Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Thank you all for the kind words. Mieka, you already ARE my friend, and I thank you for your thoughts; they did help me. You are all appreciated, and I'm really
looking forward to getting to know all of you better.
Have a great night, and see you tomorrow.

joan

What a rainy day we've had!  I drove to work on the Interstate and hydroplaned a bit, but nothing serious.  Luckily people drove slower than the 70mph posted.  Nice day at the hospital - not overworked for a change and I left early at 3:30pm instead of 5:30pm.

Meika - you are such a pretty girl!  Are you a student?

Enjoyed the devotional, Pat - and also Papa John's words.  Hello to Larry,  Etta Sue, Jerry, Marilyn, Sonifo, Ruth & Anthony.  (hope I didn't miss anyone).

Doing the work of the Lord:  Meika - we planted many flowers at around our church building for all to enjoy.  Sending cards to the sick or new Christians is uplifting.  Visiting  nursing home residents makes their day.

Romans: 12:4,5,6 - "For as we have many members in one body, and all the members do not have the same function,  so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members of one another.  Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them....."

Papa John

Larry, I meant to say something to you about the granddaughters getting married.  Rebekah is getting married this Saturday which is day after tomorrow and Ruth is getting married July 26th.  Surely from one or the other of these weddings I'll get another suitable picture.

Sounds like you enjoyed the hospital visit.  We attended a meeting for our Medicare + HMO a few weeks ago and it was really interesting.  I like to keep up with the benefits we have.  Right now I can't complain with the medical care we have because of Medicare.

Joan, I'm glad you had a good day at the hospital today.  I liked your suggestions about things we can do for the Lord.
--- Papa John    ;D          <:))))><<

Everyone get a SO many words, and I only get a "hello mieka"
are you mad?
HAHAHAHA!!!  I'm sorry!  I could never be mad at you!  I think I was going to add something and then forgot!

Cami, I see that you got rid of "I'm a llama".  Looks good!

I hope you get rid of that paid soon, Papa John.  It won't be fun at the wedding with back pain.

Joan!   Great to see you again.  You sure have to be careful with the hydroplaning.  I did a bit today too down in Hamilton where it was raining more heavily than up here in Guelph.

Ms Sonifo, I am glad Mr Zachery is getting better, has he had any more pain?

Ms Cami I am glad to see you are here.

Mr Papa John I am soz you are in pain for your back again, yes? I think perhaps you need to take a dance class with Ms Cornelia -  ;D (I hope you feel better soon).

Ms Joan: I thank you, I was a student, yes. I took my cooking classes at the Art Institute. Today I am a Chef  8)  I did not wish to ever come here to talk much about cooking, because I come here to be away from it for a short times.

And I got a job today teaching the children. Not to read, but yes to dance.  8) ;D I am SO EXCITE for this. (so if you will need help Mr John, perhaps I can help you dance too ;) )

I love Chinese food. We have a place called the China House, I love it all except  the Kung Pow and that other Hot Schezwan dish they serve. But my favorite, --------Are you ready for this?----- Is the egg drop soup. I usually try to have a different dinner every time I go. The Pu Pu platters are good.

Mieka, are the children you are teaching to dance deaf.? You know they can feel the music and learn to dance quickly.

I took American Sing Language in college, but never had the chance to use it and have forgotten most of it. I can still fingerspell and know some of the signs.

Marilyn I love the egg drop soup with a little grandma sauce and soy sauce.  that is so good.  My kids always have the pu pu platter.  I don't like it myself.  Has to much meat on it.

Marilyn

Sonja: Actually I have never had the Pu Pu Platter myself, just know people who have. I don't eat that much meat either. Once in a great while I have beef. Maybe a Hamburger or I buy and cube steak and cut it in 1/2 and freeeze the other 1/2 for another time. I eat white albacore tuna, chicken or turkey for meat. But mostly tofu, soy milk, and veggies, at home. When I got out I have the meat. Got to stay healthy and keep the cholesterol down.  :P

 Just a quick good evening.

The weather here was warm in the morning then turning cool in the afternoon followed with some light rain. I think we are to have rain tomorrow as well. I guess I will stay in and get some inside work done.

Mieka ~ you have made a tired guy feel very uplifted with your talent to have fun! God was good to you when he gave you such a great sense of humour! I love it! ;) ;D

Papa John ~ I had to enjoy the talk at the seminar. I was on the audio board and couldn't leave so it is either like it or have a headache and I would rather forego the headache.  ;D

Rehearsal was as usual a little bit hard to set the blend since the lady in charge wants the instruments so loud! Oh well, I will get them blended in Sunday hopefully before service starts. They always sound better during the second service because I have had one service to get everything blended. If people want to hear the praise team sound good that is the service to attend! ;)

HUMOR

A guy was typing away at his home computer, when his six- year-old daughter sneaked up behind him.

Suddenly, she turned and ran into the kitchen, squealing to the rest of the family, "I know Daddy's password! I know Daddy's password!"

"What is it?" her sisters asked eagerly.

Proudly she replied, "Asterisk, asterisk, asterisk, asterisk, asterisk!"

I have skipped to the last page here; as I must get to bed at a decent time tonight. :'( hate it when I lay awake all night...don't we all...

I have a PRAISE ITEM: :D  This afternoon I tripped over my desk chair, :'( and fell flat on my right side.  I was sure I had damaged my hip (this is the 3rd replacement for my right hip). :-[  I am still bruised and sore, but sure nothing is broken. ::)

THANK YOU Lord!!. :D  My husband was more upset than I was. :'(... yes tears rolled down his cheeks!

Carol:  I think of Don with his arthritis pain. ???  Please tell him that! ;)

Janice and Earl:  I am praying for you! :)

Karma:  I received the book today; please watch your mail..... I will reimburse you for the postage.  It looks like a very interesting book. ;D

Just a reminder for those who are wondering which book Karma sent..."She said Yes"... (about the girl from Columbine High SDchool who acknowledged she was a Christian!! :-*

Coming in here and reading all you messages puts the icing on the cake after a great evening with a bunch of women.  Mieka, you are so funny.  Sounds like a lot of us like Chinese food.  Personally, I like Chinese buffets.  I can have a sample of all if I want.  I really like the 'meat on a stick'.  I don't know what it really is called but that is what I call it.  Chicken on a stick.  Let's see, I have 4 Chinese Buffets within 12 miles of me.  Each has their own best.  Wish they would make one Buffet and all their best would be on it.   ::)

And I see Ruth is sporting a picture in her profile now.  Good to 'see' you, Ruth.

Papa John, I hope your back stops hurting for the wedding.  I am looking forward to some pictures of the wedding.  I like weddings.

Tonight was so fun.  I was greeter at one of the doors.  Talked to two sisters that I hadn't talked to since grade school.  Talked to some girls that Tony used to go to school with.  Then I noticed a girl (lady) that was in the same class with me.  I told her that every Oct 14, I think....Happy Birthday, Donna.  She was flabbergasted to think I remembered her birthday.  Well, we did go to school 8 years together.  Then we had devotions and prayer and went to the basement.  The men cooked all afternoon and served us Baked Tenderloin with Gravy, Macaroni & Cheese, Green Beans, Tossed Salad, Rolls, Cake, Fruit Salad, Lemonade, Tea or Coffee.  Superb meal.  Then it was back upstairs to listen to a young girl read a poem, sing a song and then listen to the speaker.  She was a lady that made quilts.  She told a story about 'The Quilt Maker' and had the quilts to go along with the story.  She probably had 30 quilts.  And what workmanship, color co-ordination and detail.  Everyone of them were simply beautiful.  Some were machine quilted and some hand quilted.  The awards were passed out and we were dismissed after the final prayer.

But Donna and I stood there and tried to get caught up on almost 47 years since we talked much to each other.  That is hard to do in 30 minutes.  But it was a great evening.  Great fun.

Now it time to get to bed and get up at 5:15am.

Good night all!

Papa John:  Did you get your meds for the back pain yet?  I hope you are more comfortable now.  The book of Romans is one of my all time favourites!  Who else feels that way?! ???

Meika:  Your posts are so uplifting., and you are so cute... are you reading to the children now?  Do you know sign language?  I always wish I could have learned how to sign. :-[

I have a friend whose son is deaf.  Both she and her husband sign. :D
