Post by: Marilyn on June 21, 2003, 03:01:27 PM
Here is one Etta Sue will love

Spicy Barbecue Sauce

1teas. dry mustard
1/3 cup vinegar
1 tbls. Worchestershire sauce
1/4 cup chili sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teas. salt
1/4 teas. Tabasco
1 med. onion coarsely cut

Put everything in the blender and blend on high for about 10 seconds to chop the onions fine. Put in a saucepan and simmer for about 15 minutes. Use to baste meat or chicken during roasting. Makes about 1 1/4 cups.

This sounds so good.  Jerry is the person to use Barbeque sauce and marinades.  I usually fix my stuff with nothing on it.  My husband didn't like anything on the meat...ruined the meat, he said.  He was a butcher and wanted to taste the meat!!!  He said if you have good meat, you don't need to doctor it up.  So I am still cooking like he liked things except I love my casserole or one-dish meals.  Bud didn't like casseroles or one-dish meals.... :-[

Marilyn,

I don't usually spend a lot of time in the recipe section but I do like good spicy barbeque sauce so I have printed your recipe.  I may just mix up some and try it.

Marilyn ~ I too have saved this recipe. I do like to marinade steaks to grill. I buy cheap cuts and then marinade them over night. They are very tender after marinating in my marinade. There isn't any recipe for it, but usually has at least 17 different ingredients in it! I have been buying a marinade for steaks at Dollar general and use that for my chicken breasts and loin chops. I usually use either cajun spice with the chops or black pepper as it is cooking, I buy a chicken seasoning from the $ store and use that on my chicken breasts. I switch between cajun and Italian seasonings on my burgers. Now I can grill my burgers with your sauce. ;) ;D ::)
