this year. Well on to the other forums. I am looking forward to church today as always. be back later.

In honor of Mothers Day, Darrel is taking me to Dodge City today for a special presentation there.  It starts at 1:00, so we couldn't go to church and also get there in time.  So I am attending TV church this morning!

I wish all the ladies a Happy Mothers Day!  For you young'uns who aren't mothers yet, I wish you a good day, too!  I think someone said, even if we aren't
mothers, we all have or have had mothers.  So enjoy the day!

Talk to you later! ;)

I was expecting to see so many posts when I came back from church - guess people are busy at church or mother's day celebrations.

We just had a good time at church with the preacher speaking on hypocrites which was a tough subject.  Our new pastor is due to come amongst us next week and the deacons are trying to get the house ready for him.

Anyway, God bless to all.  See y'all later.

Hi everyone!!!

HAPPY
MOTHER'S
DAY

I woke up with breakfast in bed that my boys had made.  That was so sweet.  They all made me cards and bought me a mother's day ring with 5 stones in it for all the kids I have.  One of them is for Michael who is with God now. I had a great time at church today.  Read in the book of Titus.  Great stuff.

I am just in here to say hi. I am going outside to pick weeds and play with the kids.

Hi everyone and Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mothers.

I am just up from resting for a couple of hours so will post while I still have the energy.  Pat and I attended Church this morning and our youth minister preached.  His topic was prayer.  He had seen a church outside marque that really caught his attention and he started and ended his sermon with what he had seen upon it.  It said:  "Is Prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?"  Interesting to think about!

Janice, sorry to hear that Earl continues to feel bad and sure hope the doctor can identify the problem and treat it so he gets to feeling much better.

Making a quick stop here before the threatened thunderstorms develop.

The morning started out beautiful - warm and sunny - but now it's getting darker and much cooler.

Our message this morning was by the son and daughter-in-law of one of our members.  They've been stationed in Kijajbe (sp?), Kenya for nine years and now are home for an indefinite stay.

Good afternoon.  Good to see so many here this Sunday.  Our preacher spoke on Hannah, and how she became a mother through prayer and gave her child Samuel to the Lord.

We honored all mothers today.  Every mother was given a flower.  A bouquet of flowers was given the mother who had the most children, grandchildren etc.  One lady had five children, ten grandchildren, and I don't remember how many great grandchildren.  Another bouquet was given to the mother who was the most recent mother.

We are having a beautiful day today after another storm last night.  We were under a tornado warning for a time and a few tornadoes hit not far from us.  The damage was not as other storms which came through here during the week.  The weather forecast indicates that for now our period of storms may be over..

It is good to see each one of you.  God bless you on this day.

--- Papa John    ;D          <:))))><<  (Jerry, notice how I stole your fish.)

Just a quick stop here to read what all you ladies did; or had done for you for Mothers Day.

I received flowers from my son and DIL today.  They were on the porch when we returned from church. :-*

Janice:  I will be praying for Earl, that you will get a good report on Wednesday. :-\

Marilyn:  Sure wish we lived near each other.  You sure would never spend it alone!  I would see to that! :'(

This morning all Mothers received a rose.

Remember the tradition of wearing a white rose if your mother was deceased; :'( a red rose if she was alive? :D

I always honoured that tradition; and did the same for Fathers Day! :D

:-[Must add this... Papa John, your church is very generous to your mothers present!  Our mothers only gott a single rose....your gave bouquets!! :-[...LOL

BTW - Our oldest mother present was 96!.  She is as sweet as can be!  White hair all done so neatly in a bun at the back of her head.  I will try and find a photo of her if she agrees.  She reminds me of a lady way back in the 1800's or so.! :D

I am just home from church and visiting Martha. We had one of the missionaries that we support come to speak this morning, She has been in Venezuela and Columbia since 1968. She told us many interesting about those countries that we don't hear on our news here in the US. Please pray for Myrna Wilkins, Venezueal is trying to become a Communist country modeld after Cube. They are making it hard for the mossionaries to get visa, and the value of the money ther which used to be  !.00 to 1.25 Us dollars is now 3000 to 1 US dollar. and the people there have not had any pay raises. She operates a Bible School there to trin missionaries and pastors of their own people. She also ministers to I forgot wat tribe of natives. It was all very interesting.

The mothers got a little gift from the Pastor of a set of measuring cups and real fancy vegetable peeler, and to those who are grandmothers also got a 1lb box of strawberries.

After I visited Martha I came home and am fixing me so spanish rice for my burritos and a salad. I expect Gilber tocall later maybe after I get home from church tonight. I know they do other this with her parents first. next year will be so different. Praise the Lord.

My parents here have only two boys of their own. I call them both my brothers. There are 8 girls (sisters) and me and now only 9 boys here because my brother Chris is gone now :'( (none of us are family for true, only in our hearts. Only the two brothers are family).

All of us are from other places and we live here together as a family. My parents are on a travel this week and will not be here at all today.  :-[ So we will all share a dinner today in their honor.

Good afternoon/evening to all.

Church was very touching this morning.  All the new babies were brought forward with their mother's and dad's.  Seems funny.....nearly all of them wanted to get the microphone.  Some wanted to eat it.   :D  Our Senior Pastor is still on vacation but the substitute had a very good message.  The music was fabulous.  There was music also with a slide show that I must find out who the artist was that drew the pictures.  He even gave us a 'test' about a Mother's Dictionary.  He said the word...we repeated and then he gave the definition.  ie 'Bed and Breakfast'...definition:  Something that no child will make.

Jerry and I decided not to stay for The Bridge.  We went out to eat and then came back here.  I decided that I wanted curtains in my dining room (old ones from my old kitchen) so I had to shorten one set and re-stitch all the others...top and bottom.  Curtains seem to come apart today when you wash them.  They stitch the tops and bottoms with a chain stitch that comes undone.   Well, I can wash these now and they WON'T come undone.  They are in the washer now.

It is cold and windy.  56°F and gusty wind.  I HAD the A/C on.  Now the furnace is on!!  But this wind has cleaned the whirly-gigs off my driveway!!!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

I spent a quiet Mother's Day. We went to church this morning then out to eat at a nice restaurant here. This afternoon I did as little as possible. It was a beautiful day weather-wise, a little on the warm side (mid-90s) but not humid. I missed  being with my children but I've had some good phone conversations. I really miss them at times like this. We'll be going to Vermont in late June and July so we'll do lots of catching up then. Can hardly wait to see my little great-grandson again.

Chape gave me flowers and some chocolate truffles that look like golf balls.  :)  Also a couple of videos for beginning golfers.

I knew that was your photo.  You are so good at using your DOF settings.

I dropped my camera today right on the lens.  I have had it for 2 and half years now and this was the first time dropping it.  It seems to be working ok.  Not sure what the focus is going to be like when I use the aperture settings.
