Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

From Chris Saunders

"Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our Hope, 1 Tim. 1

No one else can say this. Paul was a blessed man, captured by Christ to give the Jews one last chance, a member of the Sanhedrin, fully versed in the Law, very well respected, fervent in his work against Christians, hauling them off to prison, surely his tremendous conversion to Christianity would be a sign to Israel that Christ whom they crucified was truly God in human flesh, surely they would see in this man the truth, that the Father is in the Son, that they had crucified their Messiah..
They had always asked for signs and wonders like all unbelievers do, now here was another great sign, Paul the persecutor... Paul the Apostle... What a change, but no, friends, it did not matter that he was now Christ's man, now they just hated him as much as they hated Christ, it came to the point that God had given them their last chance, now Paul in Acts ch. 13. says this..
"It was necessary that the word of God must first be spoken to you, but seeing that you refuse it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the gentiles, for so the Lord has commanded us.. I have set you to be a Light to the gentiles.

The great Apostle to us gentiles was obeying his calling full time.

For a time Israel was to be made jealous by the gospel being given to us gentiles, but one day they will be united with us in a glorious church.. Come Lord Jesus.

Good evening everyone. I apologize for being so tardy in starting July's thoughts.

Joh n and Doug are definitely ruadnning team from Toronto to California.  This is going to proove interesting as I really do enjoy having John at home and not on the road..

Doug and John did arrive homeon time for the last prepaations for the wedding... Pictures will follow!

I was out weeding the garden today and have again hurt my back, hip and leg.... This has become chronic.  I am not supposed to take anti-inflamitories however I will tonight so I can actually rest to heal.  Son in law Jon, and I have worked hard on this weeding, and we are about half done.  We have a nasty weed that has plagued us for years.  Google wild radish, and look at the seed pods.  We need to get this job done before the plant seeds..... It is supposed to rain tomorrow. so no weeding. We are good with that,  no rain we will be out there weeding again, and we are good with that.
Philippians 4:11
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

I have been reminded of words of my mother.
Weeds are like sin, you have to get the root ot they come back 7 fold.....

There that's good enough!  Mom would say "Good enough for who? Jesus?"
I now say there that's better.

What sayings did your moms have?
Have a great rest of the week folks!

Jacqueline

Judy B...i am not familiar with that saying but, one i shall pass on at my church " Weeds are like sins, you have to get to the root of them, otherwise they come back, 7 fold "

Judy:  Thank you for the sweet music.  I hope you recover from garden work quickly.

Our daughter and SIL are in Italy and in Rome now - they are going to a soccer game and visit the Vatican too.  She said everything is hyper over soccer.

Here, we are on the lookout for an elk - we do have deer but I have never seen an elk in the suburbs.  Probably this is different since all the summer fires in the hills.

Take care all!  If you are just viewing this site, please stop and say hello and tell us a little bit about yourself.

Here is the wedding picture from the 26th of June

Editied Dougs wedding.jpg

Yesterday I was here cooling off after weeding and decided I was going out to dinner.  I called Liz and took her with me.  She is a wonderful young lady.  We ate out then picked up a couple of things from Walmart and headed home.  We passed Tim Hortons (coffee and donut shop) and we just had to get an Ice Cap..... That was really refreshing on a hot day!

I am doing much better these days with my legs.  THey are getting stronger and the pain is not as debilitating as last week.

We are dealing with a horribly invasive weed called Wild Radish..  Here is some info for those who don't know what it is.....

http://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/WEEDS/wild_radish.html
There are 2 bad areas I have to attack and I'm getting there
I have to get rid of it before the flowers go to seed..... also the seeds can lay dormant for years.... It is a difficult job, the plants are prickly and many have wound around the roots of good plants....beans corn peas and the like.  We have pulled good plants as we pull the weed.  However having said all that we are making progress!

That's a great picture of you and John and the happy couple!

My follow-up app't with the cardiologist was good. He said the EKG was good and there is no leaky valve as he had suspected.
The meds are working, so I'm to just keep on doing what I'm doing and come back in six months.

The weather here on the coast is really mild ... temps in the 60's. Just a few miles inland, though, they increase substantially.
Marilyn is also on the west coast, so she gets similar weather.  We are truly blessed.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

A beautiful family photo - the bride looks radiant.  Isn't it wonderful to have some happy news?  Bless this new marriage!

Did you know I can be in two places at the same time?  Well, in checking my next doctor appointment they scheduled me for two appointments at 2 o'clock.  I have to tell them I am not Super Woman!

Jane:  Your check-up great news is wonderful news to all of us.

Judy:  It is hard to stop an invasive weed - this one sounds like a monster weed. I am going to listen to the Gaither  music now - they have been around for years.  Thank you!

Jane:  Hurrah for your great news from your doctor!

When I was a little girl, my dad always gave my brothers and me money to buy Christmas presents for him and my mom. One year, I picked out two coffee mugs to give them. They weren't the height of mug fashion, but they weren't tacky either. Now, wouldn't it have been awful if my dad had opened them and exclaimed, "Cheap mugs!?! Is this all you could get?" But he didn't, of course. Not in a million years! Why? Because he always gave to me in proportion to what he expected to receive from me.
Friend, the same is true of God. He gives you what you need to serve Him. He supplies what you need so you can obey Him. If He calls you, you can be sure He has equipped you! So, don't hoard or rebel or be afraid when it comes time to do what He asks of you. Instead, take courage and do the next right thing with all that God has given you. You got this!

I have some time before driving to a hospital procedure. Yesterday was interesting for us to witness the downing of large evergreen tree in the yard.  It has been too close to the STOP sign and where people are supposed to signal before they turn right.  The majority forget to signal and blame it on the tree .  I will miss the chirping of little birds in nests all over the landmark tree.

Jackie:  I triple check all my appointments now.   ::)

Yesterday, 5 neighborhood friends came for lunch.  We have our bible study starting up soon too - the books arrived late so that will begin next week.  Everyone always pitches in with one dish so there is more than enough and nice leftovers for supper.  All five are widows and they are strong in faith.  One dear friend lost her husband and daughter & son separately and she is so impressive to be functioning so well.

Here, we are not staying outdoors at all with the pollution from mountain fires.  Everyone wants a good snowstorm to tamp down the fires.

Jackie:  Someone checked on the double booking so I didn't have to run in circles.

Good evening follks.

I had my second shot on Tuesday and the balance of the week I felt like I had been hit by a Mac truck.  I slept today away, woke up at 5 PM and feel much better.

We have rain, too much rain in my opinion, however the forest fire areas are praying for rain.  Here is the link to see what we are dealing with...

There have been days where we were warned to stay inside.  We could smell the smoke.  I finally last saturday got the remaining wild radish pulled out of the garden.  It was a long hard road to travel, it is a weed that can (and does) remain dormant for years.  This is going to be a marathon getting rid of it.  http://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/WEEDS/wild_radish.html.

John and Doug are out trucking together.  This is proving to be a wonderful time for Dad and son.  They are bonding like never before. That makes this mom's heart rejoice.

I see so many memes on FB that "If you believe in God? Share if you do!"  That statement reminds me of the verse in James.

James 2:19 (NKJV) You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Janet

Hello, Friends!  I have been among the missing for quite a while.  I will try to keep a long story much shorter (wish me luck with that!)

I had been feeling really tired, and on my appointment with my NP Ginny, she was listening to my heart and frowning--I wondered why she was frowning, and she said, "Janet, your heart is beating WAY too slow.
It's only 40!  So I wound up in the hospital in Garden City getting a pacemaker installed.  I expected to feel a lot better soon, but that hasn't happened; I am still very fatigued, and it has been over a month. So I haven't been getting much done.  Judy, I surely couldn't pull those nasty weeds!

I wanted to ask about the wedding photo: who are the couple getting married?  (That's what I get for missing so much in here!

I do have some good news!  My two books about Beth are being made into a movie!!  For real!  I can hardly believe it!

So good to read all your posts, and God bless us, every one!

...oh not what you was expecting, a brand new heart...now the upkeep of looking after your new pacemaker...keep it to the beat and it will look after you...
...Wow a film, this is going to make you famous...your Beth would have been so proud of you...God bless her...

Thank you, Jacqueline.  Beth is the reason I wrote the books, to honor her life and bring glory to God.  This deal was completely unexpected!  I know God is in it because the enemy is trying to throw up roadblocks along the way.  But with God on my side, we will complete this huge project.  Had a call last night from the producer, she said they are now looking for people to play the parts.  Can't help wondering who will play Janet!   ;)

This will be another busy day, but at least I can stay home to work!

Blessings to all of you!

I do believe!

I also believe much in our lives  are planned.

Yesterday - I walked to a friend's house for our bible study and she was not home.  So, I knocked on the door of one of the widows in the group and she opened the door showing her crying.  She has been through so much with the loss of a daughter years ago, then her husband here just a couple of years ago and now her son died suddenly.  We don't know each other really well but she needed a hug and I stayed and she talked for over an hour.  We prayed together - and I know that this simple visit was planned by the greater good guiding us through life.  Glad to have that experience and simply listen to her grief.

Janet:  We all appreciate your update and thankful you have good medical care now.

Judy: Thunder Bay - that means hockey to me - and it is not far from Duluth where Don and his family lived.

Best to all.

Jacqueline

Carol...
...your story lifts my heart as i know the feeling of just someone who offers to give one a hug when one is so desperately needing one...I too found myself in this same situation not long after my Richards sudden death, for me it was our female young post lady delivering my mail to my front door...One hug is all one needs even if it comes from a stranger...

Janet...
...they say we all have a double somewhere, just hope when they find your double, she can act... ;)

Janet the couple was my son Doug, and his Beautiful wife Liz... They were married June 26th.  Also I have heard that those with pacemakers work out very well, just takes time to get it set correctly.  Praying!

John seems to be able to sleep in a moving truck..... He must either be really tired or really trusting, God and Doug.

I have been worn down by the garden.... I have picked 8 walmart sized bags of yellow beans, with more coming.  Then there is purple beans and green beans..... Carrots peas beats and so much more.  We have a storm going on .... So that means no picking of purple beans tonight!

I am tired, however the LORD is lifting me up! Instead of more pain I have strengthened leg and back muscles.  That in and of itself is an answer to prayer.

We have had more rain this year than what we get most years. God knew what we needed and has been plentiful in his gifting!

The fires in the North West are not under control for the most part. There is a new one near Sault St Marie, and the other near Timmins is out. The closest one is 4 driving hours away. Much closer as the crow flies.

Here is a map not sure if you will be able to see it.

https://www.lioapplications.lrc.gov.on.ca/ForestFireInformationMap/index.html?viewer=FFIM.FFIM

Our dogs have been going crazy at night and we have wondered why.  Well last night Heather and Jon came home late and were greeted by 2 porcupines... No wonder the dogs were upset!  When Heather opened the door she couldn't stop Zeke from going out.....Thankfully he was more interested in on than the porcupines!

These are scary times, this summer, has been difficult for so many. I pray for each of you.
