Title: And now I'm in trouble, again... flowers by Mrs. Barbarian
Post by: Barbarian on August 12, 2008, 10:39:39 PM
This was a nice pretty flower compostion.   But while I was getting it ready for Flickr, I thought it needed a more dramatic treatment.

Maybe she won't see it.

Do I see and ant there below last flower on the upper left side? Or maybe it is an Uncle.

Maybe if we shout loud enough she will. So what did you do? Yes I like it, the transition of colour between the flowers.

I pumped up the saturation, used "Cartoon" in GIMP to sharpen the details, and then I selected the deep shadows, and put a dark green to medium green gradient from the upper left to the lower right.

Wow,
I reallly like the "cartoon" effect. The colors and sharp edges really make the flowers standout.  Did you do all the effects ie. saturation, gradient, etc. in GIMP?  Great shot!!

Love the colours and the contrast.  Again it would be interesting to see the original.  I am learning a lot from you folks!
