... but it's growing in the water down at the lake, among the cattails.

How pretty! Are there many others there, as well? I don't know what it is either, but it must be striking there among the darker colors of green and brown of the cattails, etc.
Beautiful little flower, I don't know what it is either
It is a beautiful flower, probably some sort of water lilly.
How big is it?
If you have the size I will do a search.
I love the contrast of yellow and green.
The blossoms are a little more than an inch to two inches across. The dark green leaves cover the water near the cattails, and there are many of these little yellow flowers. I hadn't noticed them before.
I will get a search started. Heather is great at this!
I have no idea what this could be. Doesn't look like it's in the lily family.
I was working on this research for this little flower and then my computer crashed on me. I will get started on it again. I should have something for you by the end of the week.
Hugs
Heather
Good color contrast!
Ok, I think I have figured out what this flower is ... I found another picture of it on the net.

It's called a water buttercup I think.
Sorry it took so long to get an answer. This has been a very busy summer.

Good job, Heather!
Yes, great work, Heather. Now I know.
Heather you constantly amaze me. Thank you for your input here.
