Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Good day all.  Thankful to be here & Don's first hug of the day.  Thankful for my family - friends and truly thankful for all of you here.

JudyB:  Kassie is engaged?  How could that be happening so soon?   :)
Happy for you and her and all the family.  It is about time you knit a sweater for yourself  -- nice Canadian touch to your personal sweater - Maple Leafs.

Larry:  That cold sounds like a mean one.  Sleep and rest when you can.

:coffee:  I am looking forward to a cousin (2 cousins) lunch next week and perhaps our oldest son will be in the area to join us.  They live in Minnesota so very happy to get away at this time of the year.  I will bring two hot dishes and rolls .

Janet

I was here early to read but didn't get a post done.  Trying to tie up loose ends, to be ready to leave on Wednesday.

It got VERY windy here today; warnings of extreme fire danger, and already there has been one wildfire and a house fire in Pratt that took the lives of four little children, ages 3 months to 5 years.  The mother is hospitalized in critical condition.

I had lunch with a lovely friend today; such a treat!   :)

I will say good night now, as I have no real news to share.

I am thankful for a hubby who took me out today to take some pictures.  It has been a beautiful day overcast but still beautiful.

Yes Kassie is engaged.  She has always been our fireball, her young man has a way of handling that.  She will be 6 weeks off 24.  I know I am prejudiced but she is a beautiful young lady!

This sore throat, sneezing, and sinus congestion has got me down, thinking a trip to the clinic may be in store. Ugggg.

Larry feel better soon!

Talk to you all tomorrow.

Hi Everyone.  It is beautiful and sunny day here in South Carolina.  I am feeling somewhat better this morning after a good night of sleep. I did fix Pat's breakfast a little bit ago and cleaned up the kitchen and took care of a couple of other small task. As a result I am ready to restore my energy as found I didn't have much stamina this morning.  The housekeeper will be here in a few minutes.  Pat did call her yesterday and explained we both had been ill and gave her the opportunity to delay her visit but she choose to come anyway.  We don't think we are contagious and that the coughing is something that we will have to deal with for awhile as it seems to be staying with people for several weeks.  I have nothing on the calendar for today so it can be another one to basically rest.

Carol, this is a nice time to visit in Arizona when one lives in Minnesota.

Janet, how dreadful about the house fire and loss of those young lives.

Judy, for some reason both Pat and I have avoided a sore throat.  Congratulations to Kassie and it sounds like you like the young man she is to marry.  Take care of yourself and it sounds like a visit to the clinic would be in order.

Jackie, I love to get away from home for a little while but also am always happy to drive into my driveway and get back in the house safe and sound.

Carol

Checking in to CP for daily uplifting people!  :)

Janet:  How tragic for the family - I remember that happening when our children were young in a rural area.  That family didn't have a smoke alarm.  So sad for your community.

JudyB:  My cousin Judy is visiting from Minnesota - staying at another cousin's home.  I know three Judys now - all of them are so much fun! All three are active in church.   Everyone will be so happy when this winter of flu and colds ends.

Larry:  Cleaning before the cleaning lady arrives?  I know- you probably wanted to have things put away - it just did sound funny.  A good idea to have a day of rest.  Are you two feeling like you are on the mend?

We put a block of bird seed out in the back - it is called a Quail block.  There are probably 30 birds back there and not one quail has arrived at our house - yet.

Carol...
...no flooding's in our areas, nor did I see any flooding's on our travel route late yesterday evening...but a neighbouring county of ( Somerset ) did get some...thank you for asking... :)

Larry Hanna...
...I am the same, after any lengthy journey back home, is, the first things I do, not sure in which order, is to put the kettle on, and make a desperate trip to the loo...

...They have been saying on our today news that too many GP Doctors have been prescribing antibiotics for sore throats which dont do anything for a sore throat...and to save the antibiotics for the illnesses that really need them...they are being told to " stop prescribing precious antibiotics for sore throats..."

Yes a trip to the doctor, a throat swab, and diagnosis a virus.

Thankful for a hubby who insisted that I be checked out.

It is late and we are heading to bed.  Night all!

Hi Everyone.  It is an overcast morning.  I had sort of a rough night with this terrible cough.  I spent the night in my easy chair and after several hours of hacking and coughing I finally brought up a small amount of mucus and the coughing pretty much stopped and I was able to get a few hours of sleep.  However, I couldn't use the CPAP nor the oxygen last night and feel it this morning so am just going to say I hope all have a good day.  Hopefully I will have more energy tomorrow.

Carol, I think we are on the mend but it appears this will be a long lasting event.  Pat's cough is much better but mine has a ways to go.

Jackie, I guess doctors are just guessing about the need for antibiotic.  I think this has been a problem for quite awhile.  Glad you haven't had any flooding in your immediate area.

Judy, so sorry that you have the flu.  Fortunately, Pat and I haven't had the flu but bad colds and bronchitis.

Carol

Checking in and it looks like everyone is a tad better and hopefully your coughs will be better every day.

So discouraged looking out in the back yard as the javelinas leave such a mess.  We never had it before and now it is every night the herd comes into our yard.  Too bad that javelinas made it to the Ark - dreadful and worthless.  A fence would be too costly.

Larry:  Wishing you and Pat a restful and recuperative day.  We are trying hard to stay away from all the flu and other germs.

Janet

So sorry for our members who are fighting with coughs and other symptoms.  I hope they all get better quickly.  I'm still having a few symptoms, but feeling so much better and we are still planning to leave on Wednesday.

I wanted to make a correction.  Some of you thought I meant the awful house fire was here in our town; it wasn't here, but in Pratt, about halfway between here and Wichita.  Very sad indeed.

Darrel and I are just home from going to Hooker and Liberal.  I expect the next thing on the agenda for us both is a little nap!  I think we're getting older (or something!)

Carol, those darn javelinas seem to have a route worked out that includes your yard!  Nasty things!  Are they protected?  Do any of the game people or the cops try to do anything about them?  Seems to me that if they continue to let them go, they will soon multiply to completely unmanageable sized herds, and next will be killing people!  :clobber:

Please do take care of yourselves, dear ones!
