Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

"And be not conformed to this world : But be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God."
Rom. 12.

Why would anyone want to be conformed to this world?
Drunkenness, drugged up empty heads, gas sniffing troublemaking fools all around, litter everywhere, abortions on demand, low sentences for murder, rape, assault, fraud and embezzlement often in government and in all types of business. Showbiz people spouting off as if they were leaders with qualifications, and thinking that we should heed them!
Good grief I could go on.
Be not conformed.. Why would you desire to be!
Stay close to God, seek the company of comparatively decent people, make sure that your heart and conscience is right with your Lord and Saviour.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus.. Keep them there.
God bless you, you have many "reasons to be cheerful ".

This week has been very busy, we have canned Zucchini relish, bread and butter pickles, and dills.  We have 2 bushels of fruit to can/jam, as well as currently on the stove is apple butter cooking!

Heather has a wedding dress to enlarge by 10 inches.... we just got it on Tuesday.  The wedding is tomorrow, I was scratching my head, how the best way to tackle this project.  We have it under control!

John is helping with the canning, I am so blessed to have such a wonderful guy as my husband.

I'm off and running! See y'all later!

Carol

My post disappeared.

Winter arrives next week - with a snow vengeance they predict.  Tons on people are still on our streets - some very decent people and there are the habitual offenders as well.

Through  the internet, we watched a live hockey game from Slovakia where a grandson is visiting & he was playing too.   He knows the language because a young man from there lived in our daughter's house for more than a year and other hockey players came to visit here as well.

Judy:  I love dill pickles.   And, you made Apple Butter too...yum.  Good to hear you have the idea for changing the wedding dress size!  That was a shocking amount of short time for you - kudos for your effort.  Does Heather have a lot of requests for such a project?

We still carry on here - so disappointing that Don cannot get to "see" his doctor but I believe they may have a phone chat one of these days.  He is a tad bit better on the pain for whatever is the diagnosis.  Two of our sons came to visit yesterday and that is always a cheery time.

Janet

Hello!  It feels like a long time since I was here!  The days seem so strange--dragging, yet zipping by!  For sure, we have never lived in such a time as this.  I truly believe the Rapture could be any day now, and I am longing for that!  Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!

I had breakfast with my dearest friend Dee this morning, to celebrate her 77th birthday.  She's such a treasure, a wonderful gift of God in my life.

Judy, you surely do keep busy!  You remind me of myself a few years ago.  I'm not working much now, seems there is nothing to be done that I need to do.  I'd rather be busy, so this slow time will probably pass.

Carol, I finally remembered your last name--then I found a little note I had jotted it down on... :-[   Senior moments (and days!)  I do hope your hubby gets in to see the doctor soon.  It should not be this way, especially for those who have served our country!

Jackie, hope they soon have an opening on the ground floor for you.  Would be so much easier!

God's richest blessings on each of you, my friends!

Another quiet weekend here. Watching the news, there is a solid line of traffic going west to our nearby mountains.  Many - too many from other states driving out here to find a place to stay in the beautiful mountains.  This is really gridlock.  Being a long weekend with Labor Day holiday, we just expect more and more damage from riots.

Janet:  So spot on - dragging yet zipping days.  My mother always said friends are like gold.  I agree.

Prayers for ceasing of the fires to our west -

Some relief as there has been some snow - after high temperatures and dry & hot winds, we see snow from last night and more is coming right now.  A whiplash of temperatures.

Don is patiently waiting for his doctor to call.

Judy:  /very nice songs of praise again.....thanks for all you and Chris do for us.

Carol

Judy: Those are astounding high figures for lost children.  How wicked some people.

All is well here after a scare last night.  Don slipped on ice when he went to unplug the hose in front yard.  Here is a miracle --- a young man was walking his dog and saw Don fall - so he helped him to our front door.  Very very thankful. - Don is exhausted from the ordeal and needs extra quiet time.

It is a beautiful winter scene outside with heavy snow on the evergreen trees.  After the day of almost 100 F, it is quite a change.

Carol

Where is everyone?

The storm did come and dumped a beautiful but treacherous heavy snowfall that lasted more than a day.  It did stop some of the protestors in the city - thank heaven.  Not for long.  A lot of them do not even know what they are protesting.  Temp was 93 F. one day and below freezing and storming the next.

A good friend of many years is having memory problems.  I feel sad this is happening to her.  Her husband worked at the same businesses as mine for many years and traveled a bunch so we had a lot in common.  She does have a daughter looking after her & they will be living in the same house so that will be safe for Pat.

Re-reading "Jesus Always" by Sarah Young. Now to turn on your music.  Take care all.

Carol

This is the third day Don has been in hospital.  Our daughter is here - thankful she can work on her computer.  We were able to visit him yesterday.  He had another procedure today and we are waiting to hear if he needs one more procedure.  He was so happy to see us and we all were so grateful.  I brought extra clothes we do not know how long they will keep him.  The fault of his condition is he was prescribed two medications that are not compatible. Serious mistake.  We are so thankful that it was discovered and that is what causes internal bleeding.  Now to have him cured.

Here, my washing machine croaked!  Water all over the floor.  Now to find someone to take this out and replace.  Also, I have to have a handyman with a long ladder who will go inside our attic and secure the venting spot where the racoon tore out.  I bought the heavy duty screen yesterday.  Just very thankful that these little things can be fixed and super thankful for the overworked medical staff.

Otherwise, the sun is shining and sometimes the sky to the west looks blue.  Praying for so many people who have lost jobs, homes and even family and friends between the virus and the fires.

JudyB

Carol I'm sorry to hear about Don, I am praying for renewed health.

The fires in the west USA are terrible. The liberals are saying global warming, however there has been a video of a fire throwing drone and some people charged for arson, which is in itself is evil. Such an evil world we live in. The Chinese and middle eastern persecution of Christians has escalated.  Revelation 6:9-11. When the fifth seal is opened John sees all the souls of those had been slain for the word of God gathered under the altar of God calling out for vengeance. Reminds me of this verse.

Revelation 6:9-11. When the fifth seal is opened John sees all the souls of those had been slain for the word of God gathered under the altar of God calling out for vengeance.

Even so come quickly LORD Jesus! We must be waiting for the trumpet. It will be amazing that the LORD's trumpet will be heard by everyone all at the same time.

There are people who claim to hear the trumpet, in separate areas of the world, however that is the enemy's way to try to copy God's truth.  We must not be deceived.

Have a great day everyone and God Bless.

How sweet it is to see Judy's post - many thanks.  We are waiting to see if Don can be released today.  I can tell you that just posting my concerns here gave me relief even before Judy (thank you so much) replied.  All of you have gone through unknown outlook times - it isn't the easiest time in our lives.

Still cannot find my hearing aids - I think they came off one of the times I took off mask.  Who knows.  If I didn't have The Word, I would be so upset - fortunate to have Grace - oh, and I cannot get a washing machine that fits until the end of October.  So, now to find a laundromat until that is ticked off on the To Do tablet.

Our daughter is here cheering me on and she is working online - how fantastic is that?

Take care all - am so upbeat this morning because we think Don can come home today.  He misses everyone so much - we have been there to visit when he is able to visit.  I brought his electronic book so he can send emails.  Looking better today.

Stay safe everyone.  Here, there are too many lunatics driving too fast & whipping in and out - how childish they are as if that makes the virus go away.

Carol

My guy is home.  He had a serious time with having lost a lot of blood and transfusions from three people. At one point, he was surrounded by a large medical staff.  The staff is overworked and just such a wonderful team of medics.  Prayers answered in a wonderful way.  Ahead is going to be a slow recovery and what he missed most was being with family and friends.  Our daughter left for her home this afternoon and we are so grateful for family. Thanks for "listening" and all your prayers.

So good to hear Carol.

I have heard there are members who cannot get on to CP. I don't have any hard and fast answers.  I am on a new computer and had to change my password.  Pat was the only one who could get in to and see the passwords.  She didn't pass this on to anyone, however Michael may know.  I have tried in the past to contact him and haven't received a response.
So if you can't get in I suggest you re sign in, and use your sign in name and change your password.

Have a great day everyone.

Blue is the color of my new recycle bin.  The old one just collapsed.  Also, so happy about having the vent in the attic repaired by a young man with a tall ladder.  The vent had been damaged by the cute racoon that was relocated.  All of this was the highlight of conversation in my neighborhood - I guess one little group had to have something to talk about.
Don is recovering and can walk the length of the house  without a walker - he did this twice yesterday.

I called a cousin in Seattle and her husband has cancer - he beat cancer many years ago so praying he can do this again.

Oldiesmann:  I have no problems with the update - many thanks!

I am going to put on the Paul McClure music now.

I feel sorry for Marilyn, She still can't get on here, and I don't know enough to be able to help!

Never thought of it this way...

YOU ARE LOVED...

YELLOW - You are loved and made in the image of God, He created you with a divine plan a special purpose and destiny. Yellow is for sunlight, you are light...

BLACK - God loves you, but sin separates you from God, preventing the full measure of His love towards you. BLACK is for light, which has a shade over it...

SCARLET - The good news! God sent His son Jesus to save you from your sins. He paid the price at the cross. Though your sins are like SCARLET, they shall be as white as snow...

WHITE - Jesus rose from the dead and has paid for your sins. He makes you whiter than snow, cleans you and makes you a bright light. WHITE is for holiness...

GREEN - By deciding to completely turn away from your old life and follow Jesus. Your life is now brand new. GREEN is for a new life and a fresh start...

BLUE - Means heaven bound. Your eternal destination has now changed. By following Jesus and obeying His words you are granted everlasting life with Him...

Judy:  I sure do remember Pat and am so glad she spent one night here with Paul.  We had a wonderful visit>  \

Don is still recuperating day by day is a bit better.  He just sorted medicine and is that a monthly task we never expected.  We really miss being outdoors because of the smoke in the air and super dry conditions.  I have an old treadmill and a stationary bike in the basement and force a  daily duty.  Hopeful housekeeping is counting exercise too - it should be counted.

We have an old friend in Minnesota who is having serious memory problems and I hope her daughter can set up a Zoom account so we can "see" each other.  Once all these medical appointments are over, I hope to get to the bible study - it may be over the internet - this is the mega church two of my friends attend.  There are no indoor meetings now - all on closed video.

One son and one granddaughter came for a visit plus our son went around the house and fixed things for us.  Such a sweet thing and she brought her boyfriends dog who loves everyone.  Great afternoon.  Another son picked up my laundry (the washer is kaput) and he even dried and folded two big piles of sheets and clothing.  I told him my dryer is working.  Counting the days until that washer arrives -

Just checking out the video now.

Jackie:  Good day to you.  I hope everything is going well for everyone here.

Here, we are over the top with medical appointments for Don - some online and others are out to the Veteran's hospital.  Life is still good in so many ways and we are thankful for his medical care.

We cannot sit outdoors because the air is so polluted from fires - so we are fortunate to have an old walking machine in the basement and a stationary bike to keep those knees going. Hoping for an early snow but rain would be great as well to clear the air.

Time to think of another meal soon.  Take care everyone.

Carol...
...wishing the same back to you...
We so take our fresh air for granted, dont we, thanks to our trees,
( they absorb carbon dioxide, and in turn, give off oxygen, ) which many have been around far longer than we have...Our birds are also needing our trees, we need our birds, our bird songs...if only to remind us there is still life out there,,

An Indian lady neighbour friend handed me a pocket size book of just 70 plus pages called " Living Water The Gospel of John " which i was reading in bed last night before it sent me to sleep after reaching page 20...

With everything bad - frightening that is going on around our world, we need every bit of comfort we can get...

Where is Janet...
