Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

From Chris Saunders

"Receive with meekness the engrafted Word which is able to save your souls.
But be doers of the word, if you are only a hearer then you are deceiving yourselves." James 1.
Live in the word of God, the Bible is your best friend, it will teach you how to live right and if you live right you will die right.. Dying to self while living right is the most important thing.
A person who sits in the congregation and hears the word, and agrees with it all, but then goes away and doesn't let that precious word change him. Who never gives to the poor, who is neither generous
with his time nor his money or possessions is a miser in more ways than one.
He is not living right.
We are called to live right in a wrong world. A generous man is a happy man, always giving and not counting the cost, for he knows that he is giving to his Lord through others, and is happy to do so.
God bless you this day and show you where to give.

It is a perfect day for baking - chocolate cupcakes and a small chocolate cake.  Next week our daughter and family plan to visit us in the yard appropriately 6 plus feet apart.  We have taken the rules seriously and yet see too many easing their space requirements.  I hope everyone is safe.

We have been using the computer for chats with family and friends.  It will be so nice to be able to hug again.

Judy:  Curious about your church & others nearby.  Are they closed?  There are so many losing jobs here so this is a trying time for sure.  Thank you for your work on this site and all of your messages of trust.

From Chris Saunders

"Pure religion, undefiled, before God and the Father is this. To visit the fatherless and widows, in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." James 1.

You can go to "Church" at every opportunity, study your Bible every day, pray and praise. But if good works don't come from your salvation, your religion isn't worth much in God's eyes!
We know that we are not saved by good works.. But we are saved to Do good works, Lord make us generous givers, giving from a cheerful, good heart, and Lord keep us from becoming worldly, especially while we cannot fellowship at this time, You are God, You do not change, You are always with us wherever we are, church is no more Your dwelling place than our own room. For You live in us and seek to work through us, may this day be a Holy time, and also a day to do good works. Amen.

Carol Yes all the churches are closed.  Our pastor sends out words of encouragement on a daily basis.  On Sunday he and others broadcast a message on FaceBook or on YouTube.  It is wonderful to be able to connect like that.  We are not getting together with anyone who is not tested.  Doug our trucker son lives with us, when he gets home he keeps his distance.  Heather and Jon (daughter and SIL) have been tested, and are safe as they stay isolated as well.  Other family we steer clear of. I am looking forward to this ending. I am missing my grands! Most people are following orders.  Our premier Doug Ford is looking at very slowly relaxing orders.  He wants to get businesses reopened. Justin Trudeau is a dictator. (He has effectively taken all weapons away from us.) He has said this won't be over till there is a vaccine. The minister of health has said that there will be enforced vaccinations. With all that is on the news about the vaccination there are a lot of people refusing to be vaccinated.  That will be a matter of wait and see.
There seems to be a rebellion of many non christians against the One World Order.  That is great however we as Christians know the end result.  WE have read the last chapter in The Book!

How sweet it is to listen to music posted by Judy while reading a couple of notes.

I slept so poorly last night that I had to stagger back to bed and just woke from two hours of deep sleep.  Not one of the children or friends have entered this lonely house for it seems like forever.  Don is high risk.  On Mother's Day, our daughter and family will visit from the lawn - hopefully there will not be rain.  Last night, we had a tremendous electric lightning show that went on for more than a few hours.

Judy:  I agree with you on going slowly on reentering our regular patterns of living.  Even scientists don't agree on when we can live openly again.  It feels like trying to walk across a freeway and you can't see the cars coming but you can hear the danger.  Praying for common sense guidance for everyone!

Now to load and listen to the 2nd song - many many thanks.

I love this song. I 've done it as a solo at church a couple of times.

Greetings Everyone    Apart from standing outside my front door, I have not been out of the development area I live on, since last Thursday.  We have to be guided by the scientists and clinicians when the easing of restrictions takes place.  Businesses can only open when it is safe to do so.  We must never put wealth before health especially during this Coronavirus pandemic.    Ellie

Carol

Giving thanks for my bowl of cereal this morning.  There are tons of people in this state out of work for various reasons.  The city of Denver (we are in a south suburb) is planing to take a very large area and set up tents & Water, toilets etc. for people.  It looks like a disaster idea to me - putting families all together because there are so many drug addicts here too. Our medical and police are working exhausting hours.  Praying for all these people.

Our children plan to visit on Sunday - sitting outdoors on the grass and I have been concerned about that plan.  They insist.

Ellie:  We have been reading about the UK and problems with over-crowding on the tube  - it is sad to see all the airplanes stacked in rows not going anywhere.  What is sad is churches cannot open.

Here, we are seeing new birds arrive with the change in our living habits.  We also see impatient drivers roaring down this short street just because they are so frustrated.

Thankful for so many things - Don plays Cribbage on the internet with one grandson once a week.  That is so nice - free too.  Thank you, Judy, for the music you put online for us.  Prayers for you and John - for your safety and living.  We use ZOOM (free) once a week for a family meeting.  I am so grateful for that technology.  Zoom shows each of us chatting and highlights the person speaking.  You need internet for that - I like it because we can see how everyone is doing through this time.

Greetings Carol   I do not live anymore in London and in normal times the Tube is at all times very busy.  I imagine the article about the tube is a Daily Telegraph news item.   And news items do not usually paint what the true picture is.  The tube system is down greatly in numbers of passengers and trains.  What trains there are running, are for key workers and those who cannot work from home.   There was another news item I watched concerning a crowded aircraft, which needs to be looked into.  What we have heard is,  flights in future might have to have the middle seat of three left vacant to help stop the spread of  Coronavirus. If that happens, can airlines make a profit.   The aircrafts must remain stacked until the scientists and clinicians say flying is a safe environment to travel in until Coronavirus is no longer a threat.   It is sad Churches cannot open, but gatherings of people are not allowed presently, and we have to be guided where is a safe environment for people to congregate in.   Ellie

I agree about the closures of our churches, i am sure our God would want them to stay open for anyone who feels the need to go inside to pray for whatever..just not seems right that the powers that be can order a church door to close to the public during our pandemic, if ever there is a more precious time for stepping inside a church for praying, it is now.....

Greetings Jackie   The powers that be, issue guidelines for our well being.  And where people gather in numbers of more than five,  it makes it difficult to social distance between persons.  And some of our churches are small in size.   That is why shops, cafes and restaurants are closed in the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man, to minimise contact.  All the churches on the Island are closed, as they will be in the UK.   Agreed it would be splendid to go into our local church and pray, but sadly we are not allowed access to our church or chapels.   I pray whenever I am, be it home or out for a walk.   Ellie

I went out today, Needed groceries, and wanted to see Elizabeth.  She has had a hard time with the isolation. I went in and had a wonderful visit with her. Little Ivy was such a joy to be with as well. It is hard to believe she is 8 soon.  Such a sweetheart.

It was good to get to the store to do some shopping alone, I am hypoglycemic, so I rarely go shopping without someone with me.

Today May 7th we had snow!!! Can you believe that!

Have a great day folks!
