Here we are!  We're in our new forum!  Let's all thank the Lord for allowing us to have this place where we can gather to talk about Him and what He's done in our lives.

There's  lots to do to get this place back to being "home".  I have lots to learn.  So hopefully, everyone will be patient for awhile while I do just that!

Let's all remember to read the Policy Statement so that we will feel comfortable with it.

Morning Devotional...

Thou art my God, and I will praise Thee: Thou art my God, I will exalt Thee.       Psalm 118:28

The Apostle Paul bluntly describes our brief existence on earth: "I am nothing" (2 Cor. 12:11), and "in me (that is, in my flesh) flesh dwelleth no good thing" (Rom. 7:18).

He tells Timothy "we brought nothing into this world and...we can carry nothing out" (1 Tim. 6:7).

The Lord told the disciples that "without Me ye can do nothing" (Jn. 15:5).

John the Baptist declared the only sensible action of man before His Creator, "He must increase but I must decrease" (Jn. 3:30).

When we see ourselves as we are, it should turn our eyes to the Lord that we might exalt and praise Him alone.
                                                                 ~Warren Henderson~

Thou art my God, I'll Thee exalt; my God, I will Thee praise.
Give thanks to God, for He is good:
His mercy lasts always.

WELCOME TO OUR NEW HOME!!!

Pat, congratulations!  It looks excellent!  I am tempted to explore the whole thing right now.  I'm so impressed.  I hope you're feeling a little easier with your jaw.  I'm sorry I couldn't make it out with my mom and sister last night.  But I would still like to meet with you, maybe Friday evening?  I'll call you either tonight or tomorrow evening to verify.

Papa John, how about sending some of that warm Florida weather our way?  Here we are almost in the middle of April, and we have snow, dampness, cold.  :D.

Al, I was just reading over some of the previous days' posts.  I have to say I agree with your statement that the problem is not simplicity, it's our hearts.  We've been praying for a special person to return to the Lord.  But I sometimes forget that it's not always what we do that matters, the Lord has to work a change in their heart first.  Otherwise it's not true repentence.  I push to see results, and I forget that God is working on a higher schedule than I.

Marilyn, praying for you!  I realize it can be tough, my aunt quit cold turkey years ago, and it was a battle for her.  But she's not saved.  You have the benefit of the Lord's lovingkindess and gentle guidance.  God bless you.

Karma and Nard, thanks again for opening your home to us.  It was so very kind of you.  God bless you.

Well, I have another full and busy day at the office.  I'll try to pop on when I get home, but I'm pretty much out the door again almost right away.  God bless you all and have a lovely day.  Jen.

Papa John

Congratulations Pat for a job well done.

We have a beautiful morning here in Bradenton, Florida.

Mercy Child, I am sorry about your winter weather in April.  Actually it is 76 degrees here with sunshine.

Pat, the verses you suggest in this morning's devotional really remind us how humble we should be as we stand before God.

Gal 6:3 If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.  (NIV)

James 4:10  Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.  (NIV)

Again Pat, thank you for all your work in making this site possible.

It's so good to see you all figuring out things.

The letter that you are faced with when you register on here is a letter put in by the software.  I had a query about that by someone as to the wording but I haven't figured out yet how to re-word that!

Also, Marilyn, I'm praying for you as you go from Day to Day.

I also have to probably put my cat down today.  He has crystals in his bladder and it would mean surgery to fix it and that's out of the question for me so this is sad news for me.

Hi Everyone, certainly an exciting day yesterday and today as we discover our new CP home.  I also want to express a big thank you to Karma and Bernard for providing such a hospitable place for us for the past few days and to wish them continued success with their website.

We did have a busy day yesterday and feel rather exhausted today.  It is really chilly and rainy here and I had to put on a sweatshirt for the first time in several days to be warm.  However, the yard is greening up.  We had a nice luncheon yesterday.  We had a choice of chicken salad and fruit, grilled chicken Ceaser salad or kish (not sure that is spelled correctly).  I had the chicken salad and it wasn't great but the fruit was nice.  The service was very slow and I had to leave before the key lime pie was served for dessert to get to Calvin Cove for the singing.  However, Pat brought my piece of pie home and will have it with my lunch today.  Last evening we met with 11 other friends for a delicious dinner and Christian fellowship.  Our Interim Associate Pastor was surprised and seemed very pleased with the quilt the quilters gave him.  I took some pictures but they aren't great.  However, will try to post a couple of them in the photography section.

Etta Sue, Syracuse won the men's Basketball Championship and the University of Connecticut women won the women's championship.

Sonifo, you asked in a posting yesterday what I met about Elijah being swept away.  I am referring to 2 Kings, Chapter 2:11  "As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind."

Marilyn, I hope you get the place next to your Son and family.  Glad to see you are working on stopping smoking again.

Ruth Ann, glad to read that your week went so well and that you had such a delightful time with your family.  I am sure that helped you relax from the tension of the week.

This is getting too long so will stop for now.   ::)

Pat: Can y ou put my photo in for me, I can't seem to get from my website to here. Thanks Marilyn

Good morning everyone.  This is so awesome.  Pat has done an outstanding job putting this together.

Larry~thanks for that info.  I will be sure to read that today.  Sounds interesting.  My husband had told me about a guy that was taken by the Lord, but didn't know what book it was in.  I will be sure to tell him.  Thanks

I am off to the library with Chandraya this morning.  Hope you all have a special day.

Janet

As usual, I'm late, but O WOW!!  What a lovely new home!  Now, when we get the furniture all arranged to our liking, and those painting up on the walls, we are going to be so comfortable in here!  Great job, Pat!  I know we have no concept of all the hard work that has gone into making this happen, but we sure do appreciate all your efforts! :) :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Karma and Nards, I just went back to your "house" to make sure we left it all clean and tidy, and I left you a plate of macadamia nut, white chocolate chip cookies on the counter as a small thank you for your wonderful hospitality these past days.  You're the best! :-* :-* :-*

Now I must go see what else is here, in the other rooms of our new house!
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

Etta Sue

A fairly long post replying to yesterday's post.

Karma ~ I sent the recipe by email.  Thanks for asking.  Edit:  Will put the recipe in our NEW HOME.

Marilyn ~ That will be wonderful living next door to your son and grandkids.  Will you be able to have your dogs with you?

Pat ~ Isn't it great to have unexpected company?  I like that better than planned company.  Less work on me to get the house ready for company... ;) ;)

Sonja ~ I haven't taken any sunsets lately...it has been cold and gloomy here for a week.  And I have finished Week 4 of my lessons...
http://ettasue.homestead.com/PageFour.html  ...You may check them out here.  They are getting easier or I am getting smarter.  Probably easier!

Papa John ~ I have a comfort and a peace in my heart knowing I respect God and, in return, through Christ Jesus, that I have the assurance of everlasting life and that He will be with me each day.  I am so thankful that I am a child of God. I pray that everyone who doesn't have this comfort and peace that they will someday before it is too late.  It is never too late to become a child of God but may be too late NOT to become a child of God.

Janet ~ I am so thankful your blood pressure is fine now.  Slow down or you may be down!  :-\

Al ~ Yes, closure with God is simple.  Once you know in your heart, you think,...."Well, that was easy.  Why have I wasted so much of my life when it was easy after all?"  But then, it was God's timing...not ours.

Marilyn ~ Jerry and I had a great lunch.  We were going to Texas Roadhouse but it didn't open until 4pm.  So we went to El Camino Real...there is one restaurant in Noblesville but we went to a new one south of me.  Lots of Mexican men who work in construction having lunch in there.  That area of the county is an on-going change with new homes, schools, businesses and conveniences.  This county is bounding with change.  After lunch, we went to Super WalMart to get some groceries in for the freezer.  I had help bringing the bags in from the car.... ::) ::)

Karma ~ Your story of the little girl made a tear come to my eye also. Isn't God's glory wonderful?  :'( :'(

Janice ~ Jerry said he saw the same thing on Anthony's page.  I didn't see it.  When he was here yesterday, he, too, said it was gone now.  And it was the site that Pat is building.

Jeanne ~ I am so sorry that the warm weather I sent to you turned south.  :-\  But warm weather is on the way.  God promised us seasons so spring is on the way.

Ruth Ann ~ Glad your trip was fruitful.  Isn't it great to be back home?

Sonifo

Etta Sue~That is some awesome stuff you are doing!!!  I am going to have to try to do week 4 now.  I love it.  Good job!!

Janet~you had mentioned a story you heard on the tv about a couple in Wy.  what was it about?

Marilyn

I have posted a couple of recipes to get our kitchen section going and Janice has also posted one for Yummy Pudding.
Pat were you able to save any of the recipes from the other forum. I am so sorry to hear about your Victor. Our prayers will be with you as you make that dreaded decision whether or not to put him down. I know that Geordie will miss him too. Oh Pat this is such a hard thing to deal with I am in total sympathy with you as I sit here with tears streaming down my face I know how you must feel.

Janet thank you so much for going in to make sure we left Karma and Nards place clean and leaving them some cookies on the counter. How sweet of you.

Etta Sue I most certainly will be able to take my dogs with me, if my dogs aren't welcome neither am I. Gilbert told his landlord that I have 2 med. large, dogs and 1 lap dog. He had no objections, in fact he had told Gilbert some months ago that he could get a dog. Well I have washed my car and now I must get myself going here and get those errands done.

I shall return.
God bles everyone.

When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,

It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, tho trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

My sin --oh, the bliss of this glorious tho't:
My sin, not in part, but the whole
Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

And Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll,
The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

It is good to see so many today in our new home.  We DO appreciate Karma and Bernard's helping us with a temporary home while Pat was working on this one.

I did have a good swim today as we continue our Florida vacation.  Next week our daughter, Beth, with her husband, James, will be with us.  Then on Monday the 21st we will take off to go back to Nashville.

Etta Sue, isn't the peace we have as Christians wonderful!  I often think that regardless of what problems we may have we can have peace of mind knowing that God is our Father and Jesus is our Savior.  Your statement reminds me of   Rom 5:1-2  "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,  through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God."  (NIV)

It has been hard for  meto keep from watching the TV today.  It looks like Sadam's regime is about over.  I am praying for our young men and women who are in harm's way and also for the Iraqi people that they will truly be free from this dictator.  And I am praying that the war will soon be over and that our troops can return home.

1 Tim 2:1-4  I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.  (NIV)

Jerry, I'm glad you have signed up.  You always have some good words of wisdom.

Papa John i have the same problem withthe tV today, i finally just had to shut it off and go take care of the errands i had to do. Then when I came back home on it went again, only now i switched to channel to TBN.  I am enjoying my day off by visiting here and SN and trying to think of things to put one here in the kitchen section, since I am no good at posting photos and all my photos can be veiwed in my album on my web site.

Pat Are we all starting over as Newbies except for the moderators.? I used to be a Maestro. WHOOPEE big deal I got over 500 posts in before we left the other place. I'ts not like I am anyone special. I'm special only to God as we all are.

Living next door to Gilbert wqas the original plan, we just got side tracked for awhile and God answered the original prayer request. He knows whats best for all of us. I will be better able to be a witness to my son, wheter verbally or by beign a living witness. It will give me a chance to let my g-kids, see and hear me praying, reading the Bible, and to tell them Bible stories. If Gilbert doesn't object to loudly. At one time he told me Not to read them Bible stories  :'( and I don't know what he did with the Childrens Bible I sent to Savannah a few years ago, it had been Gilberts Bible.
I shall return.

Hi Denise,  it is nice to see you posting.  I am also a homeschooler.  I have 4 kids and love photography too.  I am looking forward to getting to know you.
http://www.karnardkreations.com is a site that just opened up for homeschoolers.

WELCOME ELLAMAE!!!
WELCOME DENISE!!!
I am sure that both of you will feel right at home here.

Papa John~ Thank you for your kind words.  I read scripture everyday...sometime several times a day....but I don't know scripture.  I know what is in my heart and my heart feels at peace.  Then when I read scripture, His Word reaffirms what my heart feels.  During sermons at church, I am a great head-nodder!!!

Whew!  I had a time of it.  I logged onto CP in Jerry's name and put his picture in his profile since it is on my Homestead account.  Then it wouldn't let me log back in in my name...said wrong password.  Hmmm!  I use the same password for nearly all my sites.  But I re-booted and all was well in entering CP once again!

Yes, it seems that Saddam has lost power in Iraq.  Now I just wish these journalists would quit second guessing everything and asking questions that they know should not be told the answers yet.  Now it sounds like a big debate and, for me, it is taking the joy out of watching Saddam's ugly statue fall earlier this day. Just my opinion.... ::)

QuotePat Are we all starting over as Newbies except for the moderators.? I used to be a Maestro. WHOOPEE big deal I got over 500 posts in before we left the other place. I'ts not like I am anyone special. I'm special only to God as we all are.

Not sure what you mean!   ???

No big deal Pat, I hope I wasn't being offensive, :-[ I tried to make a joke of  it and it seems Idid badly. :-X even though I did try to clean it up it still came off badly. :-[
I was only asking if we are all starting over as newbies, that's what it says under our names except for those we already know are moderators . I"m Sorry, I :-[ repent for the offense, I love you.  :-*

We've all started over, Marilyn.  We all started at 0 posts.  No, you didn't offend me.  I just wondered if you thought that the Moderators had more posts or something.

I need to have them still be helpers as they were before so they just have their title back so that they can continue doing their "job".  It means that they can edit and help people with their posts and also look after building up their areas.

So, that's the only difference.  We've all started at zero posts--even though I have the total on my computer of everyone's posts as of the last day or so that we were all posting at the old site!

Anyway, no problem with your asking!   ;D :-*

Hi y'all!

I have noticed quite a few recipes in 'IN THE KITCHEN' and that is super great.  I would like for everyone who submits recipes to put the title of the recipe for the topic AND also in the text part where you type the recipe.  I like the title in the text to be bold, also.  Now there is a method to my madness...when you copy and paste this to wherever...Word or NotePad....then you don't get all the gobbly-goop at the top.  It makes a neat recipe that can be printed, cut and trimmed and put into your recipe keeping place.  See, I told you there was a method to my madness!!   ;) ;)

Thank you all for making this area a delight to visit!  God Bless All of You!   :-* :-*

Pat

Good idea, Etta Sue.

I found some of the recipes that we had before.  I guess I can post some of them and I'll put who submitted it before.

Hey everybody!!!!!!

Well, in about 20 minutes I will know if I "won" a bid on ebay for a photography light kit.  If so, I will only have to pay about $130 instead of $300.  :-\  Not that I have an extra 130, but I will need them to do the prom pictures I mentioned, and hopefully I will make enough to pay for them.

Marilyn, I am praying that your son's heart be softened, and that your g-c will be hungry for the word.  My preacher told a story about his father Sunday morning.  He was a drunk, and his mother was a devout Christian who had prayed for him for 40 years.   Finally, she said, "God, you love him.  do whatever you have to do to make him Yours.  If you have to put him flat on his back, and make him sick, I will take care of him.  Just save him."

One day, she told him she needed to talk to him.  Wanting ot avoid an argument, he said okay.  Instead of talking to her husband, though, she prayed the above prayer out loud.  He was shocked.  Two weeks later he accepted Christ, and never drank again.

I've read your testimony.  I think when your son can see the change in you on a day to day basis, and that it is real, no matter what, he will want what you have.

hey, Pat, I may have missed this, but are you going to connect the forums and the main page with links?  Not a biggie, just curious.  It looks great over there.

Bernard is home, time for supper (which is good, cause I am HUNGRY!)

Take care, I love youns!

I have activated the Precious Bible Promises thread, come in and post scriptures there, please.

But remember, this place is for the pure Word of God, so that we can find Scriptures when we need them.  Thanks for your help.

I have also posted some photos in our freshly painted gallery!

Wheee!  We're off to a great start, I think!

You've just GOT to see Janet's photos of her darling grandson!  And the peach blossoms!  WHEWWWWWEEEE!!!  Yep, we're on a roll, Janet!

Thanks for mentioning the Precious Bible Promises.  I think that's the only area on our forums where we don't want any conversation.  We only want scripture verses alone.

Thanks, Janet, for starting up that great area again.  I used it a lot when I needed a verse for a special reason.

Well, I have to say that this has been a busy day here at Christian Photographers.  Thank you again Pat for all your work.

It is good to see some newbies.  Of course we are all newbies in a sense.

I hope you all have a good night's rest.  We have had a very nice day here on the west coast of Florida.    ;D

Well .... Thought you'd get away from me, did you? :P

I already had this place marked so I would have found you anyway!

I love this new home, PAT, and I sooooo appreciate all the hard work (translation: labor) you've put in on getting it up and running.  Also the stress and frustration (at times) in the initial search.  I think we have all managed the "move" quite well.  Are you going to have a roll call?     :D

I'm also so sorry to read of your Victor.  I know Geordie will miss him almost as much as you will.  God will comfort your heart.  I know this 'cuz He always does!

I am on my way to church in a few minutes, so I'll have to come back later to check on everything.  I'm just so happy that we have a new home and a place to gather together in Christian love and fellowship.

Take care

Yep! And, wouldn't you know, I'd be busy as a paperhanger in a high wind at work today.

At least, though, I'm not "nervous as a long-tailed cat in a roomful of rocking chairs" like I was before the meeting last week.

See - y'all can laugh with (not AT) me for my "southern-isms!"

SO many thanks for Pat's undying love and hard work to get this site up and going. My, Pat, you're good - God loves you best, and we're right behind Him!

Sorry about your kitty. My son had a loss with one of his dogs a few weeks ago - it's really difficult to deal with. I'll be thinking about you and Georgie.

Well, I'm headed to bed. It's good to be settled into our new home. Hope I'll have the time to post here more often.

And, although he has withdrawn from our fellowship, I thank Anthony for providing our first home. I love him as a Christian brother and am praying for the difficulties he's enduring at this time.

Y'all have a good evening.

Well Good night y-all, here's a question for you all to ponder and the i will give you the answer later.
When David said in Psalm 103, that our sins were cast as far as the east is from the west, would it make any difference if he had said from the north as far as the south. Which is further away.???
God Bless every one of you and sleep well.

Love in Christ

Marilyn,  I think it would make a great deal of difference.  If I start out travelling west, I can eventually get back to where I started without ever travelling east.  They never meet.  BUT, if I go north, at some point, I start back south again, so they actually have a meeting point.  You can go west or east infinitelly and never change directions.  But you can only go north so far, and with the weather they are having, I think southern virginia will do it for me!!!
