Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Wonderful message, yes, Jesus is here, Jesus and God wont let us down...

Have a Safe and Blessed Christmas...

In our troubled world, " less is more " less money to spend and waste - less partying - less food and alcohol to eat and drink, for once, we might just focus on Christmas's true meaning...

Running late but I am here - thankful.

We had a different Christmas day with oldest son in Texas, one grandson still recuperating super great staying in his apartment.  Two grands came to visit (one is in pilot training) and his sister works online from home - she brought along two peaceful dogs.  Two sons stopped in separately and chatted - all with masks and so forth.

The previous day - I was taking my evening pills and a big calcium pill stuck in my throat.  Sipping water did not help - it was so bad, I couldn't get my breathe and came out to find Don - I could not talk but thankfully he heard my gasping for breath.  He did the Heimlich maneuver on me twice and the pill dropped out.   That was my fright and my forever thankfulness.
I was praying first that Don could hear my distress and next for him to help. Both of
us have taken first aid classes years ago.  Very very thankful! Also, thankful that my rib cage didn't break - it was something I never want to go through again.

We gave a goat this year - to Lutheran church - they and others keep working to help the poorest people.

Here, it is warm enough to take a walk today and then winter begins once more.  Up and down - so it is when you live near mountains.

Janet:  Wonderful news on a new baby in the family.

Judy:  You mentioned dizziness and we notice that when leaning slightly forward or not placing our feet flat on the floor.  I think it has something to do with our shutdown and not being able to communicate with friends and family as much as normal.  We never tip over but come close.  We are at higher altitude even higher than Denver which brags about being mile high.  A few neighbors mention it as well.

Take care - all this shall pass.

Carol

Janet:  are you still recuperating?  Prayers for your pain to cease!  What was your Christmas like?  Different?

We had the most loving conversation with grandson who is still recuperating.  Two grands (brother and sister) came for a visit and the rest of the clan came and we followed the rules of the year - still had a wonderful visit.  I still miss the church service - online is so-so - I end up taking up one the books already read years ago but still full of the Good News!  One gift for us was a small hard shelled sanitizer.  It kills germs & the thermomitor was the first thing I sanitized.  It is a sign of the times - who would ever think of that as being a welcome gift?

Don is watching another football game today - so far, the virus has not stopped sports.

Judy:  Yes, it could get too cold to snow in Minnesota.  I was always thankful that Don didn't mention moving to Duluth (icebox of the nation) - where he was used to the Lake Superior freezing.

On my mind right now is the news from my medical group that I can sign on for an appointment for the vaccine.    Fat chance!  The site is just awful and what a mess - some tech people try to get too fancy and this is not working. Giving thanks that there is a shot (two) for the virus - hoping a practical person takes charge.

Time to heat the gravy and bread that is all Don wants for supper.  Take care all - You are in thoughts and prayers.

I see I haven't been here in a while. Not much going on here so just checking in. We are OK Survived Christmas without being able to go visit family, However I will be  moving back to CA within 6 months. I've been making daily trips to Goodwill trying to get rid of the clutter in this house before wee sell it.  I don't want to move anything I don't have to or that we won't be using.  Just the bare  necessities. We can always buy what is needed or that we can't do without. Keith doesn't want to move or sell the house but I told him he either moves with me or goes into Memory care. because he can't stay here and can't even take care of himself.

I have a place all picked out in a manufactured home park that Gilbert is going to look at for me and make the offer, he can also make the down payment because he is on my bank account.

We had a peaceful Christmas seeing almost all of the family.  The injured grandson is doing very well and keeping to a strict exercise routine.  were able to catch up with relatives and friends so that was fun.  No church service - I really miss that part of our lives.

What a mess this day - I am trying to get a virus shot and twice the offer that comes by email is too late.  Today, they sent the message in the middle of the night so all the slots were closed when checking early this morning. I believe this is being handles so poorly right now  - who in the world keep the laptop on to check all night long?

Marilyn:  Best wishes to you on taking care of all those matters regarding your move and the same for your husband.

Judy:  When we lived in Minnesota - the radio would report radio stations in Alaska laughing at us because sometimes we were colder - hard to imagine but true.

Carol

I just got home after having the first part of a procedure - this was a swab inserted into both sides of the nose and from that they can determine if I have Covid..  I expect an email soon that will give me guidelines for setting up the actual needle jab.  Don has not heard from the VA yet about getting his vaccine. Am surprised there are two steps to for this and I hope everyone can take time to get both appointments.

The worst part is - people are driving like maniacs - yes, that is absolutely what we see out there.

Our lady pastor - she is equal to the other male pastor, called and we had a wonderful chat.  The church has set up videos of services with band members sitting apart - the choir is not there.  How sweet they are to put themselves out there for us to listen to the wonderful music and get the message.  I miss going up to the altar for communion.

Our church has always had anyone who could walk go up to the altar and receive communion.  Don traveled a ton of miles and was away so much. I would take the children to the front to kneel and they would receive a blessing touch on their heads.  Once, I had my eyes closed and realized there was laughter in the church.  I looked at the kids and two of the boys were racing their little cars on the railing.  Totally mortified but Pastor blessed them and we made it through that embarrassing incident.
