Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

As mentioned previously, someone on another forum suggested to use backlight on one of my flowers to make it stand out better.  The natural light from the window was good today so, I gave it a try.  I used a Cactus V2 wireless flash unit on a Vivitar 2800D.  Aimed the flash unit parallel to the black velvet background.  I set the unit for A2, ISO1000.

Natural light.  No flash.

Natural light with flash.

Which is closer to the true colour?  They both are good but I like the second the best.

That's what's interesting here.  Normally, a flash deadens or flattens an image for me.  And, the colors for me become untrue.  In this case, because of the way it was used, it ENHANCED the true colors and, in fact, worked as I was suggested it would.  That's pretty much why I did this little test... to prove wrong the person that suggested it.  Dang!  I hate egg on my face  ;)

Just thought I'd add this to show you the set-up I used for these images.

That flash sure did add to it.  The colors are much brighter, the edges more distinct.

Thanks, Al.  Indeed, this will definitely be a technique I'll be using in the future!

After seeing that setup, I'm not surprised my pictures never compare to those that get posted here by our experts!   ;D
