JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Let the year be given to God in its every moment!.
G. Campbell Morgan

From Chris Saunders

"Simon Peter, a servant and an Apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained such precious faith with us, through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ" 2 Peter 1:1

If Peter had began by saying.. An Apostle.. We would not have noticed, and at one time I imagine he would have, but a lot had happened to the old immature Peter, time and events had changed him just as it has changed us,
He had denied his Saviour, he had seen Jesus die a dreadful death, he had heard that his master had been resurrected, he had ran to the tomb, looked inside, and went away wondering, then he had more encounters with the truly risen Christ, the last one, being the most changing one.. Peter do you love Me? Three times the question came, three times he answered till there was no doubt left, he was forgiven, and was to get ready for Pentecost.
So now He begins.." Peter a Servant of Jesus Christ."
In the year that lies ahead if God spares us, let's put servant hood first, let us, like Peter not put ourselves first, but let us be Ambassadors for Christ, there is no greater calling for a child of God.
Peter ends this verse with a gospel message.. Saying
that we have obtained our
precious faith.. By the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ,
It is indeed by grace that we are saved, so let us be gracious to those who do not yet know Him.

For those of you who have asked: I called Janet's daughter today.  She is fine, and so is Darrel.  She is having computer problems, so that is why we haven't heard from her.  I pray all continues to be well with her!

:) Hello everyone!  Nice to know I have been missed!  Darrel and I are both fine now, after a season of having Covid, losing ones dear to us (friends, not relatives) and spending much more time at home than we ever have before.  Please forgive my long absence.

Judy, how in the world did you know how to get in touch with my sweet daughter Diane?  When she called me after speaking to you, I was shocked, and am still puzzled.  Thank you for caring so much you would take the time to do that.  Now that I am back, I will try harder to stay in touch.

My computer problems can usually be chalked up to "operator error."

Janet remember Pat had us put our info into the Mods page?  I went there and sent you a text message on the number you have listed.. Waited for you to get it, when I didn't hear back I decided to call your daughter!  She seemed puzzled but willing to pass my message on. Everyone here was concerned!

About computer problems, I miss Larry.  He seemed to know very quickly where the problem was and how to fix it!

We in Ontario Canada are again shut down, due to the omicron variant. schools closed, little inside dining or even visiting family.  It took our leader all of 30 seconds to make the decision.... Several people that are in my friends list who are the sickest, are the ones who have had the vaxx, double jab.

Thankfully John and our families are well, I'm sure we will stay well. We avoid big area meetings.  Our pastor has been hyper vigilant.  He keeps chairs for those who come to church, well separated. I have thanked him many times that he is following the government mandates.  We have a lady well known in the area who will be 100 in a few days!

That is all folks!

"Saying..where is the promise of His coming...."
"But Beloved be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord like a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."
"He is long-suffering towards us , not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2Peter 3.
Oh the patience of our loving God, no one has patience like our God, He sees everything, hears everything, knows everything, and yet people think that they are doing things in secret, others think that they can hurt and harm others, and get away with it, because God either does not exist or doesn't care enough to do anything.
This can be a problem for believers too by the way, ..why doesn't God intervene?
I don't have the answer to that, but all I know is..when God does intervene then lives are changed, souls are saved, hearts are cleansed , New Life appears in deadbeats,
I only wish it happened more often, I myself can vouch for the New Birth and to being sealed by the Spirit for Eternity, and I am so very glad that He captured me and made me His own, if only we could get through to people that God desires that they repent of their sins and receive a new start, but they are happy as they are and heading toward the great big pit. Unfortunately only a comparative few shall be saved according to our Lord.
We all have family and friends that we have prayed for for years, and their hearts are just as hard now as ever .personally I don't pray as much for them as I used to, God knows all about them, and He knows if He is going to save them or not, they are adults and are responsible for their future life. He has given far more time than they need

Paul.
"As in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in Which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures unto their own destruction."2 Peter 3.

To truly understand scripture which was written under the inspiration of God the Holy Spirit, you must be indwelt by that same Holy Spirit, that is why we are living in unprecedented times, today there are  more churches than there ever were, one for everybody, if you don't like what one is teaching then just move until you find the one that suits you. But scripture is being twisted more and more, ..name it and claim it.. "churches" abound and are thriving, all sorts of cults and isms are deceiving people. So my friends be filled with the Spirit, as God commands, Paul's letters are deep in places, that's why he talks about milk versus strong meat , but all the scriptures are for all the Christians, we have no excuse in saying some parts of the Bible are difficult to understand, ask God to open them to you, read other people's take on them, weigh them up, don't give up, the secret things belong to God but what He reveals belongs to us.

Carol, I'm so glad you, your son and the firemen were there to rescue your dear Don!  How scary!

Marilyn--Good to see your face again--it's been a long time!

My Darrel is feeling really bad tonight.  Don't know what's wrong, but praying it passes quickly.  We have both had Covid already.

My best friend passed away Dec. 8th from Covid, and I am missing her so much!!  As Dolly and Kenny sang, "You can't make old friends."  So true.
Dee and I had been friends for over 40 years.

I pray you are all doing well, and pray God's blessings and protection over each of you.
With love, Janet

Thank you, Judy, for your January thoughts. I appreciated them! Hope everyone's enjoying their new year. Our family came down with covid 2 days after Christmas. I got hit the hardest - exhaustion and body pain, but we're all almost back to 100% again. Looking forward to making friends and getting to know people here in the coming year!
Sincerely,

Jenny!!  Welcome, welcome, welcome!  So good to have you join us!

My husband has Covid for the second time; so discouraging.  We both had it in November.

And the horrible wind is blowing about 65 MPH today.  My most UNfavorite weather.  But God's in His heaven and for that I am grateful.

Janet did you and Darrell get your vaccine?  Both Keith and I got 2 Moderna shot before we left Oregon. and the Phizer booster here in California. Did you know that I moved back to ca to be closer to my family? It is so good to see you are back. I sure missed you.I wrote you and didn't get any answer. How are your eyes doing. Mine are  getting to the point that it affects my handwriting to write checks. I can't see the lighter fonts on the computer either. I have magnifying glasses laying all over the house and Gilbert bought me a lighted on for Christmas.

Keith is getting more and more confused, he wanders around the house at night so I lock my bedroom door to keep him out and from turning on the light. It pains me to have to lock to door at my age but it is better than getting very angry with him and saying not so nice things. I am not a nice person when startled awake in the middle of the night.

I fell Monday in the kitchen and  tore some ligaments and stretched some tendons in my right leg. My knee has an beautiful bruise of many colors. I thank God nothing was broken. So I will definitely be at church and on the stage singing tomorrow.

As a footnote I see in reading back that no one missed me even though I wasn't here for awhile.I have been a member of this site for 20+ years

Quote from: Janet on January 14, 2022, 05:03:38 PMHello Janet! THANK YOU so much. I'm sorry to hear about your husband. Is he going to be okay? Kansas can be hard with that wind in the winter. We're in Lancaster County, PA. It's always humid here - hot humid in the summer and cold humid in the winter (clammy). Lol. It was cold yesterday, but I could get away with a vest outdoors; but today it is absolutely freezing out there (17 degrees) with a strong wind. WEll, hope the rest of your month goes well, Janet. Thanks for your note above. I appreciated it.

Marilyn I missed you.  I was thinking your time was taken up with your hubby and family.. If you had gone much longer with our being here for a coffee and chat I would have phoned, PMed or emailed you.  You have a lot going on in your life and you are in my prayers.

Thank you Judy. I always have time for CP. I do check the posts every few days even if I don't post.

I am still in a great deal of pain from my fall last week. I did  order a Medical Safety necklace that works by Blue tooth and comes with a GPS locator that is carried in the pocket or purs. I can also use it for Keith. There is also a bracelet  that come with it to wear while the necklace is being charged. It is Medical Guardian by brand name.

I was recently remember all the original's that we have lost. Judy McKenna. Pat, Al;, Larry ,Liz, etc  Jenny  in the UK is still alive I think, Jane stops in every now and then.It looks like there are only of us original poster who come regularly

Hello Marilyn! It is cold here in PA! We won't even be getting up to freezing. The sun is shining though. A bit of snow on the ground. Wish we could go out and take pictures, but it's too cold to do anything outdoors. 2 weeks ago I had an outdoor maternity shoot. It was freezing, but they were a young couple with energy for it. The park where we went had not shoveled; so my feet were frozen by the end. We got good shots though. I have arthritis in my spine, hips, and shoulders; so the cold, damp weather in the winter and hot, damp weather in the summer here in Lancaster makes me ache.

So what is going on with your eyes? I am sorry to hear that you're struggling in that way. As well as for your husband - what is his condition? My husband has diabetes, and his monitor also alerts my phone; so in the middle of the night, our phones go off like crazy to say he's too high or too low. Waking up in the night is not fun for sure. How is your knee? Did you get it checked out?

Are you in the church choir or do you do solos?

Hope you are well and having a better week than that last one you had!

Your Friend in PA,
Jenny

Hello Jenny to answer your questions.
I have Macular Degeneration more so in the left eye than the right. However I can see to drive, it is the small fonts and the light colors that I just can't see.

I also have Osteoporosis in my spine and arthritis both knees.

My husbands diagnosis is Vascular Dementia Alzheimer's disease. He also has Atrophy on the Visual Cortex/  He  has a large hernia on his abdomen that can't be operated on because the abdominal wal is too thin.

I live in a Mobile home in Arcata California with my Service dog,an Australian cattle Dog, Freckles (Blue Heeler) and my Chihuahua Millie also te Blue Merle comor/ Freckles is 14, Millie is 10, both are rescues. Of course I live with my husband as well. LOL

Hello Marilyn!

I'm glad you're still able to drive with your macular degeneration. Hopefully that will be the case always! Also glad you have no broken bones. Are you getting physical therapy for the injuries? I used to work as a PT Tech, and ligaments/tendons do take quite a while to heal as you said. I'm sorry about your husband's condition. That's a lot to deal with for BOTH of you! My husband's first wife (who was 20 years older than him) had Lewey Body Dementia. In fact, he and I met in church. When I first came to the church he was attending, his wife was dying, and my husband was dying of cancer. My husband was diagnosed with stage 5 prostate cancer at age 46. He lived 3 more years after that - it had spread everywhere. Anyway, so both our spouses were dying. He and I knew of each other, but after going through all the changes, we started talking more and got together. He is 3 ½ years older than me; so we have the same type of life experiences. We got married 2 ½ years ago. He grew up in a Christian home, went to Bible college, and was on his way to becoming ordained then walked away from God to become an atheist. During that time, he got his PhD in Philosophy and became a Philosophy professor. 25 years passed; BUT although he turned his back on God, God wasn't done with him.. Three years ago, the Lord started moving in his life again, and eventually he came back to the Lord. Now he has a ministry to reach hard-core atheists and to give Christians a resource to reach their atheist friends. He calls himself The Christian Atheist and has 2 podcasts – one is The Christian Atheist where he started by telling his journey back to God (or God's calling him back) and the other is Simple Gifts where he reads every day from poetry, Christianity, history, philosophy, and literature. Each segment is about 15 minutes and continues next time. We've been trying to get this photography business off the ground so we can support his ministry through it. If you look up Dr. John D. Wise and either The Christian Atheist or Simple Gifts on any podcasting app, you can find him. Anyway, so, I am very glad for you to have Freckles and Millie for support. There's no doubt that they make a big difference in handling all that you are going through! Well, keep posting on how you are doing. Praying for you as you go through these trials!

So sorry to hear of your fall! Praying for you.

I have been busy with supporting the truckers in Canada.  They are fighting for our freedom.  I have never seen Canada so united as we are now.

Heather fell and hurt her bad knee a week ago. Then yesterday she twisted it climbing a snow bank to take videos of the convoy.  Again last night in her sleep she moved wrong and twisted her knee a second time... Prayer would be appreciated.

We are in a (normal) deep freeze.  It seems to be felt more the older we get.  Our wood furnace quit 3 weeks ago so we are dependent on oil.  We have ordered another and expect it in soon.  John is able to install it, when he and Doug are at home. We will, for insurance reasons, have a furnace man inspect it.. John gave up his license many years go and now regrets it. That would be a good secondary income!

We are all well here, God is Good all the time!

Well, I'm finally here again.  I don't know how it happened, but my computer has been playing tricks on me and I just spent several hours today sorting out the kinks.
I just spent more time reading your messages for this month (I don't know what all I missed for last month, but I'm not going back to find out).
I'm so sorry to learn of the Covid illnesses and the falls.  It always hurts so much more as we age/mature.
As Marilyn commented: I do come by every once in a while, just to check up on y'all.
I live alone and don't have any family nearby and nobody else either, so I keep track of my family on social media.  My daughter, Dot, usually calls me every week or so.  In fact, she called today and we were on the phone for a couple hours!
I'm still staying in, and wearing a mask if/whenever I go to a store.  I have a doctor appointment on the 3rd of February, so I will find out then how my A Fib is doing.
I need to get off this computer now and see about doing something else productive.  Y'all stay safe and please know I am praying for each of you.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

This has been a month of my fur babies being sick.  Started with George my cat screaming as he tried to pee.  He was peeing out blood so off the the vet, $250 and he is home with meds...Zeke, he is so precious to me.... He is peeing out blood puss and urine, while laying down. Poor guy, he is intact, and the Vet Clinic said it could be bladder or prostate..... (That could mean surgery...I know)  I hope this isn't something that will affect the other animals in the house!

I am tired today, I have not slept through the night in weeks. The  to be up at 6 to get ready for my bus run doesn't help, unfortunately with the above bills racking up I can't quit!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Sometimes it is hard to be thankful when you feel that everything is going against you..... However that is what we are commanded to do, so I will give thanks that I have Zeke, and a job that pays for his care.

Have a wonderful evening everyone, Tomorrow is February, a short month then the beginning of spring!

JennyW

So sorry to hear of the medical issues, Judy. That seems to be a common issue with cats. I pray it will end up being an easy fix and relief will come quickly as well as relief for you from not being able to sleep.

Judy so sorry to hear about the health issues of Heather falling, yours, and the Fur babies. Maybe it is time to make sure zeke gets neutered to avoid all the problems that happen to a dog being in tact. My Happy was 5 yrs old when I had him neutered to keep him from having prostate problems.
