Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Oh, how I wish we were getting snow ! Or rain!  The people here in a three or four state area would be rejoicing!!

Larry, we need to do some traveling in the U.S. including a trip to see you and Pat!
Thank you for the gracious invitation!

I had a really nice day painting yesterday; now I want to finish the picture I started.
It's a hummingbird and a flower.  I was just getting "into the zone" when it was time to come home.  But what a joy it was to be painting again!  I plan to make that a regular part of my weeks.   :)

I went to get my teeth cleaned this morning, the to UW General meeting.  Now I will go to the library for a while, and that will be my day.  I'm getting back to "early to bed and early to rise."  I really do not like missing my early morning meetings with Jesus!  That's the very best part of my day, and I so need His help.

Missing my Beth so acutely today.   :(

Janet...
...not if you were living where we are you wouldn't be wishing for snow...Ok I too was looking forward to seeing snow but, we are off the beaten track, down in the valleys, a steep slope leading to our top of home, then slope from our home to the bottom homes...Our snow has now turned to dangerous frozen ice...I opened our Kitchen door early this morning to let our eager to go Toby out, to do his morning wee, he first slid on the outside door mat, which then made him slide losing his balance onto the iced up decking, just watching his four pours sliding about and hopping on three legs was enough and then watching him sliding as he tried to get up our decking steps onto the snowed up garden...to say he was hopping and sliding at the same time to lift a leg to do his wee, was an understatement...needless to say no sooner was that done he was heading to come back indoors...I can see the dangerous sloped corner of our outside road is looking rather like an ice rink...I very much doubt we get any post or delivery vans today, far to risky...

...Perhaps this link give you an Idea as to how cut off we are....if you look for the v shape of distant sea, far to your right, we are somewhere down there...or if you follow down the lane from that brown beach cafe sign, will take you near to the start point of our long private road to the right...and if you carry on further up you will eventually come to the clifftop car park overlooking the sea, quite a spectacular view...

Hi Everyone.  We awoke this morning to a beautiful sunny sky and it will be that way all day and will get into the mid-60's.  I have nothing on my schedule for today so will just have a nice quiet and restful day.  I did go to coffee yesterday and then last evening we did go to Ruby Tuesday's to take advantage of the buy one get one coupon we had.  We had another very good meal.  It has been very windy and rainy all afternoon and was still raining when we left but by the time to got to the restaurant the rain had stopped and the wind died down.

Jackie, hope you are enjoying the beauty of the snow and don't have to get out until it melts.  Parts of the USA are having a lot of bad weather today with a lot of snow in the West and bad storms in the Northeast.  I just had a notification that already over 400,000 people are without power in the NE and that the Federal Government offices are closed today in Washington, DC.

Janet

Those that need moisture get none; those who have too much get more!  At least, that is how it seems.  My weather service is warning of extreme fire danger day after day.  :(

I drove out to the cemetery to see if the foundation had been laid for Beth's stone--no, not yet.  They said the stone would be set next week, so that's why I wondered.

Windy here again today, and fairly warm.

I think Darrel helped me solve my dilemma of how to begin the first chapter of the book, God bless him!  I'm thinking about it all the time, will start writing soon.I can always make corrections, additions, or deletions as I go.  That's the beauty of writing on computer flash drive!

One of the gals I paint with at the Main Artery is having a show this evening, so I plan to go to that.  Should be fun!  But I have the afternoon to get other stuff donee, of which I have plenty!!

I wrote Pat an email, but no response yet.  I hope she is up to answering it.
Still praying for the dear lady.

...they called our UK weathers " The Beast from the East...and to add to it we had " Storm Emma..." supposedly causing UK's worth weather in years...it has claimed 13 lives as of yesterday...One was a little girl playing outside her home, who was killed by a sliding on snow out of control car...

Hi Everyone.  Our morning started out in the mid-40's and it is bright and sunny with no wind and headed into the mid-60's this afternoon. I stayed home all day yesterday and will likely do the same today.  I got the dishwasher emptied and the trash out and am just waiting for Pat to get up when I will probably fix her breakfast.  Yesterday afternoon Pat did some cooking and we had chicken from the Instant Pot, friend potatoes and onions and broccoli along with apple pie.  Fortunately there is enough left over to make us a good supper this evening as well.  I plan on watching some basketball and golf this afternoon.  In a little while I am going to order the rest of the pull-out shelves that we need for our lower kitchen cabinets and one for Pat's side of the bathroom sink.

Janet, I have read that getting started on a book is usually the hardest part.  Glad Darrel had a good suggestion for you.  I hope you enjoyed the art show last evening.

Jackie, how sad and what a tragic accident with the car skidding and killing the little child.  I hope that storm is over for you and the snow will soon melt.

Janet

There is no lack of severe weather, on this or the other side of the pond!  I heard on the news yesterday that several people were killed by falling trees, and even heavy branches in a big storm here stateside.  This old world is being shaken!

Larry, it sounds as if the daily chores are becoming more difficult for both you and Pat.  I'm glad you take care of yourselves and know your limits.  I think this last big trip was really hard on Darrel.  He hasn't moved far from his recliner since we got home!  He did go to the grocery store yesterday, though.  I've been really busy,
but only doing the things I find value or pleasure in doing.

I'm going to do a little silk painting today; haven't touched that in years!  It will be a fun little project!  When I get the watercolor done I started Wednesday, I will post pictures of it and the silk thing on FB, if you care to see them.

It's not cold here, but still windy, with extreme fire danger warnings.  Yesterday there was a grass fire, and they barely managed to save a home, but lost all the out buildings.

I'm getting started on the book!!  Prayers appreciated; I want it to glorify God and honor Beth's life.  Thanks!

Marilyn

hello everyone from the left coast where it has been raining for several days. There was a bit of snow yesterday that didn't stick and was gone by the time I got the car out of the garage to go to the gym.

I got my hair cut today and will try to get a selfie to post here. It is very short compared to the way I used to wear it. I am letting my gray  grow out and will no longer col.or my hair, so I will keep it short until it gets all grown out. My hair grows pretty fast so it should only take   about a year or  one and a half years.
