Morning Devotional...

I have written to him the great things of My law, but they were counted as a strange thing.                                                      Hosea 8:12

God spoke to Israel through Hosea. Therefore her sins and apostasy could not be excused by ignorance.

In like manner, God has given us His Word, this special revelation from Himself to His people.

How tragic that we neglect it!

As God's people today, let us value and respond to His Word.

How sad that we might be guilty of counting His Word as a strange thing too.
                                                              --Donald Norbie

The book that's called the Bible,
Be sure you don't neglect,
For in every sense of duty,
It will you both direct.

Ms Marilyn: - are the children you are teaching to dance deaf.? You know they can feel the music and learn to dance quickly.

Yes Ms Marilyn, they are deaf, and I know they can feel music. - I am excite to share this time with them.

Ms McKenna:  - are you reading to the children now? Do you know sign language?

Ms Judy, it was my wish to teach these children to read,but I was told it will take many months.
They gave me the job to teach them to dance.  It is only a three days camp, so it will be Much more fun.  ;D
Oh, and yes I know the signs quite well.

I am SO sad for your fall Ms Judy, I hope you are ok.

OH MS Ruth: What a wonderful picture, How nice to see you and Mr Mel.

The Devotional:

How sad that we might be guilty of counting His Word as a strange thing too.  :-\

Please forgive me, but I do find MANY of these words a strange things to do. I know many are Gods test of faith. but I do see them as strange many times.

Sonifo

I just come in from taking a picture of the lunar eclipse. Go check it out in the photography section.

Ms Soni, why do they say it is a "lunar" and not a Moonar?

hahahaaha...I don't know why they call it lunar.

My whole family except for lila mae was outside watching it.  God is so good.  He gave us rain today and then a rainbow and now the lunar moon.
Praise God for his wonderful works!!!

Good morning to everyone.  Thank you all for praying for my friend Nigel.  What a man; I am sure that you would all love to meet him.  We were speaking together of the things of the Lord and he said that the suffering he is going through is nothing to be compared to the suffering that the Lord has gone through for us.  No matter what situation we are going through, we are comforted by our Saviour.  Thank you again for your prayers.

Pat, thank you for the devotional again.  How do you like these words?

Oh, wonderful, wonderful Word of the Lord, True wisdom its pages unfold;
And tho' we may read them a thousand times o'er, They never, no never grow old.
Each line hath a treasure, each promise a pearl, That all if they will may secure.
And we know that when time and the world pass away. God's word shall forever endure.

That's the first line to a favourite hymn of mine.

I hope everyone has a great day today.  A particular thought goes to Judy and Norm today and I hope you have wonderful time celebrating your 45th Wedding Anniversary.

God bless all,

Anthony.

Meika, if you stay up to speak to me, you would have to stay up until the early hours.  You need your rest sister :)  I am so pleased that you are able to help out with your dance lessons and using your sign language.  God bless you in this.

Good morning everyone.  Sorry I've missed posting for so long.  We've actually been really busy here and I haven't had much time to be online at all.  I wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing and say a quick hello before I dash out the door to work.  Actually I won't be dashing anywhere, I hurt my ankle last night.  But it should be ok after keeping it wrapped for the day.  Well, I must be off.  God be with you all.  Jen.

Pat

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm still fighting this crazy summer cold.  I think winter time is the time for colds--not now!   ::)

It's wonderful to see you, Jen!  We've all missed you so much.  I'm so sorry about your foot!  That's not a nice injury to have to go to work with.

Anthony, I love that hymn and I haven't heard it for years.  It's sad how many of our older hymns are not being sung now.

I have it set up and will post it in a few minutes and we can all sing it together!

Oh, Wonderful Word!
(Click to hear music)

Words: Fanny Crosby, circa 1886.
Music: Ira D. Sankey

"The Word of the Lord endureth forever." 1 Peter 1:25

Oh, wonderful, wonderful Word of the Lord!
True wisdom its pages unfold;
And though we may read them a thousand times o'er,
They never, no never, grow old!
Each line hath a treasure, each promise a pearl,
That all if they will may secure;
And we know that when time and the world pass away,
God's Word shall forever endure.

Oh, wonderful, wonderful Word of the Lord!
The lamp that our Father above
So kindly has lighted to teach us the way
That leads to the arms of His love!
Its warnings, its counsels, are faithful and just;
Its judgments are perfect and pure;
And we know that when time and the world pass away,
God's Word shall forever endure.

Oh, wonderful, wonderful Word of the Lord!
Our only salvation is there;
It carries conviction down deep in the heart,
And shows us ourselves as we are.
It tells of a Savior, and points to the cross,
Where pardon we now may secure;
For we know that when time and the world pass away,
God's Word shall forever endure.

Oh, wonderful, wonderful Word of the Lord!
The hope of our friends in the past;
Its truth, where so firmly they anchored their trust,
Through ages eternal shall last.
Oh, wonderful, wonderful Word of the Lord!
Unchanging, abiding and sure;
For we know that when time and the world pass away,
God's Word shall forever endure.

Hi everyone.  Just back from our weekly Friday morning coffee at the Senior Center here in our little town.  There were only 8 men their today but we had a nice time visiting.  This is a very compatible group of men that have been meeting on Friday mornings for over 7 years.  I just learned this morning that one of the men, Tom, who has been very ill for the last several weeks and is currently in the hospital with pneumonia, will be coming home today or tomorrow but the doctor has told his wife to contact Hospice.  Sure doesn't sound good for him.  He is a wonderful Christian man and this is so sad.

I am happy to say that I feel much better today.  I think it was the medicine yesterday as by about 2:30 yesterday afternoon I was feeling better and we went out to eat last evening.  We have a rather full day planned today as at noon time will go pickup some medicine and have something to eat, then go to the other Senior Center for a PC User's Group meeting.  I will come home and rest awhile and then we plan on meeting a couple at a Chinese restruarant this evening if I feel up to it.

Judy, I also want to wish you and Norm a very happy 45th anniversary.  I am sure glad you were not hurt badly by the fall and can imagine how frightened you and Norm were as I remember when you were hospitalized so long.  You are an amazing person and an inspiration.

Pat, another good devotional said in few words but with a full meaning.  Anthony, I see the hymn you quoted and that Pat put up the words and music for was written by Fanny Crosby, who wrote so many wonderful hymns.

Sonya, am looking forward to seeing your pictures of the eclipse (mooner or lunar) ;).  Mieka, I think that many of the English words have Latin roots.  English is a very complicated language with many words being spoken the same way but having different spellings and meanings.

Jen, it is good to see you posting again and I hope your ankle feels a lot better after being bandaged for awhile.  Sprains can be hard to get healed up so hope it wasn't a really bad sprain.

Marilyn, sorry to read about your having to return the camera for if it wasn't what you ordered and wanted then you certainly did the right thing.

Once again I want to express my appreciation to each of you who have been praying for me or thinking about me.  I think I will be fine and I believe I was very fortunate not to have my third heart attack when my bypass completely blocked.  God is good.

Hope everyone has a good day.

That was so wonderful Pat to see the words and music of the hymn posted.  Thank you so much for that.  I have read the words often, but have never heard them sang anywhere for some reason.

Jen, what a bonus to see you posting today.  We have all sorely missed you.  I am sorry to hear about your ankle and I hope it gets better soon.

God bless,

Anthony.

<edit>

I just noticed Larry and I were posting at the same time.  Hi Larry, I am so pleased to hear that you are feeling better.  Praise the Lord for that.  Your Senior centre sounds like a great thing for you all and hope that your computing goes well.  Have a great day today.

Anthony.

Pat

Anthony,
we used to sing that hymn in church quite often as I grew up.  I really like the words.

Have a look at this incredible quilt!

Good morning.  I thought I was here early enough but already we are on the second page.  Anthony and Pat that is a nice song.  I don't think I am familiar with it.

Happy Anniversary Judy and Norm

Tomorrow we drive over to Oak Ridge for the wedding.  Weddings are happy times.  Both our granddaughter, Rebekah, and her groom, Will,  are faithful and devoted Christians.  Those of you who have grandchildren understand how much we love them and pray for their happiness.

To someone who asked about whether I have the pain medicine, I do and everything is going to be fine,

A good devotional today.  Unfortunately many people think God's word is strange.  But it must not be strange to us.  I will add two passages which I think we would do well to think about today.

Rom 1:16-17  I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.  For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."  (NIV)

2 Tim 3:16-17  All Scripture is God-breathed   (inspired of God... KJV)  and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,  so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (NIV)

Good to see everyone.

--- Papa John    ;D

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Thanks so much, Papa John, for reminding us of those two verses.  How wonderful and precious the Word of God is to us who are Christians and children of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm glad that the pain is easing somewhat and that you'll be able to enjoy the wedding.  We'll all look forward to seeing the photos!

Good morning, everyone! Pat, that is a great devotional today! Papa John, your additions really made me do some thinking, too. Marilyn, I meant to ask how your bit finger was doing? Lots better by now, I hope. I wanted to thank you for leading me here to this list; you ALL are so nice. Pat and Sonifo, I am sorry that I forgot to say thank you for your assistance, but you are appreciated. I wish many more to the couple having the 45th anniversary. I hope that God blesses all of you today.

Hi PAT!  Nita's fine ... busy with family and not on line too much these days.  I seldom see her and haven't even had any email connection lately.  Actually, Monday evening, when she called and invited me to go with her to watch the sunset [she had something on her mind she needed to talk over with me, is why],was the first time in a long time that I'd even seen her.   I know she's doing well, though, just wanting to be "quiet"    ;)

HAPPY 45TH ANNIVERSARY, JUDY AND NORM!!  AND MANY MORE!

Whew!  I'm tired this morning, as it was a lot of work moving all of Curtis's stuff from his 6th floor dorm room down to our van and his car.  It took many, many trips up and down---but thank God for elevators!  (Even though Darrel and I got stuck in one of them for a while! When I told Curt, he said "Yeah, that happens a lot."

I told him he had everything in the world in that tiny room except SPACE.  They had to be pretty organized to ever find anything, they were packed so tight.  His roommate was a slob, and lazy, too.  We got there at 10:30 and Jeremy was still in bed asleep, and didn't get up until 12:45---he had a test at 1:00.  Curt said that wasn't anything new, that if Jeremy had morning classes, he just didn't bother to go.  I don't think he will be back in college next year!  And for sure, he will not be Curt's roommate.  Curt's best friend from high school is transferring to K State and they will room together.  They are working together this summer, too.

There was terrible weather around this area last night as we drove home.  We only got into the rain and wind; but Liberal got hit with tornadoes, and quite a bit of the business section was destroyed.  We have many alarm systems in Liberal, the bulk of our customers are there, so we are very concerned about them.  Hugoton was spared, but one house West of town was damaged.  We have heard from the owner of one jewelry store in Liberal, and he said the power is off for the entire city.  Many light poles are broken off, power lines in the streets, etc.  Darrel says no use going today, but he will go Monday and see what can be done to help.  I plan to go with him.

I am so far behind today I think I'm ahead!  Better get busy!  See you all later!

Hi to all,

Sitting at my desk waiting for my hubby and grand daughter to pick me up to go to Penna.

Windy out and I am looking at the "whirly gigs"falling from the maple trees. All the dogwood trees are loosing their pretty flowers and the sidewalks and streets look like a lovely pink flowery cloud.

My grand daughter wants to play tennis this weekend ; so I said OK.  went to KMART and got a beginner's racquest and now one of the guys at work is showing me how to hold it and how to "lop" at the ball ???

We are having a taco night at the club house and my Grand daughter is thrilled.  Her favorite--tacos.  We are suppose to bring an American shared dish ; so when we get to Penna. she wants to cook up "honey barbecue chicken wings."  Can't get any more American than that ,
right??

I wish I had Etta with me or one of you other marvelous cooks to whip up an Apple pie or Apple crisp.

Maybe I will have to go play Tennis tomorrow because of all the eating that we will be doing tonight.

If windy weather would slow down, we may be out fishing in the boat on Sunday.

She can't wait to see the wild life animals there,
especially the deer in our yard.

Definately will take pictures and guess what I think I may be able to get them sent to you.

Take care and as always,

Love in Christ,
Joyce
