JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Chosen...in Him before the foundation of the world...
Eph. 1:4

Long before the darkness fled:
Long before the sun did shine;
Long before earth raised its head--
Jesus loved this heart of mine.

Long before man walked away:
Long before our sin and shame;
Long before earth's darkest day--
God in Heaven spoke my name.

Long before the Christ was born:
Long before Golgotha's tree;
Long before the crown of thorn--
God's great grace included me.

Long before my sinful will:
Long before my earnest plea;
Long before, He loved me still--
And He planned to die for me.

Long before His face I see:
Long before I reach that shore;
Long before Eternity--
Jesus loved me, yes He loved me--
LONG BEFORE!

WHEN WE ALL GET TO HEAVEN
(Click to hear music)

In my Father's house are many rooms;
I am going there to prepare a place for you.
John 14:2

Words:  Eliza E. Hewitt (1851-1920)
Music: Emily D. Wilson (MIDI, score).

Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,
Sing His mercy and His grace.
In the mansions bright and blessed
He'll prepare for us a place.

Refrain
When we all get to Heaven,
What a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus,
We'll sing and shout the victory!

While we walk the pilgrim pathway,
Clouds will overspread the sky;
But when traveling days are over,
Not a shadow, not a sigh.

Refrain

Let us then be true and faithful,
Trusting, serving every day;
Just one glimpse of Him in glory
Will the toils of life repay.

Refrain

Onward to the prize before us!
Soon His beauty we'll behold;
Soon the pearly gates will open;
We shall tread the streets of gold.

Refrain

When we all get to heaven.....Pat is with her dear Jack, She missed him to the end of her days. Paul Halbach has passed on,   Larry is there as well, Al Moak and oh so many others!  We can rejoice with and for them!

That is one of Pat's original posts.  Boy is she ever missed.  Last sunday I had my mother's piano delivered, and since then I have spoken to Janice, she is passing things to me out of Pats home.  We have discussed a lot about Pat's wishes and our mother's.

John is driving truck this week, and won't be home till 3 or 4.  So I have the evening alone to do things I have procrastinated on!.

I have a grand baby due December 1st and there is a shower for her tomorrow.  I have made a newborn size sweater, hat and booties!  Added to that is a blanket that will be very warm.

Have a great weekend everyone, this is a long weekend in Canada, Civic Holiday on Monday.

G'nite all and stay safe!

Carol

Judy: Thanks for the song - "get to heaven".

Youngest son and wife are bringing dinner and coming for a visit.  Her mother is in serious treatment in hospital and I want to at least bring some flowers for her mom.  Have not heard of this treatment but she is to have heart zapped in a day or so.

We have to drive to the VA complex tomorrow - on a Sunday morning? - yes, the machines are busy all week.  An X-ray on his hand to see if they will operate on it.  He had surgery on it years ago and they will decide if he needs it again.

Carol

We are driving to the VA today and also two days from now.  Two grandchildren arrive today and will probably be in the house when we return. They will just stay the night - this has become a nice tradition when they plan to spend the evening with us.

Such tragic news this week.  We live not too far from Columbine school so that and the other STEM school is even closer and mentioned so often. No one ever mentions what is missing in our society - the family who prays together and listens to The WORD. Add mental illness to the issue.

Have a blessed day!

Marilyn

Good morning everyone. Today I will be taking Keith to the Dr. for his 6 month checkup. I did get  an email from the Dr yesterday telling me that his  diagnosis is Alzheimer/dementia and Vascular Dementia. I had emailed if he should see a Neurologist for a full diagnosis.

I also need to take freckles to the vet as she is itching agin so I think she is going to eed some allergy testing.

Marilyn:  Sorry for the diagnosis.  Prayers!

Where is Janet?

Keith's hernia has come back and he will have to see the surgeon again. He refuses to have another hernia surgery so we are hoping to get a hernia belt for him to wear. He also has to see and ENT about a lump  next to his left ear that may or may not be just a cyst. It has gotten larger  in the oast year. So Keith needs lots of prayers.

This has been a long day.  I took the Big boy,Zeke and his 2 feline brothers to the vet this morning. then this afternoon I had an appointment to deal with, this evening John is working,5pm to 5 am, he had started mowing the lawns, and I had to finish them.  The animals all did well with their check-ups, that is good news. The cats have some plaque on their rear teeth. Apparently that is common, I was given a bag of special food for the boys to help clean the teeth. Zeke is well and has lost about 10 pounds which is easier on his hips. It was a little hectic with the cat carrier and the big boy, but it is also amazing how much strength you have when you need it!

Our weather has been wonderful.  Hot days cool nights, makes for good sleep. I am heading that way very soon!

Boy is Larry every missed. however just think he is totally healed, and sitting at the Lords feet.

Well time to go, wrap things up for the night.

It was a long day at the VA yesterday.  We were there hours until so late everything was closing.  We stopped for a little snack on the way home.

Judy:  Wish we had a picture of you driving with the three pets.  It sounds so cute.  Do you talk to them - I always talk to the children's pets. We cannot have pets here - we decided the risk of nearby coyotes was too great.  Some people still have pets.  One man was riding his bike and was bitten by a coyote. If deer is near, you have coyotes. If the nearby fire department starts siren, the coyotes join in with their wailing.

I am reading a book about the plane that landed on the Hudson River in New York and survivors tell their tale.  They say - it was a miracle to land on the water and people stepped on the wings being picked up by rescue and ordinary citizens.  Many stories of faith.

For a few days, Don has to have his hand in both hot and cold to reduce the swelling.  Ice cubes - then warm towels.  He managed some sleep last night.

It is my turn to host a little friend's group this month.  At the same time, our son's mother-in-law is in hospital and has been for about two weeks.

Marilyn--here I am!!  I got "lost" again, so I had to navigate my way back
 via the back door again.  I don't know why that happens, but it does!

We went over to Springfield, Colorado last Saturday, because my only brother, Joe, was being honored as the Grand Marshall of the county fair parade.  They made quite a big deal of it:  He was driven in a beautiful white carriage pulled by a really handsome horse, driven by his grandson.  There were other family members inside the carriage, and riding horses beside and behind it, too--Joe and Nick were on the seat in front. Joe has lived in Baca county his entire 84 years, so many, many people know him; and there were a lot of family members there as well.  This included two of his sisters, all three of his surviving kids, grandkids, great and great-great grandkids, nieces, nephews, etc. Quite a crowd!  It was pretty fun!

Marilyn, sorry to hear of Keith's latest problems, hope he improves soon.  I know Alzheimer's (dementia) is very hard on the caregiver.  Praying for strength and patience for you!

Carol, so sorry about your and Don's latest physical trials, too. Too bad the VA is so stinkin' far for you to drive!  :-\   I wish you had some of this wonderful CBD oil to rub into his hand, I think it would make a terrific difference.  A friend of ours had a knuckle joint giving her great pain; rubbed a single drop of the oil into it, and by the morning after, had no pain at all!  I am only taking it for pain--Meaning, that's the ONLY thing I take now.  So thankful to have it because I can no longer take Ibuprofen (hard on kidneys) or Tylenol (hard on liver!)  If you don't know where to get it and want some, I have it and can send you some.  Just sayin'...I'm not trying to sell things on here!

I surely do miss our dear Larry!  Does anyone know how to contact Scott?  I want to send a contribution in Larry's memory, but don't have an address for him, nor for the church.  Any help appreciated!

Talk to you later!

Janet:  Nice to see you return.  I have never heard of Springfield, CO.  Shall look it up.  Yes, we are on overload here with appointments and it takes a full hour to get to the VA plus we add 1/2 hour so travel & some walking total day is 3 hours.  I do not know how some patients make it.  There are rides available (sometimes) from the parking garage but the last few times we have not seen those volunteers.

Glad to see you posting again.  Yes, we have thought about the C - lotion.  He is not in pain now, since I have been fixing batches of hot/cold containers and he puts his hands in one first then the other.  This is what they say works in healing and he really doesn't have the pain now.  Each day will get better.

I met a couple from Wycliffe, Colorado yesterday and they drive far enough to get a hotel room - with a good VA discount thankfully.

Marilyn:  A good friend had a call from her doctor's office and they want her to take a test for Alzheimer's Disease.  She is forgetful but has always been forgetful so there is not much change.

I am trying to free-up the kitchen sink disposal. They were made differently years ago and a little key would open the bottom.  Time to call one of the boys - actually, our daughter can do anything they do - she was very competitive having 3 brothers.   :)

For myself, I will miss his emails and his cyber friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Pat, son Scott and the rest of his family. Ell

If you want to post this email, I would appreciate it."

Many are having problems logging in.  Not sure why. Jackie perhaps give her the URL again.

Well this summer has sure going to end with a bang!  We have plans for the last weekend, to visit a family member for her birthday, and the Labour Day weekend we have a family get together, for a BBQ and day of games!  Then Tuesday back to school and the old grind. John is driving again this year!

Well that is all for this evening!  Have a good night!

Janet

We made another trip to Garden City today to pick up a chair (recliner) we bought yesterday. It wouldn't fit in the car!

Nobody said whether or not you know how I can contact Scott, Larry's son.  Do you?

I'm having iPhone problems.  Grrrr!  So frustrating!!

Carol, Springfield Colorado is a very small town in the SE corner of the state.  I grew up near Campo, the only town farther down in that corner.  In fact, my Dad's land adjoined the Oklahoma state line!  Both little towns, along with the others in Baca county are having trouble surviving.  Sad to see so many empty business buildings on Main Street in the small towns.

We had a wonderful two inch rain last night.  The only drawback was that it was very noisy, and we didn't sleep much, but that's a temporary problem.

I hope everyone is well!

Well the lymph node  ultra sound showed that there is nothing wrong with it. Now I have a bone spur on my left heel that is is causing terrible pain to walk. The  Podiatrist put  some shots of anti inflammatory into the heel but it hasn't stopped hurting yet. I go back in 3 weeks. Boy oh Boy isn't getting old so much fun. LOL

Just a laugh a minute!  (NOT!)

Darrel and I both had more blood work done a few days ago.  I'm hopeful she will find answers for me as to why I'm suddenly feeling so very fatigued.  Ugh.

Carol, wishing you the best!  What did they do to your throat?

Good evening everyone.  Today was a long day, with a wake up call at 6AM and visit from the caller.  I am NOT a morning person, and today I have been dragging.

Tomorrow we have a full schedule of appointments.  We have been re-shingling a roof. Had to take about 4 layers of old shingles off first.  Today is day 2 of the job. Almost done, we will finish after all tomorrow's appointments.

Marilyn my father in law said "growing old hurts".  Boy was he ever right.  I have a knot in a muscle in my back.  Two weeks later it is just as sore as when it started.  I have just become accustomed to the pain, and tylenol helps.

Zeke, (the rottie) as become an escape ninja. He has chewed the fencing of his kennel enough to make a hole to crawl out of. We use it to keep him safe, from his own craziness.  After nearly loosing him in June we have to take these precautions.

Many of you know Max Alderman, he is in Scotland working with a pastor of a new church. He welcomes your prayer!

Well it is late, I am heading to bed hopefully to get a full nights sleep!

Night all

Carol

We dodged another storm here - we are close enough to the mountains so often the hail storms pass right over us.   Well, we did have two new roofs in three years a while back.

Marilyn:  I have heard bone spurs are painful.  I hope you can get in for help soon - can you take any anti-inflammatory meds?  Ibuprofen?  Take care.

Janet:  I hope you can have the big chair delivered.  The bandage (huge * puffy with lots of cotton) is supposed to stay tight for 4 to 5 days.  Doc cut a horizontal line over 2 inches, close to 3 inches with.  I was/am shocked.  Thankful for no cancer - everyone came in to smile and tell me the news.  I see him September 3rd and it cannot come fast enough.  Now I can make up a War Story if anyone asks.   :D

Jackie:  Thank you.  "Everything will be alright".  Said my mom so many times.  I have a well-known top doctor and they do things like this daily.

Judy:  Prayers for safety as you two tackle the roof.  I hope Zeke will calm - he is probably nervous about being penned up and you can't let him loose.  Our daughter & SIL used to keep a radio going at night for her dogs.

For anyone with hand pain, Don uses hot/cold water twice daily for pain in hands.  Dip hands 3 minutes in warm/hot water 3 minutes, then in really cold water for 2 minutes - do this five times in a row.  Repeat for a 2nd time at the end of the day.  That is the "prescription" from Physical Therapy.  It seems to be help - he had a bit of surgery.

Janet

Carol--thanking the Lord for your good report!  I sometimes forget to check the Shoutbox!

I've been having BIG problems with my iPhone.  Sometimes I long for the good old days without all these technology headaches!   :(

Our doctor has prescribed more Potassium and some thyroid pills for me.  Trying to see why I'm so tired.  Ugh.

Judy, I am a morning person, and feel really good in the morning, for about two hours, then Whoosh! All my energy is gone!  Not fun.  Hope you find relief for the pain in your back!

Marilyn

The podiatrist put  some shots of anti inflammatory right into the heel of my foot. OUCH!! I go back in 3 weeks but I may be calling a lot sooner than that because it really  really really hurts.

Marilyn..
..I remember well the day i had my bunion removed from my right foot, it was being used as a pin cushion...they just kept injecting the numb stuff all over the foot, injecting into the heel part was the worst pain, and yes it took a lengthy time before it became numb, i felt each and every needle going in..Even on the operating table i felt a pulling of skin sensation as they started, so they injected a bit more, which this time i never felt....

Greetings Everyone  I thought I would not get back on the site, but hubby bless him, instructed me to lok through his memory stick and look for saved passwords and there it was.   We were saddened to read of the passing of Dear, Dear Larry.  We emailed most days and I miss his cyber friendship.  He was a splendid man, what  we call in the UK, a Gentleman.  We will miss Dear Larry.  Ell

Marilyn

Yes we all miss Dear Larry Ellie. I have been cyber friends with Larry for 20 years.

Jackie, Oh my  the shots in the foot are the worst thing in the world to endure. I gripped the arms of that chair with all my might and just kept talking to the doctor, I think I was chattering on about anything I could think of just to distract myself and I will be having more shots on the 4th of next month. The foot is still very [ainful the shots didn't do anything for me.

I am having the worst time with my new Hospice patient, she starts sentences with " I don't know how re4ligious you are" then continues with demeaning thing about Christians. the latest was that  2 men came to visit her and wanted to say a prayer before they left, she said to them " You can take that prayer and stick it up your ***. I just looked at her and I probablu should have said something. I was so dumbfounded I was speechless.

Yes, Larry was a wonderful friend to many of us for many years.  He is truly missed.

We are having terrible problems with internet, TV, phones, iPads--all things cyber-related.   >:(  It is so frustrating.  This is the first time we've had service in two days!

Marilyn, so sad your Hospice patient is facing eternity soon, and still with a God-defiant attitude.  I hope someone can get through that attitude with the truth of the Word.  She's going to live forever--either in heaven or in hell--her choice!

I'm reading a wonderful book about this very subject by Dr. Chauncey Crandall.  The title is Touching Heaven.

I hope that foot stops hurting, Marilyn.  I just can't imagine the pain of those injections into your heel!  Yikes!!

I'm going to a pendant class at the Main Artery in just a little bit. Wishing you all blessings and a joyous day!

"I'm reading a wonderful book about this very subject by Dr. Chauncey Crandall. The title is Touching Heaven."

...just ordered, it will be here in 4 days, just the book i am needing since i lost my Richard, I am counting on it to explain why he was taken from me, and where he is now...I am needing answers..I believe in the afterlife, Richard never..his belief was..." once you are dead, you are dead.." Not long before his time was up, I had humorously said to him ( of course not expecting him to soon be losing his life, ) " if you go before me, you can tell me if i was right or if i was wrong.."
...well yes, wherever he is, he is now there..
